September 30, 2013 – The Will County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic disturbance with shots fired at 205 Independence Avenue in Joliet Township at 12:08am this morning. Upon arrival deputies spoke with a witness who informed the deputies that two subjects were inside the bedroom. Deputies observed Kearra D. Hosey, age 35, and Marcus T. Crosby, age 36; both subjects had suffered fatal gunshot wounds. East Joliet Fire personnel were called to the scene where the two were pronounced dead.
The witness, who is a relative of Mr. Crosby and also resided with the couple at this address, gave preliminary statements indicating that Hosey and Crosby had been arguing in the bedroom when Crosby pulled a handgun out and fatally shot Hosey and then turned the gun on himself.
The couple had been married in May of 2013. Joliet Police had responded to a domestic call on September 16, 2012 in which Marcus Crosby was arrested for domestic battery. Crosby was currently employed in the Joliet School District as a security guard. An autopsy is expected within the week. -END-
