8/31     Location:  2500 block of Riivendell Drive                                         New Lenox

            Summary:  An unknown male/white subject in his mid-50s, stole a John Deere riding lawn mower from the driveway of a residence around 12:30pm.  The man was observed backing up his red full sized pickup truck and trailer onto the driveway and stealing the mower.

            Summary:  Colleen Dunlop, age 47, of 20631 Orchard Court in Frankfort was cited for improper lane usage, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and DUI.

 

SOUTH TOWNSHIPS

 

9/1       Location:  I55 and W. Coal City Road                                   Reed

            Summary:  Kendall W. Brewster, age 18, of 1866 S. Lawndale in Chicago was arrested for improper lane usage, improper turn signal, speeding, aggravated unlawful use of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm/ammunition, no FOID card, and no conceal carry weapons permit.

 

            Location:  30943 SE Frontage Road                                      Wilmington

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a Ford F-350 pickup truck was stolen from a driveway.  The vehicle was unlocked and had the keys inside at the time of the theft.

 

WEST TOWNSHIPS

 

9/1       Location:  23000 block of W. Andrew Road                         Plainfield

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole four 37” Toyo Tires/Rims.  Also stolen was three Artic Sectional Plows.  Estimated value of the plows was $7,800 each.

9/2       Location:  University Parkway and Red Oak Lane                Crete

            Summary:  Julius Jones, age 38, of 1322 Kennedy Lane in Ford Heights was cited for illegal use of blue oscillating, rotating, flashing lights on a motor vehicle and no valid driver’s license.

 

9/5       Location:  2300 block of W. Goodenow Road                      Monee

            Summary:  Robert F. Gemmato, age 36, of 13435 S. Ave M in Chicago was arrested for DUI, driving while license revoked, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and aggravated DUI.

9/1       Location:  14000 block of W. 159^th St.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an unlocked garage and stole a 96” heavy bucket with rezlo edge, a concrete breaker, an auger, an electric start generator, a welder, skid hoe, two riding mowers, and a forklift.

 

9/3       Location:  W. 151^st St. and S. Will Cook Road

            Summary:  James F. Maloney, age 60, of 3447 W. 112^th Place in Chicago was cited for aggravated speeding.

 

9/4       Location:  S. Bruce Circle and W. Bruce Road

            Summary:  Michael J. Garrett, age 19, of 17837 S. McCarron in Homer Glen was cited for aggravated speeding.

            Summary:  Karen L. Blair, age 62, of 2800 Ardith St. in Joliet was cited for driving while license suspended and expired registration.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke a lock off the fence gate in order to enter and steal 30 feet of copper and ground wiring.

            Summary:  Daniela Munoz Acosta, age 27, of 1229 Bayberry Drive in Joliet was arrested for DUI, improper lane usage, and two counts of no child restraints.

            Summary:  Jason Bell, age 41, of 129 N. Cranberry St. in Bolingbrook was charged with defrauding a court ordered drug/alcohol screening.

 

            Location:  3000 block of W. Jefferson St.

            Summary:  Alexander Frazier, age 38, of 201 Bradford Road in Joliet was arrested for speeding, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, aggravated driving while license revoked, DUI/alcohol, DUI/drugs, DUI/combination, possession of a controlled substance, aggravated DUI.

 

            Location:  S. Briggs Street

            Summary:   An elderly couple reported to deputies that on 9/1/21, around 3pm, an unknown male/black subject, about six feet tall and 250lbs, wearing an orange construction vest, fisherman’s hat, and holding a walkie-talkie, visited their house.  The subject stated that he needed to show them an area of their backyard where he was going to have to do some digging.  The subject claimed that the neighbors hired him to help with a bacteria problem in their water system.  The couple went to the backyard with the subject, who stated his name was Alexander.  While the subject was speaking with the couple, they heard a male voice on the walkie-talkie who said, “ok, give me six minutes.”  The subject continued to speak with the couple and then the man on the walkie-talkie would say, “Ok, four more minutes.” 

   The couple then became suspicious and went inside.  He observed the subject leaving the home in a black minivan.  An empty safe was stolen and a jewelry box was damaged but nothing was found to be missing.

            Summary:  Jose A. Lopez, age 24, of 416 S. May in Joliet was charged with defrauding a court ordered drug/alcohol screening.

            Summary:  James D. Crosby, age 30, of 216 First Avenue in Joliet was cited for driving while license suspended, expired registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

            Summary:  Luis Maya-Figon, age 50, of 106 E. Jefferson St. in Shorewood was arrested for DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol, and illegal use of cell phone.

            Summary:  Tami L. Cahill, age 47, of 2410 Barry in Crest Hill was charged with no seatbelt, failure to signal changing lanes, illegal transportation of alcohol, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, no valid registration, improper use of registration, and driving while license revoked.

            Summary:  Nathan L. Powell, age 21, of 522 E. 9^th St. in Lockport was cited for expired registration, driving while license suspended and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke into a home and ransacked it.  Stolen was four flat screen TV’s.

            Summary:  Denise Corona-Salazar, age 39, of 5403 72^nd Court in Summit Argo, IL was arrested for improper lane usage, improper lighting, illegal transportation of alcohol, and DUI.

 

9/6       Location:  Collins and E. Van Buren

            Summary:  Jose Rangel-Lara, age 34, of 207 Wilson Avenue in Joliet was cited for driving while license suspended.

            Summary:  Victorio De Le Cruz-Diaz, age 30, of 123 S. Raynor in Joliet was arrested for DUI, improper equipment, illegal transportation of alcohol, and improper lane usage.

EAST TOWNSHIPS

 

8/25     Location:  5100 block of W. Pauling                          Monee

            Summary:  Debra Lewis, age 22, of 6719 S. Loomis Blvd. in Chicago was cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle, improper lane usage, no seatbelt and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

 

            Location:  26435 S. Dixie Highway               Balmoral Race Track              Crete

            Summary:  Caretaker stated to deputies that person/s unknown broke into the main building and broke 23 large viewing windows on the first floor and threw furniture out the window.  Offenders broke 17 pictures, a horse skeleton display, knocked over a stand-up food tray warmer and a VCR.  On the third floor, offender/s broke out 22 large viewing windows and threw out multiple chairs and tables out of the windows.  Large amounts of plates, bowls, and cups were thrown down a flight of stairs, multiple fire extinguishers were emptied and thrown about, a billiards table was flipped over, holes were knocked into the walls, furniture overturned and glass bar shelving was shattered.  On the fourth floor, the air conditioning unit was on and multiple monitors and instrument panels had been turned on.  58 chairs and 4 tables were found outside the building on the ground.  Caretaker stated that the viewing windows estimated replacement cost was between $5000 and $10,000 each.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a 1982 Chevy Caprice from a garage.  The garage door had been left open and the vehicle was unlocked with the keys inside at time of theft.

            Summary:  Eric W. Griffiths, age 45, of this address, was charged with aggravated battery to a peace officer.

            Summary:  Terrence A. Johnson, age 30, of 21700 Clyde Avenue in Sauk Village was cited for aggravated speeding.

            Summary:  Machelle L. Gazzillo, age 46, of 3209 Carpenter St. in Steger was cited for improper display of registration and was held on an active Kankakee County warrant.

 

8/28     Location:  12000 block of W. Clyde Court                            New Lenox

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a 2016 Dodge Ram from US-30 Auto Sales.

 

LOCKPORT

 

8/24     Location:  16000 block of S. Weber Road

            Summary:  Victim stated that shortly before 6pm an unknown male/white knocked on her front door and stated that he needed to cut down a tree in her backyard.  The victim told the man that he was not allowed to cut down any trees.  The victim told the man to meet her in the backyard.  She left the front door unlocked when she went to the backyard and spoke to the man for about 15 minutes.  The man then stated that he had to make a call to his boss and never returned.  Victim discovered that a second person had entered her home and stole a large safe containing a 9mm handgun, USC, gold coins, wedding rings, ammunition, and a passport.  The unknown male was driving a midsized black SUV.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke into a residence.  It was unclear at time of report if anything was stolen.

 

8/25     Location:  800 block of E. First St.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole two stone eagle statues from the front of a residence.

            Summary:  Salvador Alvarado Contreras, age 29, of 106 Hughes Avenue in Lockport was arrested for DUI, speeding, one headlight, transporation/possession of open alcohol by driver, failure to secure new registration and improper lane usage.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown attempted to steal a catalytic converter from a vehicle.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a 2011 Ford F-150 truck from the driveway of a residence.  The vehicle was left unlocked with the keys inside at time of theft.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke a vehicle window in order to gain entry.  Offender/s stole a 9mm firearm.

 

NEW LENOX AND FRANKFORT

 

8/18     Location:  500 block of N. Marley Road                               New Lenox

            Summary:  Victim stated that while she was outside doing yard work a well-dressed male Hispanic, wearing ComEd clothing, approached her.  The man spoke to her about an electric pole that was out in her area.  After speaking with the man, the victim did not believe him and went to her front door when she saw a second individual run out of her garage.   The men left in a small white car.  The victim advised deputies that $200 was stolen and a ring from her bedroom.

 

8/19     Location:  Center and W. Laraway Road                               Frankfort

            Summary:  Rahman Polk, age 54, of 9742 S. Beverly Avenue in Chicago was cited for aggravated speeding and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

 

8/20     Location:  S. Green Meadow Lane                 Frankfort

            Summary:  Victim stated that she received a private message on Facebook from, who she believed to be, a very close friend.  The message was regarding getting a government grant to open her own business.  The victim was interested in the grant and was directed to take $1500 in gift cards to start the program.  The victim followed the direction and sent the gift cards.  The victim then became suspicious and contacted her friend who stated that it was not him who sent the message and that he must have been hacked. 

 

8/23     Location:  1801 E. Lincoln Highway                         Lincolnway Central High School

            Summary:  An unknown white/male jumped the fence surrounding the football field around 4:50am on 8/21/21.  The offender moved a picnic table onto the field, pulled football yard markers out of the ground, and threw trash from surrounding garbage cans all over the field.   Video surveillance is being reviewed.

            Summary:  Ramell Cleveland, age 30, of 960 E. 114^th Place in Crown Point, IN was cited for failure to dim headlights and driving while license suspended.

 

8/23     Location:  W. Exchange and S. Kings Road

            Summary:  Darvee Stewart, age 21, of 8223 S. Chappell in Chicago was cited for speeding and temporary license/permit violations.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke into the cell tower property and stole three busbars and grounding wire.

            Summary:  Dustin Mathena, age 39, of 21861 Smiley Road in Wilmington was arrested for DUI, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and driver’s license class/violation.

 

8/22     Location:  S. Rt. 53 and W. Hoff Road                      Jackson

            Summary:  Ashley Miles, age 28, of 32216 Markle Lane in Wilmington was cited for no registration lights, no valid driver’s license.

            Summary:  Matthew Wertschnig, age 31, of 4306 S. Honore St. in Chicago was cited for one headlight and driving while license suspended.

            Summary:  Gregory L. Amschler, age 38, of 14807 S. Cricketwood Drive in Homer Glen was arrested for Theft under $500.

 

            Location:  W. Doral Lane

            Summary:  Victim stated that in April she hired an individual who stated that he was a general contractor.  A contract was drawn for several home improvements upgrades.  The victim paid the individual for the work.   The individual has not performed any of the work and victim believes he does not intend to provide the work.   Victim stated that she has recently observed numerous Facebook posts in reference to the same individual doing the same thing to other people in the area.

 

8/19     Location:  W. 151^st and W. Heritage Circle

            Summary:  Luis A. Soto, age 31, of 14343 Beacon in Orland Park was cited for driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and speeding.

 

            Location:  S. Kickapoo Trail

            Summary:  Victim stated that in June she hired an individual who stated that he was a general contractor.  A contract was drawn up to replace asphalt with a concrete driveway. Victim paid the individual a deposit to start the work.  Victim believes the individual defrauded her and does not intend to do the work. Victim also stated that she has recently observed numerous Facebook posts in reference to the same individual defrauding other people.

            Summary:  Giselle Aguayo, age 19, of 3700 W. 86^th Place in Chicago was cited for driving while license suspended and speeding.

            Summary:  Scott S. Anderson, age 55, of this address, was arrested for disorderly conduct.

            Summary:  An unknown female subject was observed on a Ring camera system, entering an unlocked vehicle.  Nothing was taken.  The subject was identified as a white female, wearing athletic clothing, pink shirt, and black leggings with a white sweatshirt tied around her waist.  The subject was wearing latex gloves.

            Summary:  Victim reported that around 7am an unknown male/white came into his bedroom while he was sleeping and when the victim woke up the male stated, “Oh, I’m sorry”.  The male subject then left the residence through a back window that he had broken into to make entry into the home.  The male was observed leaving the area in a four door SUV that was parked in the victim’s driveway.

            Summary:  Two unknown males were observed on video footage breaking into the business around 2am.  Offenders stole vape pens and a shelf of CBD oils.

            Summary:  Fourteen storage units were broken into by three unknown subjects wearing hoodies and surgical masks.  The offenders were in a dark green pickup truck and entered through the locked front gate immediately after a customer went through it. The offenders entered the lot at 8:00pm and left the property at 9:45pm.  Some of the items that were stolen were PVC trim coil, snow blowers, golf sets, and several types of construction/carpentry saws, nailers, compressors, and grinders.  Additionally, an ATV motorcycle lift was stolen along with computers and accessories, radiator covers, car parts, a grandfather clock, diving equipment, a bed frame and headboard.   Under investigation.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke out a vehicle window in order to gain entry.  Offender/s stole an Apple air pod headphone set.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke out a vehicle window and stole a laptop bag containing a laptop, a pager, and a cell phone.

            Summary:  Catherine B. Eckert, age 20, of this address was arrested for resisting a peace officer and was taken into custody on that charge along with an outstanding felony warrant for aggravated battery to a police officer. 

 

            Location:  12000 block of W. Francis Road                          Mokena

            Summary:   A female resident reported to deputies that on August 3 she was at her residence when an unknown male walked to her back patio and stated that he was working in the area to test the water because people had been getting sick from it.   The resident allowed the subject to come inside.  The subject turned the kitchen faucet on and stated that the glasses he was wearing would change the color of the water so he could tell if her water was good or not.  The subject was talking on a walkie-talkie while he was ‘checking her water’.  The resident then asked the man to leave her home.  She described the man as in his 40-50’s, white, heavy set, with a surgical mask.  He was driving a white truck with tinted windows.  A second person was inside the truck.  It was later determined that the second person had entered her home and stole jewelry from her bedroom.
