HOMER GLEN
7/14 Location: 14053 S. Bell Road Home Depot
Summary: A female employee, working the service counter at the store, reported that two unknown male black subjects approached the exit doors with two shopping carts full of Milwaukee brand power tools. The employee asked them for a receipt. One of the subjects reached into his pocket and discharged pepper spray into her face. Both subjects fled the scene with the items.
7/15 Location: 14000 block of S. Parker Road
Summary: Lukas Petravicius, age 40, off 1006 Thornton Street in Lockport was arrested for 3 counts of aggravated DUI, aggravated driving while license revoked, DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to give aid, driving while license revoked, failure to give information after striking unattended vehicle, failure to report accident to police, and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
Location: 14000 block of S. Cokes Road
Summary: Person/s unknown stole a 2018 GMC Yukon, with Tennessee registration plates, from the driveway of a residence. The owner was in possession of both sets of keys.
7/16 Location: 16000 block of S. Creekwood Drive
Summary: About 7:20pm, Deputies responded to an activated burglar alarm at a residence. They observed a rear patio door shattered upon their arrival. The residents were not home at the time. Deputies cleared the home with no suspects located inside. It was discovered that the offender/s stole a Chevy Traverse out of the garage.
Upon gathering evidence and speaking to the neighbors, deputies found that one neighbor observed an unknown subject wearing a black hoodie running from the rear of the burglarized home, entering the Traverse and driving away.
Oak Forest Police Department later located the vehicle unoccupied on the 5100 block of 171st Street.
Location: 14169 S. Bell Road Meijer
Summary: Around 10:20pm, deputies responded to the store and spoke with the manager who stated that three male subjects, between 15 and 18 years old, were inside the store riding the drivable shopping carts around the store crashing into each other. The manager asked them to leave but they refused. The manager then called deputies and again asked the subjects to leave, however they refused. Prior to deputies’ arrival the subjects ran from the store and it was discovered that all three carts were damaged with the power cord wrapped around the wheels and the plug of the cart severed.
Upon looking around the store it was also observed that the subjects had used a toy fishing pole and strewn the line about the store, tying it to different items and pulling them off the shelves.
An employee of the store was able to get the registration number off the Infinity they drove away in. Under investigation.
Location: 16000 block of S. Parker Road
Summary: Homeowner/victim stated that his residence is currently for sale. On 5/19/23, the victim went to remove one of his watches and observed all four of his high-end watches missing. Victim stated that there were multiple realtors with clients going thru the home.
JOLIET
7/11 Location: 100 W. Jefferson Street Will County Courthouse
Summary: Nicholas Sodt, age 51, of 1850 McDonough Street in Joliet was arrested for aggravated assault to a police officer and criminal trespass to government property.
7/12 Location: 100 W. Jefferson Street Will County Courthouse
Summary: Ernest D. Morgan, age 43, of 2212 S. Bogdan Lane in Joliet was arrested for battery and criminal damage to property.
Location: Henderson and Virginia
Summary: Jenner Ramirez, age 22, of 631 Benton St. in Joliet was arrested for aggravated DUI, obstructing identification, DUI, no valid driver’s license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and squealing tires.
7/13 Location: E. Cass and E. Washington
Summary: Luis Torrenegra, age 26, of Joliet was cited for no valid driver’s license, improper use of registration, and unlawful possession of title/registration documents.
Location: S. Briggs and 3rd Avenue
Summary: Roger R. Chivico, age 25, of Joliet was cited for no valid driver’s license and speeding.
Location: 100 W. Jefferson St. Will County Courthouse
Summary: Levan Chevron Davis, age 31, of 364 Walnut Circle in Bolingbrook was arrested for battery.
Location: 1211 California Avenue
Summary: Deandre J. Hunter, age 45, of this address, was taken into custody by the Will County Gang Suppression Unit and members of the Will County Interdiction Team after executing a search warrant at his home. Several weapons, ammunition and drugs were seized. Hunter was arrested for possession with intent to manufacture/deliver a controlled substance, armed violence felon, unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition, possession of a stolen firearm, four counts of unlawful use/possession of a weapon by a felon and possession of drug equipment.
7/14 Location: 200 block of Luana Road
Summary: Tyran S. Pruitte, age 28, of Joliet was arrested for violation of owner duties of an animal and animal cruelty.
Location: 1400 block of Spencer Road
Summary: Kari McLaren, age 32, of Lockport was cited for driving too fast for conditions and failure to report an accident.
Location: 3rd Avenue and Barr Elms Avenue
Summary: Amari Edwards, age 23, of Joliet was cited for improper lane usage and driving while license suspended.
Location: 1705 Arbor Lane
Summary: Jerry D. Bass, Jr., age 36, of this address was taken into custody by the Sheriff’s Fugitive Warrants Unit on an active felony Will County warrant. During the warrant service, deputies also charged Bass with felony possession of a weapon, armed habitual criminal, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, and resisting a police officer.
Location: Ruby and Elizabeth
Summary: Ruben Felix Hernandez, age 48, of Joliet was arrested for DUI, improper lane usage and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
7/15 Location: 1600 E. Washington St. Citgo
Summary: About 4:30pm, deputies were called to the Citgo gas station for an abandoned 911 call. Prior to deputies’ arrival, 911 dispatch advised deputies that there was an attempted aggravated vehicular hijacking that had just occurred. Upon arrival, deputies observed a 2007 Ford Econoline van parked at a gas pump. Two male victims stated that one of them was inside the store, while the other was inside the van when he observed two black male subjects, wearing green construction vests approach him. As they approached, one of the offenders lifted his shirt to display a handgun and then reached inside the van. The victim quickly removed the keys from the ignition. The offender then grabbed a backpack from the van and both offenders took off in a grey Chevy SUV. No one was injured.
Location: Thayer and Sterling
Summary: Linda G. Liceaga, age 57, of Joliet was held on an active FTA Will County warrant and was charged with obstructing identification. Margarita Saavedra, age 36, of 744 Collins in Joliet was cited for possession of drug equipment, driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, failure to signal while turning, driving with expired license plates, and improper lighting. Saavedra was also held on an active Will County FTA warrant.
SOUTH TOWNSHIPS
7/14 Location: S. Schoolhouse Road and Delaney Road Manhattan
Summary: Parada Cesar Clemente, age 38, of Summit was cited for aggravated speeding and driving while license suspended.
7/16 Location: E. First St. and N. Center St. Reed
Summary: Billy J. Dugard, age 47, of Crete was cited for driving while license revoked, obstructed windows, and expired registration.
Location: W. Kennedy Road and S. Kankakee St. Reed
Summary: Kelly S. Olsen, age 43, of Gardner was cited for driving with suspended registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
WEST TOWNSHIPS
7/14 Location: 10206 S. Clow Creek Rd. Bet It Up Kustoms Plainfield
Summary: Person/s unknown stole a Buick Regal and slashed four tires on a Chevy Trailblazer. The business had also been broken into and gang related graffiti was painted on walls. The vehicle was later located at Virgil Gilman Nature Trail in Aurora. Aurora Police released the vehicle back to the owner.
7/15 Location: 14237 S. Hanford Court Plainfield
Summary: Person/s unknown entered a locked vehicle and peeled the steering column back.
EAST TOWNSHIPS
7/15 Location: 32000 block of S. Rt. 45 Peotone
Summary: Person/s unknown stole 3 exterior batteries from a semi-truck.
7/16 Location: 23000 block of S. Western Avenue Crete
Summary: Person/s unknown stole the catalytic converter from a recreational vehicle.
7/17 Location: 26435 S. Dixie Highway Balmoral Racetrack Crete
Summary: Deputies responded to a call regarding a theft in progress about 9pm. Upon arrival, deputies observed multiple 2023 Ford Explorers in the lot, as this is a storing facility for Ford autos that have been recalled. The Explorers were parked in a U formation bumper to bumper, parallel to the entrance gate to prevent other cars from entering/leaving the lot at this location. Three Explorers were observed to have body damage to bumpers and doors.
Deputies spoke to the security officer who stated that while traveling in the area he observed the gate to be open and a silver Lincoln Aviator parked in front of the gate. He observed the driver to be a younger looking black male. He then observed a 2023 Ford Explorer leave the lot at a high rate of speed, driven by a male black. He was going to pursue the vehicle when he observed a second 2023 Explorer also leaving the lot at a high rate of speed. Two males were observed in the Lincoln Aviator when it left the area.
A Ford representative arrived and spoke with deputies. This incident is under investigation.
FRANKFORT AND NEW LENOX
7/11 Location: 19000 block of S. Harlem Avenue Frankfort
Summary: Clinton Ward, age 24, of Chicago was cited for driving while license suspended and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
7/12 Location: 7600 block of W. Lincoln Highway Frankfort
Summary: Krista Bortnick, age 53, of 90 Golf View Lane in Frankfort was arrested for DUI, failure to signal, and improper lane usage.
7/14 Location: 7200 block of W. Lincoln Highway Frankfort
Summary: Rosendo Huerta-Olvera, age 40, of 130 Knollwood Circle in Matteson was arrested for DUI, improper lane usage and illegal transportation of alcohol.
7/15 Location: 19730 S. Harlem Speedway Gas Frankfort
Summary: Deputies were called regarding found items by the gas pumps. Upon arrival they spoke to an employee who stated that about 4:45am three vehicles pulled up near a gas pump and the three drivers got out. The vehicles were described as a Nissan Centra, a silver SUV and a black sedan. The subjects were younger-looking male blacks. The three gathered around the pump and attempted putting multiple credit cards into the card reader. They then began walking towards the store when a Tinley Park police car pulled into the lot. The three jumped back into their vehicles and left the area. A stack of credit cards, identification cards and some medications were found.
Deputies contacted several individuals who all stated that they had recently been victims of theft. Deputies also contacted Bolingbrook Police, Chicago Police, and Saint John, Indiana Police, in order for them to assist deputies in returning credit cards, employee ID cards, medical benefit cards and a donor card, to other victims.
Location: 20000 block of S. Graceland Lane Frankfort
Summary: Upon deputies returning recovered items to the homeowner (see above incident at Speedway Gas) they observed broken glass in the driveway. Deputies woke up the homeowner and spoke with him. He stated that his 2021 Hyundai Elantra was stolen from his driveway during the overnight hours. Deputies checked the FLOCK camera system which revealed the stolen vehicle heading northbound on Kedzie and 94th Streets. Under investigation.
7/17 Location: 19730 S. Harlem Avenue Speedway Frankfort
Summary: Employee stated around 2:48am a male black, in his 20’s, walked into the store and asked for a box of Backwoods Cigars. The employee advised they did not sell them by the box. The subject became agitated and stated that he would kill him. The subject then grabbed the coin dispenser off the counter and left the store. He entered a silver 4-door Jeep Cherokee with a sunroof.
