6/1       Location:  200 block of Somerset Court                                New Lenox

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke two windows of a Dodge van that was parked in a driveway overnight.  Nothing was missing from inside the vehicle.

 

6/3       Location:  W. 187^th St. and W.  Southwest Highway            Frankfort

            Summary:  Michael R. Yarus, age 31, of 10545 Heaton Court in Mokena was arrested for possession of drug equipment and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

 

            Location:  1900 block of E. Lincoln Highway                       New Lenox

            Summary:  Cody J. Erikson, age 18, of 11541 Bryn Mawr Way in Mokena was arrested for aggravated speeding, failure to wear a seatbelt, possession of open alcohol, DUI/drugs, possession of cannabis under 100g and possession of drug equipment.  Two 18 year-old passengers were also cited for possession of open alcohol.

 

6/6       Location:  W. Lincoln Highway and S. 78^th Avenue             Frankfort

            Summary:  Frank S. Bleskin, age 57, of 19918 Catherine Lane in Mokena was arrested for DUI, driving in wrong lane and failure to notify SOS of address change.

 

6/7       Location:  20912 S. Frankfort Square Road                           Indian Trail Elementary

            Summary:  School Principal reported that when she arrived at the school on this date she observed a window, next to the main entrance door, to be shattered.  Three rocks were discovered near the window.  Video surveillance is being reviewed.

 

WEST TOWNSHIPS

 

6/2       Location:  13000 block of S. Budler Road                             Plainfield

            Summary:  Fidelia Guerrero, age 40, of 22200 W. Norwich Court in Plainfield was arrested for DUI and improper lane usage.

 

            Location:  24125 W. 111^th St.                         EcoClean                                 Wheatland

            Summary:  Office manager stated, person/s unknown cut the catalytic converters off three company owned vans.  Video surveillance was being reviewed for possible suspects.

 

6/3       Location:  W. Feeney Drive and S. Howard St.                                 Plainfield

            Summary:  Erykah Lurry, age 20, of 919 Lois Place in Joliet was cited for aggravated speeding.

 

6/4       Location:  23838 W. Industrial Dr.                Warner’s Decking                   Plainfield

            Summary:  Person/s unknown cut off the catalytic converter of a company pickup truck.

6/2       Location:  E. Exchange and S. Klemme                                 Crete

            Summary:  Joshua Kirby, age 45, of 13022 County Line Road in Crown Point, IN was cited for no seat belt, speeding, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and driving while license suspended.

 

6/7       Location:  24000 block of S. Michaels St.                             Crete

            Summary:  Severino Zavala, age 42, of 7700 Ferdinand Avenue in Bridgeview was arrested for DUI, improper lane usage, illegal transportation of open alcohol, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and driving while license suspended.

            Summary:  Elijah Barfield, age 59, of 702 Arbor in Joliet was cited for driving while license suspended.

 

6/5       Location:  Bruce Road and S. Briggs

            Summary:  Elika Gallarzo Herrera, age 25, of 1450 N. 46^th Court in Melrose Park was arrested for DUI, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, driving with expired license plates, no seat belt, disobeying a stop sign and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

 

HOMER GLEN

 

6/1       Location:  14053 S. Bell Road                                   Home Depot

            Summary:  Victim stated that when he exited the store he observed an unknown male/white subject with short hair standing next to his work van.  The driver’s window had been left open.  The victim then saw the subject enter a tan Pontiac Vibe and leave the parking lot.  Three blue bankers’ bags had been stolen that contained miscellaneous mail, a $4,000 bank check, sunglasses and a conceal-carry permit.   The victim drove and caught up to the Pontiac on Bell Road.  The Pontiac took off at a high rate of speed while passing other vehicles to get away from the victim.  The victim did not continue to chase the offender.

 

            Location:  13000 block of S. Addison Trail

            Summary.  Person/s unknown stole eight 1x12-cedar boards valued at $600, from a work site.

 

6/2       Location:  W. Beaver Lake Drive and S. Bell Road

            Summary:  Ricardo Segura Martinez, age 28, of 10 Oak Street in Countryside was cited for no valid license and failure to yield.  He was held on an active Cook County warrant.

 

6/4       Location:  14000 block of S. Town Center Drive

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a white 2003 Shadow Master 30 ft. enclosed trailer from a parking lot. The trailer had miscellaneous documents and realty signs inside.

 

SOUTH TOWNSHIPS

 

6/3       Location:  30000 block of S. Cedar Road                              Manhattan

            Summary:  Person/s unknown cut the locks off two storage trailers and attempted to cut off the locking mechanisms but were unsuccessful. 

 

6/4       Location:  E. Baltimore and Daniels St.                                 Wilmington

            Summary:  Chandler A. Wilke, age 23, of 14831 S. Hawthorn Circle in Plainfield was cited for driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, expired registration and was held on an active Kendall County warrant.

 

6/5       Location:  29000 block of SE Frontage Road                        Wilmington

            Summary:  Joshua Bilthuis, age 24, of 374 Park St. in Manteno was cited for failure to give information or render aid, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, failure to report accident, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

 

JOLIET

 

6/2       Location:  E. Zarley Blvd.

            Summary:  Deputies were called around 11pm to a shots fired call.  Complainant stated that he heard three shots being fired across from the nearby fire station.  Deputies canvassed that area and found two bullet casings in the parking lot near a Cadillac.  The two rear tires of the vehicle had been shot and were deflated.  No injuries were reported.

 

6/3       Location:  Caton Farm Road and Enid St.

            Summary:  Brendan Laporta, age 20, of 3909 Juniper Avenue in Joliet was cited for aggravated speeding, driving while license suspended, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

 

6/4       Location:  1000 block of New Lenox Road

            Summary:  Michael J. Lee, age 55, of 221 5^th Avenue in Joliet was arrested for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, improper display of registration, no valid registration, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, expired driver’s license, DUI, and aggravated DUI.

 

            Location:  Louis Road and Houston Avenue

            Summary:  Nakia Hosey, age 35, of 981 Aurora in Aurora was cited for aggravated driving while license revoked, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and unlawful possession of cannabis by driver.

 

6/5       Location:  116 Logan Avenue

            Summary:  Nicole Tovar, age 30, of this address was cited for fleeing/eluding a police officer and resisting a peace officer.

 

6/6       Location:  N. Broadway and Theodore

            Summary:  Michael V. Huffer, age 36, of 410 Center St. in Hobart, IN was taken into custody on an active Kankakee County warrant.

 

            Location:  95 S. Chicago St.                           Adult Detention Facility

            Summary:  Antwyn Dennis Bowie, age 32, of 424 W. 119^th St. in Chicago was charged with battery after he struck another inmate in the face causing multiple facial fractures.

 

6/7       Location:  Sterling and Leach

            Summary:  Jesus Vega Ortiz, age 25, of 250 Krakar in Joliet was cited for driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, operating vehicle with revoked registration, no front registration plate and failure to signal while turning.

EAST TOWNSHIPS

 

5/25     Location:   S. Fountainview Drive                 Crete

            Summary:  Sheriffs were called to a solicitor complaint where they spoke to an elderly person who stated that an unknown white SUV followed him home while he was driving back to his residence.  The vehicle pulled in behind him and a male/white, stocky man wearing a reflective vest said to him that he needed to enter the home to test the water.  The victim allowed the unknown man into the home where he turned on the water and then directed the victim out to the backyard patio.  The unknown man then began discussing repairs needing to be done on the victims’ deck.  After a few minute conversation, the man left in his vehicle.  Nothing appeared to be stolen at time of report.

5/26     Location:  S. Cemetery and W. Smiley Road                        Reed

            Summary:  Vincent L. DeSalvo, age 62, of 24717 W. Fair Oaks Drive in Braidwood was cited for driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and expired registration.

 

5/27     Location:  24001 W. Lorenzo Road               Mohsen Truck Stop                Wilmington

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke the seals off eight semi-trailers that were parked in the business parking lot.  Eight semi-trailer drivers filed reports with deputies.

 

5/29     Location:  I55 and W. Coal City Road                       Reed

            Summary:  Rodney E. Otis, age 38, of 764 Lincoln Avenue in Decatur was cited for aggravated speeding and aggravated driving while license revoked.  Tobias L. Williams, age 45, of 1440 Wellington Way in Decatur was arrested for obstructing justice, possession of open alcohol, and depositing material on highway.  He was held on an active Macon County warrant.

5/26     Location:  2601 Canal St.                               Canal Auto Salvage

            Summary:  Two 16 year-old males were charged with criminal trespass to property after they were identified as the offenders who had broken several windows of the business and motor vehicles.

5/25     Location:  95 S. Chicago St.                           Adult Detention Facility

            Summary:  Malik M. Elam, age 22, of 2940 E. 223^rd St. in Sauk Village was charged with obstructing justice after refusing to attend his Cook County court hearing.

 

            Location:  95 S. Chicago St.                           Adult Detention Facility

            Summary:  Johnathan N. Mosley, age 29, of 192 Roberts Road in Bolingbrook was cited for obstructing justice after he refused to go to his DuPage County court hearing.

 

            Location:  S. Briggs and 5^th Avenue

            Summary:  Jahreign Burgin, age 30, of 5700 Kennedy Terrace in Gary, IN was cited for driving while license suspended and aggravated speeding.

            Summary:  Gabriel Barrios, age 35, of 504 N. Franklin in Joliet was cited for disobeying a traffic control device, driving while license revoked, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, improper use of registration and expired registration.

 

5/26     Location:  E. Cass and Highland Park Drive

            Summary:  Michael W. Waszak, age 19, of 1434 Red Top Lane in Minooka was cited for no seat belts, no valid license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

            Summary:  Aurelys Lugo, age 20, of 2258 W. Coulter in Chicago was cited for aggravated speeding.

 

            Location:  W. Jefferson and N. Larkin

            Summary:  Amanda Alaimo, age 31, of 920 Manor Court in Joliet was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.  Jacob Cardenas, age 26, of 1851 Asbury Circle in Joliet was cited for driving while license suspended and improper lighting.  Cardenas was held on three active Will County warrants.

 

            Location:  Plainfield Road and Wilcox

            Summary:  James Sankey III, age 40, of 19 N. Main St. in Glen Ellyn was cited for driving while license suspended, illegal use of cell phone and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

 

            Location:  95 S. Chicago St.                           Adult Detention Facility

            Summary:  Ceandre Moore, age 31, of 945 Purdue Lane in Matteson was charged with battery after punching another inmate. 

 

5/27     Location:  3000 block of Galena Drive

            Summary:  An elderly victim stated that around 1pm a male/white man knocked on her front door and asked to check her water due to some contamination in the area.  The victim allowed the man into the home and he went to the kitchen and then to the bathroom and turned on the water.  The man then left.  He was described as 5’10” and about 200lbs, wearing beige khaki pants and driving a red SUV.  It was later discovered that silver coins inside a plastic bag were stolen from the home.     

 

            Location:  23580 W. Bluff Road                    The Scotts Company

            Summary:  Manager advised that on 5/22 he observed on video surveillance, a large, plain white box truck enter and leave the property numerous times.  On today’s date he discovered nine empty pallets and shrink-wrap stuffed between other pallets.  The nine pallets had 70 bags of Miracle Gro Potting mix on them.  He later discovered that a marketplace listing was selling them on Facebook. 

 

5/28     Location:  Richards and E. Washington

            Summary:  Jolene Tyler, age 29, of 112 Luana Road in Joliet was cited for improper lighting, no valid license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

 

            Location:  S. Briggs and E. Washington

            Summary:  Quinnette Amos, age 36, of 281 Edgehill Drive in Bolingbrook was cited for no registration lights, one headlight, no taillights, and driving while license suspended.

 

            Location:  McDonough and Willow

            Summary:  Shantell Bew, age 24, of 704 McDonough in Joliet was cited for driving while license suspended.

 

            Location:  95 S. Chicago St.                           Adult Detention Facility

            Summary:  Rocky D. Ponton, age 46, of 1102 Beauchamp Avenue in Manteno was charged with obstructing justice after he refused to be transported to Kankakee County for a court hearing.

 

5/29     Location:  E. Jefferson and Mary St.

            Summary:  Leonel Hernandez, age 30, of 444 Mallview Lane in Bolingbrook was cited for driving while license revoked.

 

            Location:  95 S. Chicago St.                                       Adult Detention Facility

            Summary:  Derrell D. Draper, age 38, of 8635 S. 87^th Avenue in Justice was charged with public indecency.

 

            Location:  E. Zarley Blvd.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a Toyota Camry after the owner pulled it out of the garage, left it running, and ran into the house for a few minutes.   Later in the day, Joliet Police handled a motor vehicle accident that the Camry was involved in.  

 

            Location:  W. Jefferson and S. Hammes

            Summary:  Angelo Lee, age 22, of 816 2^nd Avenue in Joliet was cited for no front license plate, no valid license, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

 

5/30     Location:  McDonough and Mission

            Summary:  Arnoldo Chavez, age 35, of 914 Greenleaf Drive in Joliet was arrested for improper lane usage and DUI.

 

5/31     Location:  Collins and E. Jackson

            Summary:  Elizandro Rodriguez, age 32, of 804 Woodruff in Joliet was cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle and failure to signal.  He was held on an active Will County warrant.

 

            Location:  Bradford Road

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a catalytic converter off a vehicle that was parked in a parking lot overnight.

 

HOMER GLEN

 

5/27     Location:  S. Cokes Road

            Summary:  An elderly couple stated that around 10am an unknown man, driving a red, possible Chevy Blazer, wearing a medical mask, baseball cap, dark shirt and pants, and a yellow reflective vest, knocked on their door.  The man stated that he worked for the water company and wanted to inspect the water because a person in the neighborhood was sick.  The man was allowed inside the home and went to the kitchen sink.  He then asked for a container so he could take a water sample.  The man then left after about 10 minutes.  It was later discovered that a safe with miscellaneous legal documents inside was stolen.  It is believed that a second person entered the home while the couple was in the kitchen with the man.

 

5/28     Location:  S. Bell and W. 143^rd St.

            Summary:  David M. Borik, age 25, of 14541 S. Birchdale Drive in Homer Glen was arrested for failure to reduce speed, no headlights, operating vehicle in unsafe condition, failure to yield to emergency vehicle, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to give/render aid, failure to report accident to police, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and DUI.

 

5/30     Location:  15000 block of S. Nutmeg Avenue

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a garage door opener. 

 

            Location:  12330 W. 143^rd St.                        Smoker’s Expo

            Summary:  Deputies were called due to an activated alarm.  Upon arrival, they observed two front windows and one glass door to be damaged from a medium sized stone.  The owner arrived on scene and thru video surveillance it was discovered that three offenders, driving in a dark colored Nissan with no rear license plates, attempted multiple times to break into the front windows/doors of the business.  After failed attempts, the offenders left the scene.

 

WEST TOWNSHIPS

 

5/31     Location:  23000 block of W. Douglas Drive                        Plainfield

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a 2012 Infinity.  The vehicle was unlocked with the keys in the glove box.  While family members were searching the area they located the vehicle two blocks away parked on a curb.  The car had been rifled through but nothing was missing.

5/18     Location:  W. Jefferson and N. Hammes

            Summary:  Steven S. Chavez, age 36, of 807 Violetta in Joliet was cited for driving while license revoked and failure to yield private road.

 

            Location:  W. Cass and N. Ottawa

            Summary:  Rachel Prater, age 35, of 405 Taylor St. in Joliet was cited for driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and obstructed view.

 

5/19     Location:  1913 S. Chicago St.                       Ranch Liquors

            Summary:   Victim stated that while she was inside the liquor store person/s unknown stole her 2005 Buick Rendezvous.  A witness stated that they observed two male/black subjects that appeared to be juveniles, enter the vehicle and drive away.  Video surveillance was reviewed and area police were notified of the vehicle theft and description of the offenders.

     A short time later, other deputies in the area located the stolen vehicle near 2^nd Avenue and Anderson Avenue.  Deputies also observed a male subject rummaging through the vehicle.  The subject took off running when he saw deputies.  He was detained by deputies and taken into custody.  He is 14 years-old and was charged with obstructing a peace officer and criminal trespass to motor vehicle. 

   During the same time and while searching the area, deputies located one of the subjects who had stolen the vehicle.  He was a 15 year-old juvenile and was charged with motor vehicle theft.  The passenger in the stolen vehicle was later identified and was charged with criminal trespass to a motor vehicle.  He was 14 years old.

 

            Location:  Caton Farm Road and Enid St.

            Summary:  Eduardo Hernandez, age 20, of 920 Oakland Avenue in Joliet was cited for aggravated speeding.

 

            Location:  Caton Farm and Chevy Chase Drive

            Summary:  Julian Villavazo, age 20, of 6215 Southridge Drive in Plainfield was cited for aggravated speeding and driving while license suspended.

 

5/20     Location:  2423 Plainfield Road                                E&S Auto Sales

            Summary:  Person/s unknown came into the business property and stole three catalytic converters from vehicles.

 

5/21     Location:  1300 block of Cutter

            Summary:  Adrian Palmerin Villagomez, age 26, of 322 Liberty in Aurora was arrested for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, failure to display registration, failure to report accident, failure to give information, driving while license suspended, aggravated DUI and DUI.

 

            Location:  W. Jefferson and Republic

            Summary:  Jasmine Hogluin, age 21, of 16346 Springview Drive in Lockport was arrested for DUI, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and improper lane usage.

            Summary:  Morgan Gonzalez, age 23, of 1707 Jeanette Avenue in St. Charles was arrested for improper lane usage, illegal transportation of alcohol, DUI, and DUI/drugs.

            Summary:  Daryle Loehr, age 41, of 1102 Vine in Joliet was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

 

            Location:  Plainfield and Black Road

            Summary:  Ruth Robinson, age 34, of 411 Grant St. in Joliet was cited for improper lighting and driving while license suspended.

 

            Location:  S. Chicago and Zurich

            Summary:  Deshaun L. Weeks, age 43, of 404 Gardner St. in Joliet was arrested for driving while license suspended and possession of stolen motor vehicle.

 

5/24     Location:  N. Midland and Oneida

            Summary:  Samuel Mays, age 28, of 366 N. Broadway in Joliet was cited for driving while license revoked and improper lighting.  He was held on an active IL State Police warrant.

 

            Location:  Freedom Blvd. and N. Briggs

            Summary:  Christopher White, Jr., age 19, of 316 N. Bluff St. in Joliet was cited for no valid driver’s license and one headlight.

5/21     Location:  21060 W. Rt. 113              Custer Keg                              Wilmington

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke into the establishment and then broke into a video gaming machine in order to steal the currency inside.

 

5/22     Location:  21000 block of W. Smiley Road               Wilmington

            Summary:  Cal A. Testin, age 28, of 210 N. Fifth St. in Braceville was arrested for DUI, aggravated DUI, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, illegal transportation of alcohol, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, failure to give aid involving personal injury, leaving the scene of an accident, and no seat belt.

 

EAST TOWNSHIPS

 

5/23     Location:  1000 block of W. Kentucky Road                        Washington

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke into a residence and stole a Playstation 4, a gaming headset, and miscellaneous clothing.

 

WEST TOWNSHIPS

 

5/18     Location:  400 block of Nancy Court                         Wheatland

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered two unlocked vehicles and stole a phone charger and two pairs of sunglasses.

 

            Location:  9700 block of S. Rt. 59                              Wheatland

            Summary:  A woman reported to deputies that she received a phone call from a company that she was attempting to get a job with.  During that conversation, it was learned that someone had put up a fake Facebook job posting with the company’s information on it, regarding the job she was applying for.  The company stated that they do not advertise on Facebook.   During a brief investigation it was determined that an unknown man posted the job opening and once he receives resumes he requests the individuals social security numbers and driver’s license numbers.   Under investigation.

 

5/21     Location:  W. Taylor and N. Weber Road                             Plainfield

            Summary:  Jozef Karkoszka, age 50, of 748 Countryside Drive in Bolingbrook was arrested for DUI, failure to signal and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

5/18     Location:  300 block of Edinburgh Drive

            Summary:  Timothy Churnovic, age 29, of 311 Maryknoll Drive in Lockport was arrested for criminal damage to property and was held on an active Grundy County warrant.

5/21     Location:  S. Eagle Ridge Drive and W. Cantigny Lane

            Summary:  Julie King, age 37, of 336 Richmond Drive in Romeoville was cited for speeding and drivng while license suspended.

 

NEW LENOX AND FRANKFORT

 

5/24     Location:  7800 block of W. Lincoln Highway                                  Frankfort

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a 2016 Dodge Challenger that was parked behind the owner’s house.  The vehicle was locked and the owner had both sets of keys at the time of the theft.

            Summary:  Kathryne Hoxworth, age 40, of 1923 N. Hickory in Crest Hill was cited for driving while license suspended and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

            Summary:  Rashay Baker, age 41, of 1516 Queens Lace Drive in Joliet was cited for speeding and driving while license suspended.

 

            Location:  1900 block of Rowell Avenue

            Summary:  Person/s unknown kicked the front door of a residence in order to gain entry.  It was unclear at time of report if anything was stolen.

 

            Location:  200 block of Louis Road

            Summary:  Lawana Sterett, age 43, of 219 5^th Avenue in Joliet was arrested for criminal trespass to property.

 

            Location:  Susanna Way and Cara Drive

            Summary:  Deshaun Cockream, age 21, of 10 E. Zarley Blvd. in Joliet was cited for improper lighting and driving while license suspended.

            Summary:  Martionna Johnson, age 25, of 1026 Waverly Place in Joliet was cited for driving while license suspended, improper lane usage, improper lighting, defective tail light, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

            Summary:  Jorge Contreras-Rios, age 48, of 514 Nicholson in Joliet was cited for no registration lights, one headlight, one tail light and no valid driver’s license.

 

5/16     Location:  24000 block of W. Zauratsky Road

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke into a residence and stole two hunting knives and jewelry.

 

            Location:  Erskine Road and Cherry Hill Road

            Summary:  Clinton A. Anders, age 42, of 1103 Plainfield Road in Joliet was picked up on Old Plank Trail after deputies recognized him and were aware that he was wanted on one DuPage County warrant and three McHenry County warrants.

 

5/17     Location:  S. Weber Road and W. McGilvary Drive

            Summary:  Sandra R. Hatchett, age 48, of 1412 Pioneer Road in Crest Hill was cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle, disobeying a traffic control device, speeding and driving while license revoked.

 

FRANKFORT AND NEW LENOX

 

5/12     Location:  19860 S. Harlem Avenue                          Pizza Mia                    Frankfort

            Summary:  A male/black subject in his mid 20’s, about 5’9”, 170lbs, entered the establishment and ordered a small pizza.  The subject paid the bill with a $100 bill and was given his change.  Once the subject left the store, it was discovered that the $100 was counterfeit currency.  Deputies confirmed that the money was fraudulent.

 

5/14     Location:  1900 block of S. Anderson Road              New Lenox

            Summary:  Victim stated that when she arrived back home she observed her garage door was open.  Her neighbor stated that while she was gone the neighbor observed a ComEd truck parked in the front of her house.  The neighbor stated that she observed a male subject from ComEd enter her backyard and leave after about 20 minutes.  The victim stated that when she went inside her home all the electronics were flashing like she had lost power for a short time.  She also observed her purse that had been in the kitchen dumped out with $148 missing.  While checking her yard she observed a new gas meter had been replaced on her home.  Victim believes that the theft may have happened when someone else entered her home through the garage while the ComEd worker was out in the back yard.

5/12     Location:  S. Governors Highway and W. Stuenkel              Crete

            Summary:  Anthony Burton, age 30, of 435 Talala St. in Park Forest was cited for disobeying a traffic control device, improper lane usage, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and driving while license suspended.

 

WEST TOWNSHIPS

 

5/12     Location:  14000 block of S. Napa Circle                  Plainfield

            Summary:  An unknown male/white was observed on video surveillance using a knife to puncture the front and rear passenger side tires of a vehicle that was parked on the street.  The offender also used an unknown object and smashed the front windshield in.

 

5/14     Location:  500 block of Windjammer Lane               Wheatland

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a white 2009 Chevrolet Express G250 from the driveway of a residence.  The owner had left the vehicle unlocked with the keys inside.   The vehicle had a table saw and a circular saw inside at time of theft.

5/12     Location:  S. Rt. 53 and W. South Arsenal Road                   Wilmington

            Summary:  Cesar Trujillo Jr., age 24, of 2424 Foxtail Court in Crest Hill was cited for aggravated speeding, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and violation of driver’s license classification.

 

5/13     Location:  12000 block of W. Joliet Road                 Manhattan

            Summary:  Pasquel Martinez, age 46, of 3113 Elizabeth Avenue in Zion was cited for speeding, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and driving while license suspended.

 

5/14     Location:  W. Rt. 113 and S. Zilm Road                    Wilmington

            Summary:  Elizabeth F. Mandat, age 53, of 21262 W. Rt. 113 in Custer Park was arrested for improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed, improper turn, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, illegal transportation of alcohol and DUI.

 

5/16     Location:  S. Rt. 53 and W. South Arsenal Road                               Wilmington

            Summary:  Emily Esparza-Avalos, age 21, of 17924 W. Manhattan Road in Elwood was cited for driving with suspended registration.

 

LOCKPORT

 

5/12     Location:  100 block of Fairmont Avenue

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered a vehicle that had its windows down and stole a purse containing a license, credit cards and $300.  Shortly after the theft, the victim began receiving phone calls from her bank regarding suspicious transactions being attempted on her credit cards.

 

5/13     Location:  100 block of Fairmont Avenue

            Summary:  About 7:40pm deputies responded to a shots fired call.  Upon arrival, they observed multiple shell casings lying in the roadway.  They spoke with a female subject who stated that she was having a birthday party for her daughter when they observed a blue/black Buick sedan drive by the home.  They then observed the driver’s side window and passenger window come down with two unknown male/blacks, wearing ski masks, begin to fire bullets towards the house and party guests.  Nine adults and ten children (ages infant to 14 years old) were at the party.  Not all attendees were outside the home at the time of the shooting. No one was injured.

Two vehicles that were parked in front of the residence sustained bullet holes. 

 

5/16     Location:  W. 135^th St. and S. Smith Road

            Summary:  A male victim stated that while he was traveling westbound on 135^th St. coming towards the intersection at Smith Road, he heard a loud bang.  The man initially thought someone had thrown a large rock at his vehicle.  Upon arriving to his destination, he realized that person/s unknown had shot a bullet at his car striking the driver’s side door.  He was not injured.

 

HOMER GLEN

 

5/11     Location:  12622 W. 159^th St.                                    Rubi Agave

            Summary:  Person/s unknown paid their tab with a counterfeit $20 bill.  The staff unknowingly accepted the fake cash but discovered it later.

 

5/13     Location:  W. 163^rd St. and S. Cedar Road

            Summary:  Maureen F. Bulger, age 37, of 23232 S. Malibu Drive in Manhattan was arrested for DUI, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, illegal transportation of alcohol, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.  Deputies located Bulger in her vehicle that had come to rest in a shallow pond.  Deputies were also advised at the scene that prior to Bulger landing in the pond she had rear-ended another vehicle, crossed over a lane of traffic, and went off the roadway.  

 

5/14     Location:  S. Gougar and W. 151^st St.

            Summary:  Thomas J. Nie, age 25, of 17522 S. Gilbert Drive in Lockport was cited for aggravated speeding.

 

            Location:  W. Woodland and S. Trailside

            Summary:  Adam Sinclair, age 19, of 13030 Morning Glory Court in Homer Glen was cited for speeding and driving while license suspended.  He was held on an FTA warrant.

 

5/15     Location:  14000 block of S. Stately Oaks Court

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a 2021 Ram 1500 from the driveway of a residence.  Video footage showed the vehicle being stolen around 4:14am and being followed by a second unknown type of vehicle.  After reviewing tracking information on the vehicle, it was discovered in Dolton.  Dolton Police were notified and were able to recover the vehicle.

 

5/16     Location:  15000 block of W. 139^th St.

            Summary:  An elderly woman stated to deputies that around 3:45pm she was outside doing yard work when an unknown male subject pulled into her driveway and began speaking to her regarding trimming trees in her back yard.  The woman followed the man to the backyard where they had a conversation.  When the woman returned to the inside of her home she observed 2 closet doors open and 30 of her rings missing.  The man was described as male/white, 5’9”, and 160lbs. wearing work clothes with a reflective vest and a badge on it.

            Summary:  John Freeman, age 45, of 1700 22^nd St. in Boulder, CO was cited for leaving the scene of an accident, driving too fast for conditions, and improper lane usage.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke into a business and ransacked the building.  Offender/s also broke several liquor bottles on the ground and inside several vehicles.  A large amount of damage was caused to six vintage vehicles.

            Summary:  Marco Jimenez-Molina, age 19, of 722 Francis St. in Joliet was cited for speeding, no valid driver’s license, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

            Summary:  Yobani Hernandez-Aguilar, age 27, of 808 Julia Avenue in Joliet was arrested for aggravated domestic battery, aggravated criminal sexual assault and unlawful restraint.

            Summary:  Renee L. Pila, age 30, of this address was arrested for 2 counts of aggravated battery to a peace officer and reporting a false alarm/complaint to emergency 911 center.   She was also held on an active Will County warrant.  Sean Burke, age 31, of this address, was arrested for aggravated battery to a peace officer.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a 2015 Toyota from the driveway of a residence during the overnight hours.  It was later discovered that the stolen vehicle was observed heading down I80 around 1:00am by the thieves.
