EAST TOWNSHIPS

 

2/21     Location:  28000 block of S. 80^th Avenue                              Peotone

            Summary:  Walonza Hall, age 40, of 9820 Folkers Road in Frankfort was cited for driving while license revoked.

 

            Location:  25000 block of S. Cottage Grove Avenue            Crete

            Summary:  A 17-year-old male resident from Monee was arrested for aggravated vehicular hijacking, aggravated battery, and battery after he struck the driver of a Nissan in the head with a firearm and then stuck the firearm into the body of the driver.  He then told the driver to get out of the vehicle and drove away.  Park Forest Police later located the vehicle with the offender and a second individual, a 15-year-old male, inside.  The 15 year old was later released.  The 17 year old was interviewed and taken into custody at River Valley Juvenile Detention Center.

 

2/22     Location:  100 block of Chicago Road                                  Monee

            Summary:  Erika Tennison, age 34, of 2213 Coldspring Road in Crown Point, IN was cited for driving while license suspended.

 

NEW LENOX AND FRANKFORT

 

2/18     Location:  1801 E. Lincoln Highway             New Lenox                 Lincoln way Central

            Summary:  Ryan P. Gardner, age 48, of 105 Delta Drive in Oakwood, IL was arrested for criminal trespass to property after he was found on the property.  Gardner has previously been issued a “No Trespass Order”.

 

2/21     Location:  Market and S. LaGrange                                       Frankfort

            Summary:  William F. Collins, age 53, of 9430 W. Hickory St. in Mokena was cited for failure to yield emergency vehicle.

 

SOUTH TOWNSHIPS

 

2/20     Location:   W. South Arsenal Road                                       Wilmington

            Summary:  Deputies were called to a residence around 3:18am regarding a possible burglary in progress.  Upon arriving, they spoke with a 66-year-old male who was standing at the end of the driveway.  Deputies placed the man into their squad car and cleared the residence.  No one was home and nothing appeared out of place. 

   Upon talking with the man, he stated that around 11:30pm he was driving on Arsenal Road when he lost control of his vehicle and it became stuck in deep snow.  He did not have a functioning cell phone so he attempted to get his vehicle out of the snow for several hours and was hoping to see another vehicle so he could flag it down for help.  After all attempts failed, the man decided to start walking for help.  He stated that he was extremely cold as the current temperature was -5 degrees. 

  The man eventually came upon a residence and went to the door because he saw a Ring doorbell.  He made every attempt to the homeowner to be alerted that he was outside, to no avail.  The man knocked on the doors and eventually broke into the house.  He realized no one was home and turned up the heat and began writing an apology letter.   Shortly after, he saw deputies arriving on the scene.

   Deputies spoke with the brother of the homeowner who stated that he had called 911 because he saw someone inside his brother’s home and he knew his brother was not at home.  Deputies contacted the homeowner, explained what had happened, and the homeowner confirmed that he had numerous alerts on his Ring App.   The homeowner then understood what had happened and declined to file a complaint.  The 66-year-old man stated that he would pay for the damage he caused while breaking in.   The man’s vehicle was found a little over a quarter of a mile away from the residence in a snowdrift.

            Summary:  Shannon K. Trovato, age 33, of 7738 Mobile Avenue in Burbank was cited for aggravated speeding.

2/20     Location:  W. 159^th and S. Parker Road

            Summary:  Rachel Arias, age 25, of 4044 N. Pioneer Avenue in Chicago was cited for aggravated speeding and driving while license suspended.

JOLIET

 

2/16     Location:  2000 block of Gaylord Road

            Summary:  Victim stated that while apartment hunting on Facebook marketplace she made contact with a listing and spoke with a man named Mr. Gray.  Mr. Gray advised that the victim needed to send him $150 before he would send an application.  The victim complied thru a banking app.  Then Mr. Gray asked for a picture of her family who would be residing in the apartment and a $500 security deposit before the victim could come see the home.  The victim complied, however began feeling like something was not right about the situation.

   The victim then contacted the listing company, “American Homes 4 Rent” and was advised that there was no one by the name of Mr. Gray that worked for them.  The victim called Mr. Gray and stated that she had called the police.  He stated he would reimburse her the money but has not done so.

 

            Location:  1000 block of E. Clinton St.

            Summary:  Victims stated they went to a Boost Mobile store and purchased a new apple phone.  After purchasing the phone, Boost employees advised them in order to transfer their information from the old phone, to contact apple customer service.  The victim looked up a phone number for Apple and called it.  They assumed that they were speaking to an Apple employee and had a lengthy conversation with them.  At one point in the conversation, they were transferred to another person who advised them to download the app “AnyDesk”.  Once the app was downloaded, the Apple employee was able to obtain all personal and financial information from the victim’s old phone.  The victim later discovered that a $900,000 withdrawal from his banking account had caused an $888,000 overdraw.  At time of report, victim was not sure who made the withdrawal but found it to be highly suspicious.     Under investigation.

            Summary:  Jason A. Cardenas, age 32, of this address, was arrested for intimidation and disorderly conduct.

 

            Location:  95 S. Chicago St.                                       Adult Detention Facility

            Summary:  Irene Lawson, age 24, of 919 N. Raynor Avenue in Joliet was arrested for aggravated assault of a correctional officer.

 

            Location:  100 block of Broadway

            Summary:  Jesse Ramos, age 28, of 409 Tallman in Romeoville was cited for driving while license revoked.

 

2/18     Location:  Essington and Caton Farm

            Summary:  Aubrey Gray, age 45, of 600 Woodruff Avenue in Joliet was cited for driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, improper lighting and illegal transportation of alcohol.

            Summary:  Terrence T. Williams, age 25, of 1107 Magnolia Avenue in Joliet was charged with criminal damage to government property.

            Summary:  Edrick Johnson, age 30, of 209 Lincoln St. in Joliet was cited for driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and disobeying a traffic control device.

            Summary:  David R. Harvey, age 65, of 1524 N. Raynor in Joliet was cited for driving while license revoked and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

            Summary:  Victim stated that he drove her 2013 Hyundai Elantra to the gas station, parked it, and went inside to make a purchase.  She left the vehicle unlocked and running but brought the keys inside with her.  When she exited the store, she realized person/s unknown had stolen the vehicle.   A purse was inside the vehicle at time of theft.

            Summary:  Owner stated upon arriving at the establishment around 5am he noticed the back door had been forced open and chairs were knocked over inside.  He then observed two of the gambling machines had been vandalized.

            Summary:  William L. Hinton, age 59, of this address, was arrested for two counts of domestic battery, one count of aggravated battery to a peace officer and one count of aggravated assault.

            Summary:  Owner stated that person/s unknown stole a 2020 Utility 300R wide dry box trailer from the parking lot.

 

2/4       Location:  12000 block of W. Derby Lane

            Summary:  Around 12:45am, victim observed a male white subject dress in black clothing and a mask close the door of her vehicle.  When the victim asked what he was doing he stated that he ‘just needed money’.  The offender then took off running.  He got away with $2 from inside the vehicle.

 

WEST TOWNSHIPS

 

2/3       Location:  Caton Farm Road and Drauden Road                   Plainfield

            Summary:  Jamie Collazo, age 56, of 1501 Prairie Creek Trail in Joliet was cited for driving while license suspended.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown sawed off the catalytic converter from a Ford box truck.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown cut off the catalytic converters from two Ford E-350 box trucks.

 

2/6       Location:  500 block of Webster Lane                                   Wheatland

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a debit card and an IPad.  Victim checked his account and found that the offender had already used it at Jewel, Wendy’s, White Castle, Marathon Gas, McDonalds, and a food mart in Harvey.

2/3       Location:  I80 and N. Ridge Road                             Frankfort

            Summary:  Ivan Martinez-Gutierrez, age 35, of 1008 Michigan St. in Storm Lake, Iowa was cited for improper use of left lane and following too closely.  He was also arrested for continuing financial crimes enterprise, possession of counterfeit credit/debit cards and identity theft.  Yondriel Pajan-Mustelier, age 36, of 409 Dodge St. in Algona, Iowa was arrested for continuing financial crimes enterprise, possession of counterfeit credit/debit cards and identity theft.   The arrests were made after deputies stopped the vehicle, interviewed the men, and upon completion of their investigation located over 67 fraudulent Walmart gift cards in their possession.

            Summary:  Roy N. Viverette Jr., age 28, of 6751 Nebraska Avenue in Hammond, IN was arrested for criminal damage to property and resisting a peace officer.

2/2       Location:  500 block of N. Hebbard

            Summary:  Kevin A. Bonds, Jr., age 40, of 22 Mississippi Avenue in Joliet was arrested for assault and criminal trespass to property.

 

2/3       Location:  N. Broadway and Division St.

            Summary:  Derrell L. Humphries, age 42, of 2020 Tamarack Drive in Joliet was cited for no registration lights and driving while license revoked.

 

            Location:  Briggs and Washington

            Summary:  Miguel Arenas, age 35, of 8 Barr Elm Avenue in Joliet was cited for speeding, driving while license suspended and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

 

            Location:  2100 block of Elmwood Lane

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a 2019 Chevy Trax from the driveway of a residence.  The owner of the vehicle was in possession of the only key to the vehicle.

 

            Location:  Voyager Lane and Plainfield Road

            Summary:  Ashley M. McReynolds, age 27, of 16435 Club Court in Crest Hill was arrested for motor vehicle theft and was held on a no bond warrant from IDOC.

 

2/4       Location:  95 S. Chicago St.                           Will County Adult Detention Facility

            Summary:  Zachary M. Thomas, age 30, of 901 Dobson Road in Mesa, AZ was charged with two counts of criminal damage to government property after he kicked a window until it shattered.

 

2/8       Location:  W. Jefferson and S. Larkin

            Summary:  Jessica M. Islas, age 28, of 33 NE Circle Drive in Joliet was cited for improper lane usage and no valid driver’s license.

 

            Location:  21900 SW Frontage Road                         Leisure Lakes

            Summary:  Person/s unknown forced entry into an RV and stole a sewing machine, battery pack, and two catalytic converters.  Victim stated that she was advised that multiple vehicles had their catalytic converters cut off their recreational vehicles within the past few months.

            Summary:  Church Pastor stated that person/s unknown contacted multiple church members via text pretending to be him.  Members stated that the unknown person who sent the text asked the members to purchase Visa gift cards.  Under investigation.

 

            Location:  S. Messenger Circle and W. 159^th St.

            Summary:  Todd Wysock, age 43, of 932 Herr Drive in New Lenox was arrested for improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, no headlight, failure to give information after a crash, failure to report an accident, illegal transportation of alcohol, DUI and aggravated DUI.

 

1/30     Location:  15301 S. Bell Road                                   Megaplex and Elite Fitness

            Summary:  Victim stated that person/s unknown went into his gym bag and stole his wallet while he was working out in the gym.   On 2/1/21, a second victim reported that person/s unknown went into his coat jacket pocket and stole his wallet.  Several credit cards that had been stolen from both victims were being used at area stores.   Through video surveillance and witnesses that identified the offender, Sheriff’s deputies went to Nicholas Bellair’s home, at 13451 Haggard Street in Homer Glen, spoke with him, and arrested him.  He was charged with the following felonies:  burglary, 2 counts of theft over $500, and possession of another person’s credit cards.

1/31     Location:  500 block of N. Marley Road                               New Lenox

            Summary:  An elderly victim reported that around 5:30pm an unknown male Hispanic knocked on her front door and stated that he was from ComEd.  The man explained that there was a fatal car accident down the road and that a vehicle had knocked down a transformer.  He asked to come in and check her circuit breaker.  The victim allowed the man inside and brought him to her basement.  The man asked the victim to tap on the circuit breaker with a small pipe while she counted to thirty.   The man was on his cell phone during the entire incident.  The victim later discovered that she was a victim of a ruse burglary.  Offenders had stolen her fine jewelry and USC.

 

JOLIET

 

1/26     Location:  N. Eastern and E. Jefferson

            Summary:  Jasmine N. Smith, age 33, of 1449 Pioneer Road in Crest Hill was cited for no registration lights and driving while license revoked.

 

            Location:  Western and N. William

            Summary:  Summer D. Graham, age 26, of 963 Campbell St. in Joliet was cited for no child restraints, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and driving while license suspended.

 

            Location:  N. Hickory and Western

            Summary:  Mauricio Flores-DeAquino, age 24, of 305 Hickory in Joliet was cited for following too closely and no valid driver’s license.

 

            Location:  1600 block of E. Cass

            Summary:  Dalton L. Sparks, age 28, of 1402 Main St. in Crete was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, no valid driver’s license and improper display of registration.  He was also held on an active FTA warrant.

            Summary:  Victor J. Hall, age 29, of 808 W. 76 Street in Chicago was charged with aggravated battery to a correctional officer.

 

1/28     Location:  Delaney and Rt. 52

            Summary:  Jaylen C. Berry, age 24, of 60 Treehouse Road in Matteson was cited for driving while license suspended and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

 

            Location:  20607 Burl Court                           Chicago Blind Company

            Summary:  Owner stated person/s unknown stole a 53-foot trailer by pulling into the business with a white semi-truck, attaching it, and driving off with it.  Inside the trailer were several high-end machines and materials for the custom blind business.

 

1/29     Location:  23000 block of S. Frontage Rd.

            Summary:  Elderly victims stated that around 4pm, an unknown male white subject approached him while he was outside and began talking about the victims’ truck.  After finishing the conversation, the victim went into the house where he found that a second unknown male white subject had been inside the house with his wife.  The second subject had asked the wife to check the basement water pipes.   The subject advised the wife to bang on the pipes while he was upstairs checking all the faucets.  It was later discovered that the couple were victims of a ruse burglary.  Offenders stole a safe that was in a bedroom.  The safe contained legal and financial documents.

 

            Location:  W. Jefferson and N. Hammes

            Summary:  Jason J. Jackson, age 40, of 200 Reichman St. in Joliet was cited for driving while license revoked.

 

            Location:  W. Jefferson and N. Hammes

            Summary:  Juan M. Moffett, age 32, of 613 Grant Avenue in Joliet was cited for driving while license suspended.

 

            Location:  Berkley Avenue

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke into a residence and stole a safe containing personal paperwork and USC.  Also stolen was an Apple Watch, IPad, 65” TV, a sound bar, PlayStation 4, 55” TV and an Xbox One S.

 

1/30     Location:  21900 SW Frontage Road             Leisure Lakes Resort

            Summary:  Victim stated that while checking on his motor home he found that person/s unknown had cut the catalytic converter from it.  Victim found other vehicles in the area that also had catalytic converters removed from their motor homes.

 

1/31     Location:  W. Division and S. Broadway

            Summary:  Phillip A. Gibbs, age 23, of 1700 Arbor Lane in Crest Hill was arrested for DUI and driving too fast for conditions.

 

2/1       Location:  100 W. Jefferson St.                                  Will County Courthouse

            Summary:  Barry V. Ware, age 58, of 1315 Rowell Avenue in Joliet was arrested for possession of a controlled substance after he emptied his pockets at the required security metal detectors. 

 

            Location:  Berkley Avenue

            Summary:  Victim advised that on 1/29/21 around 3pm, two male Hispanic subjects came to his door and stated they were from ComEd and needed to check the wiring in the residence because an electrical fire had occurred in the neighborhood.  Victim allowed the subjects inside because he believed it to be an emergency.  The victim led one subject to his garage to check the fuse box.  The men left in a white Mazda or Toyota SUV with no identifiers.  After the two departed the victim called ComEd who stated that no technicians were in the area.   The victim did not realize he had been a victim of a ruse burglary until this date, 2/1/21, when he realized a safe had been stolen from a bedroom.

1/26     Location:  E. Baltimore and N. Kankakee St.                        Wilmington

            Summary:  Danielle Christensen, age 43, of 18329 Commercial Drive in Symerton was cited for no valid driver’s license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

 

            Location:  24000 block of W. Lorenzo Road                         Wilmington

            Summary: Two unknown male blacks were observed walking near the rear of a truck holding two boxes.  The owner of the truck shouted at the subjects who then dropped the boxes and took off in a red Dodge minivan.

            Summary:  Luis Novoa, age 24, of 3622 S. Central Avenue in Cicero was cited for aggravated speeding.

 

1/28     Location:  S. Rt. 394 and W. Elms Court Lane                                  Crete

            Summary:  Traevion S. Gladney, age 19, of 8421 S. Honore St. in Chicago was cited for aggravated speeding.

 

WEST TOWNSHIPS

            Summary:  Luis Patino, age 50, of 545 Holloway Drive in Romeoville was arrested for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, improper lane usage, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, driving while license revoked and DUI.

            Summary:  Shane Monaco, age 35, of 6116 Smokey Ridge Drive in Plainfield was cited for failure to secure child in restraint and no valid driver’s license.

            Summary:  Stacey D. James, age 48, of 321 Stonegate Road in Bolingbrook was taken into custody by Sheriff’s Fugitive Warrants Division.  She was booked on three active warrants.

            Summary:  Derrick R. Cole, age 49, of 611 E. Cass in Joliet was charged with aggravated battery after he got into a physical altercation with a correctional officer and punched the officer several times.

            Summary:  Juan Ramiro Villarreal, age 36, of 1114 E. Washington St. in Joliet was arrested for aggravated battery after he pulled a knife and cut the ear and neck area of a 21-year-old male during a physical altercation.  The victim was transported to Silver Cross with non-life threatening injuries.

 

1/24     Location:  2400 block of Canal St.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke into a tool shed and stole 11 power tools and 22 batteries.
