10/24 Location: N. Division and W. Anndon Reed
Summary: Elaine Madsen, age 23, of Braidwood was cited for driving while license suspended.
Location: 31715 SE Frontage Road T&R Mini Storage Wilmington
Summary: Person/s unknown broke into a storage property and stole a Sectional drain rodder, a Dayton arc welder, a snow blower, ten spools of copper wire, and five hundred shotgun shells. Total loss: $4400.
10/25 Location: S. West River Road and W. Coal City Wilmington
Summary: Giovanny Ruiz, age 29, of Kankakee was cited for aggravated speeding.
Location: S. Rt. 53 and S. Lawhorn Lane Wilmington
Summary: Gregory L. Bailey, age 46, of Wilmington was cited for driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
Location: 31715 SE Frontage Road T&R Mini Storage Wilmington
Summary: Person/s unknown broke into the storage property and stole an aluminum trailer.
HOMER GLEN
10/25 Location: W. 159th St. and S. Leach Drive
Summary: Dion Brown Jr., age 20, of Chicago was cited for improper lighting, driving while registration suspended, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
10/26 Location: 12000 block of W. Martingale Lane
Summary: During an open house person/s unknown stole several pieces of fine jewelry from the homeowner.
10/27 Location: S. Parker and W. Seminole Trail
Summary: Omar Onofre, age 26, of Chicago was cited for driving while license suspended, operating vehicle with suspended registration and speeding.
Location: 12007 W. 159th St. Speedway
Summary: Two male white subjects entered the store about 3:25am and attempted to purchase alcohol. The clerk explained to them that due to the time, no alcohol could be purchased. One of the subjects grabbed a six pack of Modelo beer and left the store. The other subjects stated to the clerk that he would talk to the other subject and have him return the beer. Both subjects left the area in an unknown vehicle.
10/28 Location: 17000 block of W. Bluff Road
Summary: Person/s unknown smashed out both side windows of a vehicle, but nothing was stolen.
WEST TOWNSHIPS
10/30 Location: 22000 block of W. Niagara Trail Plainfield
Summary: Victim stated that he observed three unknown subjects walking near his driveway around 10pm. One of the subjects approached his vehicle and tried to enter it. The victim yelled out to the subjects and the subjects fled into a black Dodge Durango. Several attempts were made by Sheriff’s deputies and Romeoville Police to track the vehicle, but they were unsuccessful.
10/30 Location: 31w100 Schoger Drive Wheatland
Summary: Person/s unknown broke into a gated property and stole a Kia Rio from the parking lott.
EAST TOWNSHIPS
10/26 Location: W. County Line Rd. and S. Ridgeland Will
Summary: Christopher Williams, age 40, of Lake Village, IN, was cited for driving while license suspended and aggravated speeding.
10/27 Location: Finch Lane Washington
Summary: Person/s unknown broke into a residence and stole a two-piece diamond wedding set and an unknown number of bicentennial quarters.
10/28 Location: S. Ridgeland and W. Pauling Monee
Summary: Charmaine Frias, age 74, of Beecher was cited for failure to yield and driving while license suspended.
Location: 3700 block of W. Church Road Washington
Summary: Victim stated that she had just found one of her sheep dead from a gunshot wound. Victim located the sheep in the bucket of a skid steer. She stated that she had no idea when it happened or who could have done it. The bullet wounds were found to be at the back of sheep’s head. Deputies attempted to recover a bullet but were unable to locate one in the area.
LOCKPORT
10/29 Location: 400 block of W. Oak Avenue
Summary: Abel Corbeira, age 30, of 1214 Elgin Avenue in Joliet was arrested for aggravated battery with a firearm after deputies arrived at a residence and found a 21-year-old male victim with a gun shot wound to his head. Lockport Fire transported the victim to Silver Cross Hospital. They spoke to the caller who stated that Corbeira was at her residence when an altercation began between him and the victim. Corbeira then pulled out a handgun and shot the victim. Corbeira left the scene prior to deputies’ arrival. He was later taken into custody and arrested.
JOLIET
10/25 Location: Timberline Drive
Summary: Victim stated that she received a phone call from a female posing as an Xfinity representative offering a reduction to the victims payment plan. The victim was instructed to mail a check in the amount of $192.50 in currency to a “Mary William” at a P.O. Box in Chicago. After sending the check, the victim received another call from Mary William who told the victim that she needed to send $100. The victim then got suspicious and called Xfinity who informed her that this was a scam.
10/26 Location: 95 S. Chicago St. Adult Detention Facility
Summary: Deshaun Cockream, age 24, of Bolingbrook was charged with aggravated battery to a correctional officer.
Location: 100 W. Jefferson St. Will County Courthouse
Summary: Alissia N. Huet, age 27, of 380a Whitewater Drive in Bolingbrook was arrested for criminal damage to property, trespassing on government property, resisting a police officer and aggravated battery to a police officer.
10/27 Location: E. Washington and Anderson
Summary: Jasmine Johnson, age 34, of Joliet was cited for speeding, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and driving while license suspended.
10/28 Location: Theodore Street
Summary: Deputies arrested a fifteen-year-old male from Crest Hill after he stole a 2013 Dodge Dart from a residence around Clara Avenue in Joliet. Deputies used the Flock system and were able to track the license plate to Jackson Street from Collins, then over the Ruby Street Bridge and onto Theodore Street. Deputies located the vehicle parked at a business on Theodore Street. When the 15-year-old and two other subjects observed deputies, they fled on foot. The 15-year-old was taken into custody after he was tasered. He was charged with criminal trespass to a vehicle and resisting a peace officer.
Location: 21961 S. River Road
Summary: Secretary for Troy Baseball Association stated that upon arriving at the concession stand she observed the cash register broken and about $120 worth of candy bars to be missing.
10/30 Location: 2100 Nadia Drive
Summary: Victim stated that she received a phone call from a man who identified himself as a deputy from the Will County Sheriff’s Office. The imposter told the victim that she had signed a subpoena and she failed to appear in court to testify as a witness. The imposter deputy advised the victim that she would need to pay $2,500 for the failure to appear citation and another $2,500 for a contempt of court citation. She was told that if she did not pay, a warrant for her arrest would be processed.
The victim became concerned and withdrew the $5,000 and brought it to the location that was given to her. When she arrived, she realized the location was Jewel on Larkin Avenue. She called the imposter who advised her to deposit the $5,000 in the Coinstar machine and then select the BitCoin option on the screen to make the complete deposit. This alarmed the victim, and she advised the imposter that she would meet him at the Sheriff’s Office to complete the payment with him in person. The imposter hung up the phone.
Note: The imposter deputy used the first and last name of one of the Sheriff’s Office current staff members.
