            Summary:  Tracy Lynn Calkins, age 33, of 544 Bluff St. in Joliet was cited for improper lighting and no valid driver’s license.

            Summary:  Terrell Hunter, age 29, of 424 Strong Avenue in Joliet was arrested for no driver’s license on person, DUI, DUI/drugs and illegal transportation of alcohol.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown kicked in the door of a residence.  Nothing was reported missing.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke into a residence and stole a gold chain necklace, a jewelry box and miscellaneous jewelry.

            Summary:  Jesse E. Orasco, age 19, of 413 Peale St. in Joliet was arrested for aggravated assault.

 

NEW LENOX AND FRANKFORT

 

1/23     Location:  300 block of Hillside Road                                   New Lenox

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a Nintendo Switch gaming console.

 

            Location:  9500 block of W. Hickory St.                               Mokena

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered a vehicle.  Nothing was stolen.

 

            Location:  9400 & 9500 block of Birch Avenue                                Mokena

            Summary: At 3:30am, deputies were dispatched to the 9400 block of Birch.  They spoke to a victim who stated that while watching TV she heard a loud crash outside.  When she went to look outside she observed an SUV traveling west on Birch.  A red plastic container was located in the area containing three safety roadside triangles.  While on scene, deputies were dispatched to 9500 block of Birch.  They spoke with a victim who stated that person/s unknown had entered his unlocked vehicle but nothing was missing.  The victim did state that the roadside safety triangles were from his property.

 

1/24     Location:  22000 block of S. Country Lane                           New Lenox

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an unlocked work vehicle and stole a backpack containing paperwork and a calculator.

 

1/25     Location:  12000 block of W. 184^th Place                              Mokena

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a key fob and a backpack.  The key fob indicated its location to be in Chicago. 

 

1/26     Location:  18000 block of S. Hunt Club Drive                       Mokena

            Summary:  Victim stated that around 7am he heard his garage door opening.  He looked out the window and observed a dark colored Lincoln Navigator on the street with the rear doors open.  The victim went downstairs and saw two unknown black males running down his driveway.  They fled the area in the vehicle. A GPS unit had been stolen out of his vehicle that was inside the garage.  The victim stated that he had a vehicle stolen in 2019 and believes the offenders may have gotten his garage door opener during that incident.

 

            Location:  12000 block of 184^th Place                                    Mokena

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke the side window of a vehicle in order to gain entry.  Nothing was taken.

 

WEST TOWNSHIPS

 

1/23     Location:  S. River Road and W. Easy St.                                         Plainfield

            Summary:  Owen Thompson, age 20, of 16056 S. Legion Court in Plainfield was cited for failure to give information to owner after accident, failure to report accident to police, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

 

LOCKPORT

 

1/22     Location:  16000 block of W. McDonald Drive

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a purse, three checks and a backpack.

 

            Location:  1200 block of Highland Avenue

            Summary:  Three subjects were observed breaking out a side window of a vehicle and entering it.  Nothing was stolen.  The subjects were also observed in the area with flashlights attempting to open vehicle doors.

 

            Location:  15000 block of S. Scott Drive

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a North Face jacket, Gucci sunglasses and a key fob. 

 

1/24     Location:  3226 S. State St.                            Conway’s Hi-Style

            Summary:  Cartier M. Collins, age 28, of 568 Dover in Joliet was arrested for aggravated discharge of a firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of stolen firearm and was held without bond on an IDOC parole violation. 

 

HOMER GLEN

 

1/21     Location:  16000 block of S. Messenger Circle

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered a residence and stole USC, a stamp collection and a can filled with quarters.

 

1/22     Location:  S. Gougar and W. 151^st St.

            Summary:  Miles V. Soliveres, age 27, of 759 Burr Oak lane in University Park was cited for driving while license suspended and was held on an active Kendall County warrant.

 

            Location:  14200 S. Bell Road                                   Jewel

            Summary:  Elizabeth Sfondeles, age 69, of 1 Galway Court in Lemont was arrested for retail theft.

 

1/24     Location:  14000 block of S. Heatherwood Drive

            Summary:  Andrzej Nykaza, age 48, of 13745 S. King Road in Homer Glen was arrested for operating an uninsured motor vehicle and DUI.

            Summary:  Sean T. Augello, age 23, of 14608 Aston Way in Lockport was arrested for DUI, failure to reduce speed, improper lane usage and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

            Summary:  Donna J. Petties, age 58, of this address was arrested for battery and obstructing justice.

            Summary:  Henry Washington, age 39, of 6039 Hohman Avenue in Hammond, IN was cited for failure to reduce speed, failure to report accident and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

 

SOUTH TOWNSHIPS

 

1/24     Location:  24000 block of S. Clair Court                   Jackson

            Summary:  Two male black subjects were observed on video surveillance entering a vehicle around 2am.  Both subjects left the area in a gray SUV.  Stolen from the vehicle was a handgun, a gun holster, wallet, employee ID card, USC, and other miscellaneous credit cards.

            Summary:  Brian Rivera, age 19, of 406 Hunter Avenue in Joliet was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.   Abraham Pizano, age 18, of 510 Third Avenue in Joliet was cited for no registration lights and no valid driver’s license.

            Summary:  Thurmond Leon Lurry II, age 43, of 2 Peale St. in Joliet was cited for failure to signal and resisting/obstructing a peace officer.

            Summary:  Peter Matalas, age 47, of 13634 Ironwood in Homer Glen was cited for expired license plates and driving while license suspended.

 

            Location:  21000 block of S. 80^th Avenue                  Frankfort

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a 2002 Honda Civic from the driveway of a residence.  The vehicle was left unlocked with a set of keys inside.

 

            Location:  I80 and LaGrange                                      Frankfort

            Summary:  Christopher L. Pierce, age 36, of 11127 10^th Avenue in Tacoma, WA was arrested for delivery of cannabis over 10 grams,, possession of cannabis over 100 grams and possession of a controlled substance.

 

            Location:  18000 block of S. Townline Road            Frankfort

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an unlocked truck and stole a garage door opener, a key fob and some change.

 

            Location:  W. Laraway Road and Center Road         Frankfort

            Summary:  Sabrina Fitts, age 24, of 6201 S. Rockwell St. in Chicago was cited for loud muffler and driving while license revoked.

 

1/15     Location:  Bryan Trail and Walter Drive                   New Lenox

            Summary:  Around 3:22am, deputies were advised by Mokena Police that a suspicious Jeep Cherokee was in the area of the 12000 block of Steamboat Springs Drive in Mokena with its occupants outside of the vehicle attempting to gain entry into parked vehicles.  While in the area, deputies observed the Cherokee with occupants and observed a white vehicle following it.  As the vehicles were fleeing, deputies turned around to follow and saw the white vehicle (2016 Kia Sorrento) off the road in a ditch.  The vehicle was unoccupied. Deputies continued their search for offender/s but were unsuccessful.        

 

Location:  2000 block of Oakview Court                   New Lenox

            Summary:  Deputies were dispatched regarding a 2016 Kia Sorento in a ditch.  The vehicle was found at the end of Maureen Drive and was unoccupied and had minor front-end damage from the crash.  Deputies identified the owner who resides in Oak Forest.  She stated that this morning she realized someone had stolen her vehicle.  The vehicle was left unlocked with the key fob inside along with a laptop computer.  The vehicle was later recovered.   (See previous blotter item.)

 

            Location:  700 block of N. Schoolhouse Road          New Lenox

            Summary:  About 5am, deputies were called to a motor vehicle theft.  Deputies had been in the area assisting Mokena Police in search of a suspect who had crashed a stolen vehicle and fled the scene on foot.  While in the area they received information regarding a suspicious person and that a 2010 Nissan Altima was stolen and heading northbound on Schoolhouse.  The owner of the Nissan stated that he had started his vehicle to warm up and went back inside.  Two minutes later, he observed his vehicle exiting his driveway.

1/16     Location:  19000 block of S. Thistle Lane                 Frankfort

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a Lincoln Way East Letterman’s Jacket (football).

 

            Location:  7400 block of W. Inverness Lane             Frankfort

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a pair of sunglasses.  A neighbor relayed to deputies that she observed on her video surveillance camera suspects exiting the vehicle and entering other parked vehicles attempting to break into them.

 

            Location:  1800 block of Pennington Court               New Lenox

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered a vehicle and stole a black backpack containing only school paperwork.  Video surveillance showed two men exiting the vehicle with hats and hoods totally obscuring their faces.  They are observed driving a red vehicle.

 

            Location:  20000 block of S. Graceland Lane                        Frankfort

            Summary:  Report taken at 5:30am.  Person/s unknown stole a 2013 Kia Optima from the street in front of a residence.  The owner left the vehicle unlocked with the keys inside.  While on scene, deputies were advised that around 3am other deputies attempted to make a traffic stop on the vehicle near Lincoln Highway and Harlem Avenue but the vehicle fled the scene.

 

WEST TOWNSHIPS

 

1/14     Location:  23000 block of W. Copper Drive                          Plainfield

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke into a home sometime in mid-December and again at the end of December/first of January.  Stolen was silver dollars, USC, 30 antique sterling silver spoons and a large quantity of various jewelry.

 

            Location:  21000 block of W. Douglas Lane                         Plainfield

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a wallet.

 

1/19     Location:  23000 block of W. Copper Drive                          Plainfield

            Summary:  Daniel J. Dupree, age 35, of 14405 S. Golden Lane in Plainfield was arrested for DUI, improper lane usage and reckless driving.

 

EAST TOWNSHIPS

 

1/15     Location:  11018 W. Wilmington-Peotone Road       Peotone            Enchanted Shores Campground

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a 2017 Dodge Ram 2500 truck from a campsite.  The vehicle was unlocked with the keys in the ignition.  The vehicle was parked in front of the camper with the owner inside.

 

 

1/19     Location:  S. Torrence and E. Steger Road                            Crete

            Summary:  Deputies responded to a call regarding a vehicle in a ditch.  Upon arrival, they observed a Honda Pilot partially off the roadway.  It was discovered that the vehicle had been stolen from Calumet Park. 

 

1/20     Location:  W. Exchange and Perry St.                                   Crete

            Summary:  Kyisha Hodges, age 28, of 158 Indiana St. in Park Forest was cited for failure to signal, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and suspended registration.

 

HOMER GLEN

 

1/14     Location:  W. 167^th St. and S. Bell Road      

            Summary:  Dante Autullo, age 40, of 15704 Brassie Court in Orland Park was cited for speeding, driving while license revoked and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

 

1/15     Location:  14719 W. 163^rd St.                        Cross of Glory Lutheran Church

            Summary:  Deputies spoke to the pastor who stated that they have experienced several cases of vandalism over the last month.  She stated that a rainbow flag that hangs on a parking lot pole has been stolen three times (12/12/20, 12/14/20, and 12/27/20).  Video camera revealed that two teenagers have climbed the pole and ripped the flag down.  On 12/31, it was discovered that the front drive blacktop had been spray painted with a homophobic slur in white paint.  The words were removed by church members.   On 1/13, it was discovered that two large metal grills, located on the patio area, had been moved and pushed down the nearby hill.

            Summary:  Andrew Miller, age 24, of 1010 N. Raynor Avenue in Joliet was cited for operating vehicle with suspended registration, driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, no valid registration and improper use of registration.

            Summary:  Silverio Terrazas, age 29, of 419 S. Raynor in Joliet was cited for no registration lights, no driver’s license on person, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and driving while license suspended.

            Summary:  Samara Reed, age 27, of 512 Kungs Way in Joliet was cited for obstructing traffic and driving while license suspended.

            Summary:  Homeowner stated that around 2:40am his dogs began barking aggressively so he woke up and went downstairs into his kitchen.  He observed an unknown male black standing in his kitchen.  When the man saw the homeowner he ran out the garage and entered an older model silver Toyota Camry that was parked across the street from the residence on the street.  The intruder stole the key fob to the homeowners’ vehicle.  The homeowner believes that he forgot to lock his vehicle and the intruder entered the vehicle and used the garage door opener to gain entry into the house.

            Summary:  Around 2am, deputies were advised that two vehicles had just been stolen out of a driveway and were heading southbound on Archer Avenue.  Upon arrival, it was learned that a 2013 white Kia Optima and a 2020 black Kia Optima had both been parked in the driveway of a residence and were unlocked with the keys inside.  One of the owners stated that while she was out walking the dog she observed both vehicles backing out of the driveway and then speed off.    Under investigation.

            Summary:  Owner of a 2013 Jeep Wrangler stated that around 7:25am he went out to warm up his vehicle and returned inside his home.  When he went back outside his vehicle was gone.  Deputies were notified by Orland Park Police that they had a hit and run personal injury accident that occurred on 159^th and Wolf Road.  The offending vehicle in that incident was the stolen Jeep.   Midlothian Police also caught sight of the vehicle but lost sight of it in the Harvey area.

            Summary:  Camila Gonzalez-Herrera, age 23, of 1210 Grandview Avenue in Lockport was arrested for aggravated battery to a peace officer, three counts of resisting a peace officer, aggravated battery to a correctional officer, and retail theft.  At 4:22 am, Herrera entered the store and wanted to purchase two cans of beer.  When the clerk informed her that no alcohol could be sold until 6am, Herrera took two cans of Icehouse beer into the woman’s washroom.  As deputies were speaking with Herrera, she became very agitated and argumentative and at one point shoved a deputy.  Several attempts were made to place Herrera into custody.  While guiding Herrera into the squad car she kicked a deputy in the thigh while continuing to disobeying direction.

12/24   Location:  7218 W. Lincoln Highway                        Speedway                   Frankfort

            Summary:  Around 5:45am, deputies were called to the business regarding an aggravated robbery that had just occurred.  Employees stated that two male/blacks, with ski masks and one with a handgun entered the station and demanded Newport cigarettes.  The employees were ordered to the back room at gunpoint and were told to assist them putting cartons of cigarettes into black garbage bags.  The men grabbed money from the register before leaving the store. 116 cartons of cigarettes were stolen.  They fled in a white Grand Cherokee with a black bag covering the license plates.   A customer was inside the store at the time but was not involved in the incident.  No one was injured.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke into a residence and stole several legal documents, titles to vehicles, savings bonds, birth certificates, jewelry, and USC.    While canvassing the neighborhood a person advised deputies that they observed a suspicious dark colored sedan, possibly a 2013-2015 Buick Regal, in the area around 6pm.  A tall male/white (approximately 6’4”) was observed standing in the front of a residence in the neighborhood.
