Summary: Lawrence Trevino, age 27, of 408 Leach Avenue in Joliet was arrested for DUI, failure to yield, illegal transportation of alcohol, and resisting/obstructing a peace officer.

Summary: Alexander Clemens, age 26, of 831 S. State St. in Lockport was arrested for disorderly conduct and obstructing a peace officer.

Summary: Cesar Ramirez, age 57, of 502 Ward Avenue in Joliet was arrested for two counts of aggravated DUI, and one count of DUI, aggravated driving while license revoked, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, improper lane usage, driving with expired license plates, and obstructing identification.

Summary: Ezequiel Toto, age 24, of 561 Herkimer Street in Joliet was arrested for DUI, no valid driver’s license, and improper lane usage.

Summary: Maria Cordoba, age 44, of Joliet was cited for driving while license suspended.

8/22 Location: W. Stripmine and S. Keeley Lane Wilmington
Summary: Jonathan Garcia, age 31, of Wilmington was arrested for DUI, improper lane usage, expired registration.
8/26 Location: S. Linden Lane Wilmington
Summary: Victim stated she received a $500 charge on her Amazon account and was sent a message stated she had to call a number to confirm the transaction. The victim called the number given and spoke to an individual who directed her to send a picture of her driver’s license to confirm that they were speaking to the victim. The victim sent the image. She was then directed by the unknown person to download the Nala app and AnyDesk app on her phone. The victim complied. The following day the victim discovered seven fraudulent charges totaling over $4,000 from her bank account. Five of the fraudulent charges went through the Nala app.

Summary: Brandon Thomas, age 33, of Chicago was cited for driving while license suspended, oprating an uninsured motor vehicle and speeding.
EAST TOWNSHIPS
8/22 Location: S. Rt. 394 and E. Burville Road Crete
Summary: Deputies were called to an abandoned Polaris RZR Turbo at this location. They were advised that the owner of the Polaris lived on the 31000 block of S. 104th St. in Peotone. Deputies then spoke to the owner who stated that person/s unknown had broke into his barn and stole the Polaris during the overnight hours and must have abandoned it in Crete.
8/23 Location: S. Rt. 50 and W. Pauling Road Monee
Summary: Liborio Hernandez-Mondragon, age 61, of Crete was cited for suspended registration, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and no valid driver’s license.
8/24 Location: S. Egyptian Trail and W. Pauling Road Monee
Summary: Markus McCoy, age 58, of 10486 Morse Place in Crown Point, IN was arrested for DUI, suspended registration, illegal transportation of alcohol, and stopping/standing/parking where prohibited.

Summary: Eloy J. Marcum, age 27, of Steger was cited for driving while license suspended, speeding, and expired registration.

Summary: Nikka Culpepper, age 39, of Beecher was cited for aggravated speeding.
8/25 Location: S. Rt. 45 and W. Joliet Road Peotone
Summary: Clinton Buhle, age 38, of Bourbonnais was cited for aggravated speeding.
Location: S. Rt. 394 and E. Exchange St. Crete
Summary: Bryce Thurman, age 20, of Crete was cited for aggravated speeding.
Location: W. Roberts Ridge Road Monee
Summary: Victim stated she received a message from Microsoft advising her to call them regarding an issue to repair her computer. Victim spoke with someone at the number provided. After doing so the victim became suspicious and went to her bank where she was advised that $1,500 had been fraudulently removed from her checking account. A second checking account at another bank also had a $70 fraudulent charge to Amazon.
8/28 Location: W. Gail Avenue Monee
Summary: Victim stated he needed to contact Apple support to receive help updating his cell phone. He Googled Apple support and called the first phone number that was provided. After speaking to, who he believed to be Apple support, he was transferred to a different phone number and ultimately provided them with his debt card number, driver’s license number, and social security number. The (fraudulent) Apple representative instructed the victim to create a CashApp account and link his debit card to the account. The victim suspected something was not right about the call and hung up. The victim immediately contacted his bank and cancelled his debit card and called CashApp and deleted his account. No fraudulent charges had yet been made.

Summary: Person/s unknown entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a Glock 19 handgun and ammunition. The offender/s also stole three Milwaukee battery tools.
HOMER GLEN
8/25 Location: S. Lady Bar Lane
Summary: Victim stated that she received a call from her mother telling her that a Sergeant from the Orland Park Police was trying to reach her. The victim returned the call and left a voice message. She received a call back from a different number and the person identified himself as the Sergeant from Orland Park Police. He advised her that she missed a court date involving a juvenile in a federal law case. He then advised that an officer had been sent to her home with a subpoena and she had signed it. Victim stated she never signed a subpoena. The impersonating officer advised the victim that if she did not take care of this, she would be charged with failure to appear and contempt of court. He also advised that there was a gag order and to only maintain contact with him only. He then advised that there was a $500 processing fee and directed her to purchase a Money Pak and after doing so the rep asked her to read the number off the back of the card. The victim became suspicious when he began asking her for more.
The Orland Park Police Department phone number was displayed on her caller ID when the fraudulent calls came over her phone. The name of the Orland Park Sergeant was the actual name of an officer of the department; however, the officer had no dealings with the incident and the incident was a scam.
WEST TOWNSHIPS
8/23 Location: 21000 block of W. Edison Lane Plainfield
Summary: Victim stated that while looking to rent a place that she had seen for rent, she emailed an individual who she believed was the owner from the email provided if interested in renting it. Several emails were exchanged, and the victim sent the subject a total of $600 deposit through a Zelle transaction. The victim set up a time and date to look at the property, however the subject did not show up for the appointment. During further communications the subject asked for additional money, but the victim refused, and the subject quit responding to the victim.
While speaking with the victim, it was discovered that the victim’s current roommate had also been dealing with the same subject regarding a property for rent and had sent him $500 deposit through Zelle.

Summary: Fidel Hernandez, age 44, of Joliet was arrested for battery.
FRANKFORT AND NEW LENOX
8/22 Location: S. Harlem and Vollmer Road Frankfort
Summary: Michael White, age 32, of Park Forest was cited for suspended registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
Location: 23000 block of s. Center Rd. Frankfort
Summary: An unknown man, riding a bicycle, was observed on video surveillance entering an unlocked vehicle and stealing a wallet and a soccer bag.
Location: S. Pfeiffer Road Frankfort
Summary: Victims stated that while they were preparing to leave for vacation, they had packed their vehicle the night previous. Unknowingly they left a key fob inside the vehicle and when they believed they locked the doors, the vehicle doors did not lock. When they went to leave in the morning, they realized an unknown male had entered their vehicle and stole a 9mm handgun, USC, credit cards, medication, and a purse. Upon reviewing video surveillance, they observed a male subject enter the vehicle and leave with the purse strapped over his shoulder and the firearm in his hand.
8/23 Location: S. Harlem and W. Hickory Creek Drive Frankfort
Summary: Nasir Muhammad, age 43, of 2328 E. Lincoln Highway in New Lenox was arrested for DUI, failure to signal, improper lane usage and no seat belts.

Summary: Gunnar Halverson, age 28, of McHenry, IL was cited for leaving the scene of an accident.

Summary: Luis F. Gallardo-Garcia, age 27, of Crest Hill was cited for driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, suspended registration, obstructed front windshield, and two counts of aggravated driving while license suspended.
8/18 Location: 1601 E. Cass St. 7-11 Store
Summary: Otillio Mendez, age 24, of 700 Green Garden Place in Lockport was arrested for armed robbery, robbery, aggravated assault, aggravated DUI, driving while license revoked and expired plates.
Deputies pulled into the station parking lot and observed Mendez chasing another male subject near the gas pumps with a large knife. Deputies gave Mendez several verbal commands to drop the knife which he eventually complied. Mendez was very combative with deputies as they took him into custody.
The 35-year-old victim stated that Mendez approached him in the parking lot with a knife and attempted to rob him of belongings he had just purchased at Highland Liquors. When the victim told Mendez ‘No’, Mendez attempted to stab him several times but was unsuccessful.

Summary: David Alvarado, age 37, of Plainfield was cited for driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, expired registration, and driving with suspended registration. He was also held on an active Will County warrant and an active DuPage County warrant.

Summary: Victor Vergara, age 26, of 1600 Arbor Lane in Crest Hill was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and was held on an active FTA warrant out of Grundy County.

Summary: Darnell Windmon, age 49 of 388 Yates Avenue in Calumet City was arrested for disobeying a stop sign and DUI.
8/21 Location: 25608 S. Dixie Highway Crete U Stor It
Summary: Person/s unknown broke into a Spartan trailer and stole a large ladder, a 60” TV, a heavy-duty hand truck and an audio home theater.
Location: W. Exchange and S. Kings Rd. Crete
Summary: Jasmine Steps, age 25, was cited for illegal transportation of alcohol, driving with suspended registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
HOMER GLEN
8/15 Location: 14160 S. Sheffield Drive Goodings Grove Condo
Summary: Person/s unknown threw eggs and a plastic juice container at a tenant’s bedroom window and shattered it. No one was injured.
Location: 15000 block of S. Cranberry Court
Summary: Two separate homeowners reported to deputies that their vehicles had been entered by unknown persons around 1am. One homeowner had one unlocked vehicle entered that was parked in his driveway. Nothing was missing. The other homeowner had two unlocked vehicles entered that were parked in his driveway, but nothing was missing. Video surveillance revealed that five subjects exited a dark colored SUV and scattered out to vehicles in the area to see if they were unlocked to gain easy access.

Summary: Konstantinos Manikas, age 52, of Orland Hills was cited for expired registration and driving while license suspended.
Location: 14000 block of S. Helen Lane
Summary: Person/s unknown entered a Ram truck and rifled through it. Nothing was stolen. Video surveillance revealed two unknown persons went inside the truck, opened his garage door using the opener inside the truck, and entered the SUV that was inside. Nothing was stolen from that vehicle.
Location: 14000 block of S. Augusta Lane
Summary: Video surveillance revealed that around 1:20am a group of unknown subjects exited a vehicle and began running in different directions towards vehicles that were parked in resident’s driveways. Two vehicles were entered at the victim’s home but nothing was stolen. The offenders also used the garage door opener to open the garage but quickly closed it and ran off.
Location: 14000 block of W. Anne Drive
Summary: Deputies were notified by Tinley Park Police that they had located a 2016 Audi A6 that had been involved in a crash on 76th ad 159th St. The vehicle was unoccupied. Deputies went to the address that the vehicle was registered to and spoke with the vehicle owner. Owner stated that his other vehicle that was still parked in his driveway had the garage door opener inside. Person/s unknown must have used the opener, entered the garage, and stole the Audi.
Location: 1440 W. 151st St. Homer Township Highway Department
Summary: Person/s unknown stole a portable traffic analyzer with an estimated value of $1523. It was affixed to the roadway with bolts at W. Hickory Avenue at S. Maple Avenue.
8/19 Location: 14000 block of S. Glen Drive
Summary: Victim stated that while attempting to purchase a French Bulldog from a Facebook Marketplace ad she was scammed out of $1,350. Victim stated that while conversing on Facebook messenger she Zelled money in separate transactions for a deposit, vet bills, and final payment and additional costs. Upon investigating phone numbers and email addresses given it appeared the fraudulent puppy sellers were located out of Georgia.
8/21 Location: 12640 W. 143rd St. White Castle
Summary: An unknown male white subject smashed a window and entered the restaurant, went to the office area, and stole cash out of a safe.
Location: 16000 block of S. Bell Road
Summary: Richard Lavelle, age 33, of Oak Lawn was arrested for DUI, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
Location: 13000 block of W. 143rd St.
Summary: Person/s unknown entered an unlocked vehicle at 11:45am and stole a wallet. Victim stated that he had walked away from his vehicle for maybe 3 to 4 minutes and during that time the wallet was stolen.

Summary: Eric Loferski, age 52, of Bourbonnais was cited for aggravated speeding.

Summary: Person/s unknown broke into a residence being remodeled and stole five 52” ceiling fans, one tile saw and a Craftsman six tool combo kit.
8/16 Location: 21060 W. Rt. 113 Custers Keg Wilmington
Summary: Between 6:30pm and 7:30pm, person/s unknown stole a 2020 Harley Davidson Street Glide from the east parking lot of the business. Keys were not in the motorcycle at time of theft.

Summary: Erika Moore, age 34 of University Park was cited for aggravated speeding.
8/19 Location: S. Rt. 53 and W. Old Explosive Rd. Wilmington
Summary: Patricia Matute-Calix, age 46, of Champaign, IL was arrested for DUI, no valid driver’s license, aggravated speeding, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, failure to yield to emergency vehicle.

Summary: Cody R. Hunt, age 31, of 9822 W. Pauling Road in Monee was arrested for DUI, open alcohol by driver, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, operating non-roadway vehicle on roadway, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
WEST TOWNSHIPS
8/17 Location: 23254 W. Grinton Drive Plainfield
Summary: Robert P. Descamps, age 42, of this address, was taken into custody by the Sheriff’s Warrant Unit/U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force and the Sheriff’s Gang Suppression Unit on an arrest warrant that was granted on 8/16. Descamps was charged with two counts of residential burglary, no FOID card, two counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, three counts of aggravated assault, criminal damage to property, two counts of endangering the life of a child, and two counts of unlawful violation of an order of protection. He was also cited for no valid driver’s license and reckless driving. His bond amount was set at $200,000 (10% to apply).
FRANKFORT AND NEW LENOX
8/16 Location: S. Graceland Frankfort
Summary: Victim stated that he was using a Google search engine on his computer to find streaming TV channels when a blue Windows screen popped up and instructed him to call customer service to unlock the screen. The victim did and after speaking with a ‘supervisor’ he was informed that there was evidence on his computer of illegal and inappropriate photos that were federal crimes, and he was being investigated by the FBI regarding them. This information scared the victim and during the conversation the victim was asked to provide social security number, checking/debit card numbers and was told that it would cost $28,000 to clear up the matter.
The victim did as he was instructed. He traveled to his bank, left his phone in the car, did not talk with bank employees about the withdrawal, and finally traveled to a Bitcoin ATM and deposited the funds.
After returning home the victim started thinking that something may not be right and called his family who informed him to call the police and report the scam.
8/17 Location: S. Harlem and W. St. Francis Rd. Frankfort
Summary: Elysse Holmes, age 25, of Matteson was cited for aggravated speeding.
8/20 Location: 19900 S. Harlem Avenue Lincolnway North High School Frankfort
Summary: Victim stated that she arrived at the football stadium at 7pm and parked her vehicle on the north side. She returned to her vehicle about 7:35pm and found that person/s unknown had broke out her passenger window, entered her vehicle, and stole her purse containing credit cards.
Location: 19900 S. Harlem Avenue Lincolnway North High School Frankfort
Summary: Victim stated that she arrived at the football stadium at 6pm to see the game. Upon returning to her vehicle, she saw that person/s unknown had broken her passenger side window, entered her vehicle, and stole $100 and credit cards. Victim stated that she did get a credit card alert shortly after 6pm but did not think it was possible. The alert stated a $500 charge was attempted at a Family Dollar store in Richton Park.

8/18 Location: 16000 block of S. Rankin Drive
Summary: About 1:40am, person/s unknown broke the passenger side window of a vehicle and stole a black tote bag, women’s makeup, and three bottles of prescription medications.

8/8 Location: 95 S. Chicago St. Adult Detention Facility
Summary: Deshaun Cockream, age 24, of Crest Hill was charged with criminal damage to government property.
Location: 1913 S. Chicago St. Ranch Food and Liquor
Summary: Around 11:30pm Sheriff’s deputies were alerted to an activated burglar alarm. Upon arrival they spoke to the owner who stated that while he was closing the store and walking with one of his employees to his vehicle he was approached by an unknown masked male black subject with a knife in his hand. The offender threatened to kill the owner if he did not give him money. The offender took the cash out of the owner’s pocket and fled on foot. No one was harmed.
8/10 Location: 2500 block of Caton Farm Road
Summary: Parris Shields, age 38, of 3501 Marseilles Lane in Hazel Crest was arrested for aggravated DUI, DUI, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, improper lane usage, and driving in wrong lane.

Summary: Adeleye Adekale, age 35, of Country Club Hills was charged with attempting to defraud a court ordered drug/alcohol screening test.

Summary: Yondry Coronel Reyes, age 24, of Joliet was cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle, improper use of registration, unlawful possession of registration, and operating vehicle with no valid license.

8/12 Location: 15000 block of S. Badger Lane
Summary: Person/s unknown entered a residence and stole several pieces of fine jewelry. The homeowners believe the theft took place while a masonry and tuckpointing company was doing work on their home. Homeowner alleged that no one else had been inside their home besides the company’s employees.
Location: 14447 W. 159th St. DiNolfo’s Banquet
Summary: Person/s unknown broke into a vehicle and stole a Louis Vuitton purse containing credit cards and cash, and approximately $2,000 worth of DJ equipment. The vehicle owner was working a wedding as a DJ inside the hall when his anti-theft system alerted him on his phone.

8/10 Location: 25608 S. Dixie Highway Crete U Stor It
Summary: Person/s unknown cut the battery cables to a storage battery on a River Forest camper and stole it. Offender/s also put a dent on the camper and shattered a sliding glass window. Nothing was missing from inside.
8/11 Location: 29000 block of S. Center Rd. Peotone
Summary: Jeremy Peters, age 36, of 6733 S. When the victim went to the property to take a tour, he was advised by the actual property owner that he did not list the Emerald Court property on Craigslist and that the advertisement and landlord were fraudulent.

Summary: Person/s unknown entered a residence and broke multiple windows, smashed eggs all over the kitchen, living room, and hallway, broke two bathroom doors and seven sets of window blinds. The owners were in the process of moving out and had removed most items prior to the incident.

Summary: Victim stated that after working out on the running track she returned to her vehicle to find that person/s unknown had broke out a window to enter the vehicle. A purse containing a small amount of cash and various credit cards. While deputies were investigating the incident, they located to the Speedway gas station to view video surveillance. It was determined that the offender had attempted to use one of the victim’s credit cards. The offender was described as a male black, in his mid-30’s, bald, with a beer belly, black tank top, black shorts, and black and white slides.
Deputies were later notified that the offender used the victims credit cards in Richton Park as three retail stores.

Summary: Homeowners stated that they observed a Chevy Silverado in their driveway at 3:50am and two male Hispanics in their yard. The male homeowner went outside to confront the subjects and heard a shotgun go off. The homeowner then shot his 9mm handgun into a nearby ditch to scare off the subjects. The homeowner then observed the two subjects enter the Silverado and drive off.
The homeowners then discovered a 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan on their property behind a barn. The vehicle did not belong to the homeowners, and they had no idea how it got on their property. The vehicle had the hood open, windows down, gas cap open, and had gasoline poured throughout the inside. A gas can was located about 30 yards from the vehicle. It was determined that one of the subjects had driven it there and were planning on lighting it on fire until they were scared off by the homeowner. Deputies confirmed the vehicle had been stolen from Skokie. Under investigation.

Victim stated that the day she went to move into the house the ‘landlord’ never showed up to allow the victim into the house. After several attempts of reaching out to the landlord, she eventually reached him and was told that she could not prove he ever received any money from her, and he would not be returning her money.

Summary: An unknown male black was observed stealing a 2003 Nissan Sentra that was parked on the street in front of the owner’s home. A short time later Crest Hill Police located the occupied vehicle behind Food 4 Less on Larkin Avenue and attempted to stop it. The vehicle fled the area at a high rate of speed and the pursuit was terminated by the police.

Summary: Victim stated that she located a listing for a rental apartment in Aurora on Realtor.com. She contacted a female whose number was listed and spoke to her about the listing. The victim was instructed to send in an application along with a $75.00 application payment through Zelle.
The victim then set up a meeting to see the property, but the ‘realtor’ stated she was unable to make it but sent her a link with a passcode to allow the victim access to the property. The victim saw the property and then was advised to send $500 for a down payment through Zelle. The victim was then advised to send another $500 to complete the down payment. Which she did. The ‘realtor’ then advised the victim that she would need another $500 to take the listing off the Realtor.com site. The victim did so and then became suspicious. The victim then attempted to contact the realtor, but the realtor stopped responding. The victim then realized she was scammed.
