The Will County Sheriff's Investigative Unit is announcing that Wendy M. Benton has been found and is safe. On January 6th Benton's family reported her missing and had not spoken to her since early November. Last evening, Detective Kim Topolewski spoke with Ms. Benton who stated that she is currently residing in Peoria and was safe. Benton's family has been notified.
The Sheriff's Office would like to thank the public for sharing the prior Facebook post in order to help spread the word on Benton's disappearance. The Facebook post has now been removed.
