SOUTH TOWNSHIPS
11/5 Location: W. New River Rd. and N. Kankakee Wilmington
Summary: Terrance Reese, age 34, of Crest Hill was cited for speeding, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and driving while license suspended.
11/6 Location: N. Mitchell and E. Main St. Reed
Summary: Nutiya Thompson, age 25, of Braidwood was cited for driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and improper lighting.
JOLIET
10/31 Location: Erskine Rd.
Summary: Victim stated he received a call from a male person on 10/27/23 who identified himself as the victim’s grandson. The male person stated that he had been in an accident and was in a Tennessee jail and needed $17,500 to be released. The victim stated he did not have that kind of money but an agreement was reached to send $9,000. The victim was then directed to use a nearby FedEx to send the money to an address in West Palm Beach, FL.
On 10/30/23 the victim received another call from a man identifying himself as Richard Davis who said he was the grandson’s attorney. He informed the victim that another $13,500 payment was needed because the vehicle that his grandson hit was a Mercedes. The victim complied, sending the money to the same address in Florida.
On this date, deputies met with the victim and his daughter who stated that the grandson was never in Tennessee nor Florida and that the victim had been scammed.

Summary: Teresa Salas, age 36, of Joliet was cited for driving while license suspended and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
Location: 95 S. Chicago St. Adult Detention Facility
Summary: Kasandra Murphy, age 45, of 213 E. Cass St. in Joliet was charged with aggravated battery to a correctional officer.
11/2 Location: Oneida and Woodlawn
Summary: Jose Rodriguez Velez, age 46, of Joliet was cited for driving while licenses suspended and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
Location: Rock Run Dr. and Bicentennial Ave.
Summary: Jordan Adams, age 25, of 1860 Asbury Circle Drive in Joliet was arrested for driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, operating vehicle with suspended registration, and unlawful possession of cannabis by driver.
11/3 Location: 100 block of W. Jefferson St.
Summary: Rubi E. Montano, age 566, of Bolingbrook was cited for leaving the scene of an accident, and no valid driver’s license.
11/5 Location: Bradford Road
Summary: Brianna Austin, age 21, of 9 Pheasant Run in Joliet was arrested for aggravated battery to a police officer.
Location: Plainfield Rd. and Caton Farm Rd.
Summary: Nadir Garcia-Mendez, age 31, of Aurora was cited for expired registration and no valid driver’s license.
EAST TOWNSHIPS
11/1 Location: W. Stuenkel Rd. and I57 Crete
Summary: Shontina Thurman, age 37, of Chicago was cited for failure to yield to avoid an accident, driving while license suspended and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
11/2 Location: 25608 S. Dixie Highway U Store It Crete
Summary: Person/s unknown broke into six storage units. One of the units had paint sprayers, power washers, compound miter saw, two TV’s, several power tools, two home stereo units, a Christmas tree and party lights. The owners of the other units have not reported to the Sheriff’s Office as of this date.
11/5 Location: 300 block of W. 34th St. Monee
Summary: Juan Hammock, age 24, of Monee was cited for improper lighting, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, driving while license suspended and was held on an active warrant.
HOMER GLEN
11/1 Location: S. Pheasant Lane and W. Martingale
Summary: Gerson Rafael Garcia Contreras, age 30, of Chicago was cited for no valid driver’s license and failure to yield at stop sign.
11/3 Location: 15000 block of S. Gougar Rd.
Summary: Omar M. Pestana Velasquez, age 31, of Chicago was cited for no valid driver’ s license, driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and speeding. He was held on an active Kane County FTA warrant.
WEST TOWNSHIPS
10/31 Location: 15000 block of S. Michael Drive Plainfield
Summary: Victim stated that around 3:45pm she heard a knock at the front door where she spoke to a heavy-set male Hispanic wearing a brown sweatshirt. He entered her residence and stated he was there to check her electricity. She followed the man into the kitchen as he began turning her light switches on and off. The victim then told the man to leave. The man left the residence and stated, ‘don’t contact the police’. The man left in a silver Honda sedan. (see report below)
Location: 19000 block of W. Airport Road DuPage
Summary: At 4:45pm, deputies were dispatched to the 19000 block of W. Airport Road in Romeoville regarding a residential burglary. Homeowners stated that they answered a knock at the door and met a heavy set male Hispanic man who said that he was doing work on the phone lines in the neighborhood. The man coaxed the couple outside and spoke with them. The couple then returned inside their home and found a second male subject inside the bathroom hiding behind the shower curtain. The subject then ran out of the residence in and entered a silver Honda sedan. The couple then realized that $50 and jewelry were missing from their bedroom. Deputies learned that the offender and vehicle description matched the offender and vehicle description from the S. Michael Drive incident. Under investigation.
11/3 Location: 21000 block of W. Helen Drive Plainfield
Summary: Person/s unknown attempted to break into a residence through the back sliding glass door.
11/4 Location: 20000 block of W. Barrington Lane Plainfield
Summary: Deputies were advised that multiple subjects were in the area breaking into vehicles. While deputies were patrolling, they observed a Dodge Durango that had been reported as a suspect vehicle. Upon approaching the parked Durango, deputies observed two subjects exit a vehicle that was parked in a driveway and enter the Durango. The Durango then sped off with deputies following. The pursuit was cut short for public safety reasons. Deputies then spoke with the homeowner on Barrington who stated that the subjects had broken into his vehicle and stole a wallet containing identifying information. (see report below)
11/5 Location: 20000 block of W. Barrington Lane Plainfield
Summary: Person/s unknown broke into a vehicle and stole Apple Airpods, a charger, miscellaneous change, and two t-shirts. Video surveillance of the burglaries to vehicles in the area are being reviewing.
11/6 Location: 21000 block of W. Silverleaf Court Plainfield
Summary: Victim stated that her Facebook account was hacked, and she could not get back into her Facebook app so she went to a nearby AT&T store who advised her that she needed to contact Facebook. The store clerk looked up a phone number for Facebook and gave it to the victim. The victim dialed the number (844-457-1440) and spoke to a female who advised the victim that she would have to pay $500 in Apple gift cards for service to be resumed. The victim did as advised. A short time later the victim received a call back from the same girl who directed the victim that Facebook would need another $500 because of the high volume of individuals that had been hacked. The girl told the victim that after everything was straightened out, they would reimburse the victim of the fees. The victim went back to AT&T and informed the store clerk of what was happening. Upon review and a search of the phone number it came up as the Facebook Support Line, however it was determined to be scam phone number.
FRANKFORT AND NEW LENOX
10/31 Location: W. Lincoln Highway and S. 84th Ave. Frankfort
Summary: Robert L. Coffelt, age 59, of 19536 Redwood Lane in Mokena was arrested for aggravated DUI, illegal transportation/possession of alcohol by driver, and improper lane usage.
Location: W. Laraway Road and S. Gougar Road New Lenox
Summary: Olayinka S. Ladipo, age 27, of New Lenox was cited for driving while license suspended and improper passing.
11/4 Location: 7400 block of W. Hickory Creek Drive Frankfort
Summary: Person/s unknown broke the window of a work van in order to enter it and steal two impact drills, a cordless drill, and a flip drill.
11/6 Location: W. North Avenue and S. Acorn Ridge Frankfort
Summary: Natalie Proctor, age 26, of Frankfort was arrested for DUI and disobeying a traffic control device.
