EAST TOWNSHIPS
8/18 Location: 23949 S. Western Avenue Crete Pack It In Storage
Summary: Business owner reported that unknown male subjects cut off the lock of the property gate and drove a dark colored truck onto the property around 3am. Those subjects then cut the locks off 24 storage units and stole an unknown amount of property. On 8/24, the business owner was able to report to deputies that they had spoken to three victims who owned three storage units that had been burglarized. Stolen from these units was several construction tools, a ladder, several power tool sets and batteries, lawn maintenance equipment, and a 9.9hp outboard motor. Other victims were still being contacted at time of report.
8/19 Location: E. 34th Place and Chicago Road Steger
Summary: James J. McCabe, age 25, of 307 Golfview in Schererville, IN was arrested for DUI, improper turn at intersection and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
8/20 Location: 30000 block of S. Yates Avenue Beecher
Summary: Person/s unknown broke into two outbuildings and stole a 2004 U.S. Cargo brand flatbed trailer, a tool kit, a 440cc ATV, a 50cc Suzuki ATV, a lawnmower, and a snow blower.
Location: 25608 S. Dixie Highway Crete Crete Self Storage
Summary: An employee reported that while arriving at work he observed the security gate to be open. He observed the hydraulic chain to be broken. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that 24 storage units had the locks cut off the doors and were entered. Security footage revealed that three subjects drove a dark colored Chevy truck into the lot about 2:30am and proceeded to steal items from the units.
8/24 Location: S. Dixie Highway and W. Kent Avenue Crete
Summary: Ashley Haynes, age 26, of 297 Pattie Lane in Lynwood was cited for aggravated speeding.
Location: 25660 S. Rt. 45 Storage Squares Monee
Summary: Manager stated that during the overnight hours person/s unknown cut the security chain to the electric gate in order to gain access to the property. The offenders then cut the locks to 27 storage units and loaded up their black Chevy truck and drove off. Surveillance video revealed this occurred at 2:35am. It was unknown at time of report what was stolen from the units.

8/18 Location: E. Cass and Criswell Drive
Summary: Steven Helms, age 28, of 130 Marley Road in New Lenox was cited for suspended registration.
8/19 Location: Plainfield Road and Black Road
Summary: Anastasia Hegwood, age 26, of 8107 S. Damen in Chicago was cited for no registration lights, no valid registration and driving while license suspended.
Location: I80 and Richards St.
Summary: Michelle Garrett, age 39, of 1016 Thornton in Lockport was cited for driving while license suspended.
8/20 Location: I80 and Houbolt Road
Summary: Lavon Vaughns, age 32, of 16230 Clifton Park Avenue in Markham was arrested for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, possession of stolen firearm, no FOID card, aggravated unlawful use/possession of a weapon by a felon.
Location: Von Esch Road and Caton Farm Road
Summary: Jordan Garcia, age 22, of 256 Stern Avenue in Crest Hill was cited for failure to signal and aggravated speeding.
Location: 300 block of Schorie Avenue
Summary: Antonio Hannah, age 55, of 301 Schorie Avenue in Joliet was arrested for battery.
8/21 Location: E. Cass and Maple
Summary: Robert L. Byrd, age 48, of 109 Hobbs Avenue in Joliet was arrested for no registration lights, no tail lights, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, driving while license suspended, DUI, and two counts of aggravated DUI.
Location: 500 block of Sehring
Summary: Witness stated that he observed a dirt bike riding down Sehring Street when a Jeep Cherokee started following it. The witness then hear six to eight sounds of gunfire and saw the dirt bike speed up as the Jeep followed. Deputies located eight spent shell casings near Sehring and McKinley.
Location: 22000 block of S. Bramble Hill Road
Summary: Victim stated that around 6:30am he was watching TV in his home when he heard his 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee start up. He went outside and observed two male black subjects inside his vehicle, pull out of the driveway, and drive off. He then observed a black Mitsubishi with a male black driver pull behind the Cherokee and drive off. The victim believes the offenders entered the rear door of his attached garage, took the keys from his workbench and stole the vehicle.
8/22 Location: W. Jefferson and N. Midland
Summary: Craig D. Sneed, age 46, of 103 Grandview Place in Lockport was arrested for armed habitual criminal, armed violence, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, no FOID card, manufacture/possession of a controlled substance, resisting a police officer, possession of drug equipment and possession of cannabis over 10 grams.
Location: S. Briggs and 5th Avenue
Summary: Jeffrey Hernandez, age 18, of 629 E. Benton St. in Joliet was arrested for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, no FOID card, possession of ammunition, no valid driver’s license and possession of a stolen firearm. While checking on information regarding the weapon it was discovered that it had been reported stolen from Miami Dade County, Florida.
8/23 Location: 95 S. Chicago St. Adult Detention Facility
Summary: Alexis Cadenas, age 29, no address, was charged with criminal damage to government property.

Summary: Paul L. Emerick, age 66, of 714 Cayuga Street in Joliet was arrested for aggravated battery to a peace officer.
8/24 Location: E. Washington St. and Independence Avenue
Summary: Arierous King, age 29, of 1701 Heiden St. in Crest Hill was cited for one headlight, driving while license suspended and speeding.
Location: S. Chicago and E. Laraway Road
Summary: Armon Jones, age 21, of 15644 Prince Drive in South Holland was cited for disobeying a traffic sign, driving while license suspended and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

Summary: Maritza Zavala-Diaz, age 31, of 507 Elwood Avenue in Joliet was cited for driving while license suspended and speeding in a construction zone.

Summary: Jalon Kinney, age 20, of 1501 Woodbridge Road in Joliet was cited for driving while license suspended.
Location: 400 block of Bruce Road
Summary: Jaime Newell, age 22, of 2022 Lawrence in Lockport was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, no valid driver’s license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

Summary: Fredrick Ewing, age 57, of 1010 S. Buchanan in Wilmington was arrested for DUI and speeding.
8/22 Location: 36000 block of S. Irish Lane Wilmington
Summary: David Alexandro Martinez, age 35, of 36401 Irish Lane in Custer Park was cited for driving while license revoked. Nicole M. Palacios, age 38, of 36401 S. Irish Lane in Custer Park was cited for no valid driver’s license and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

Summary: Kyle Lavigne, age 25, of 81 Camelot Drive in Gardner was arrested for aggravated DUI, driving while license revoked, unlawful possession of cannabis, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and improper lane usage.

Summary: Zachary Youell, age 23, of 34107 S. Rivals Road in Wilmington was cited for no driver’s license on person and aggravated speeding.

8/18 Location: E. Lincoln Hwy and N. Schoolhouse Rd. New Lenox
Summary: Matthew T. Medina, age 20, of 10653 Maue Drive in Orland Park was arrested for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
8/20 Location: 19730 S. Harlem Avenue Speedway Frankfort
Summary: Person/s unknown stole a 2019 Audi A5 from the parking lot of the gas station. The owner stated that he left his vehicle running with the key fob inside to run into the gas station. The owner’s cell phone and tablet were inside the vehicle at the time of theft.
8/21 Location: I80 and I355 New Lenox
Summary: Aldo Rojas, age 40, of 14933 Rockwell in Harvey was arrested for speeding, improper lane usage, no seatbelt, driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and DUI.
Location: W. 191st St. and S. 88th Avenue Frankfort
Summary: Aaron D. Hill, age 27, of 3220 Monroe St. in Bellwood was cited for stopping/parking on roadway, disobeying a traffic control device and fleeing/eluding a police officer.
8/22 Location: S. Spencer Road and St. Clair Lane New Lenox
Summary: David A. Mclaughlin, age 34, of 102 Ford Drive in New Lenox was cited for driving too fast for conditions, improper lane usage, illegal transportation of alcohol and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
Location: 19730 S. Harlem Avenue Speedway Frankfort
Summary: Deputies received an alarm call at 3:38am. Upon arrival they spoke with an employee who stated that she observed a Dodge Caravan pull up to the pump while she was cleaning up an area of the store. An unknown male black subject exited the passenger side of the van and entered the store. The subject had a soft cooler type bag with him and ran behind the counter where he began loading up Newport cigarette cartons into the bag. The employee confronted the subject and grabbed his arm. The subject then threatened the employee and pushed her. The subject then fled the scene in the van with about 10 cartons of cigarettes.
8/23 Location: 7700 block of W. Frankfort Square Road Frankfort
Summary: Person/s unknown stole a 2018 Ford F250 from a residence. The vehicle was unlocked and had the keys inside at time of theft. It was later discovered that Illinois State Police District 5 had reported the vehicle abandoned on the interstate and had it towed. The owner was able to recover the vehicle.
8/24 Location: S. 116th and W. 195th St. Frankfort
Summary: Catherine B. Eckert, age 19, of 7242 W. Hickory Creek Drive in Frankfort was arrested for harassment through electronic communications.
Location: 17000 block of S. Foxhound Lane Frankfort
Summary: Matthew B. Hunt, age 31, of 13150 W. Bruns Road in Manhattan was arrested for criminal damage to government property.
WEST TOWNSHIPS
8/20 Location: 10S122 Schoger Drive Wheatland
Summary: Owner of Ray’s Towing stated that he was commissioned to tow a Hyundai Sonata from Oswego to his tow yard. While reporting the VIN number to Kendall County Police it was discovered that the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Hammond, IN in August.
8/23 Location: S. Budler and Weslake Plainfield
Summary: Steven Guajardo, age 22, of 1500 S. State St. in Chicago was arrested for manufacture/delivery of cannabis under 500 grams, possession of cannabis over 100 grams and possession of drug equipment.
HOMER GLEN
8/19 Location: W. 159th St. and S. Cedar Road
Summary: Nikolas Alvarez, age 20, of 444 Bourbon Lane in Naperville was cited for speeding and driving while license suspended.
8/20 Location: W. Bruce and S. Cedar
Summary: Ruben John III, age 31, of 1940 Harvey Avenue in Harvey was cited for aggravated speeding.
8/21 Location: W. 159th St. and S. Gougar Road
Summary: Jaclyn Vavrik, age 35, of 200 N. Farrell Road in Lockport was cited for no valid driver’s license.
8/22 Location: 15000 block of S. Bell Road
Summary: Jeremy Vandermeer, age 42, of 1108 Weston Way in Joliet was cited for aggravated speeding and illegal screeching of tires.
8/23 Location: W. 159th St. and S. Cedar Road
Summary: Ethan Horras, age 24, of 16014 S. Codo Drive in Homer Glen was cited for aggravated speeding.
Location: 14747 W. 159th St. BP Gas Station
Summary: Deputies responded to an activated alarm around 3:37am. Upon arrival, they discovered an entry door to be shattered. Upon review of video surveillance, it was learned that three male black subjects entered the store with white garbage bags and filled them up with cigarettes. A sledgehammer was used to break out the glass entry door. The subjects were driving a silver Infinity.
Location: 15060 S. Bell Road Speedway Gas
Summary: Deputies responded to an activated alarm around 3:42am. Upon arrival, they discovered an entry door to be shattered. A lower cabinet was opened where cigarettes had been stored. Store manager arrived on scene and estimated that at least 70 cartons of Marlboro Lights were stolen. Security footage is being reviewed. This incident and the above incident at BP Gas Station are believed to be connected. Both incidents are under investigation.
