            Summary:  Tumma T. Green, age 21, of 4243 Applewood Lane in Matteson was arrested for theft over $500.

 

12/20   Location:  7218 W. Lincoln Highway                        Speedway                   Frankfort

            Summary:  Two male/black subjects entered the store around 4:20am with handguns and wearing ski masks and gloves.  One offender ordered an employee to the back room while the second offender pointed a handgun at a customer and ordered the customer to the floor.   The second offender took the customer’s wallet and phone, which were recovered later on scene.  The offenders stole approximately 40 cartons of Newport cigarettes.  No one was injured.   Under investigation.

            Summary:  An unknown, middle-aged, male Hispanic knocked on the back door of a residence and stated that he was going to be doing work at the front of the house.  The homeowner observed a white four-door vehicle in the driveway and stated that the man acted like he knew her and another family member living at the residence.  Shortly after the conversation, the homeowner saw the man inside her home in the dining room rummaging through envelopes.  The man then left the home.  The homeowners realized later that the man had stolen a small safe with a small amount of cash inside, gold and silver coins, a silver cross, and other items.

SOUTH TOWNSHIPS

 

12/5     Location:  S. Rt. 52 and S. Foxford Drive                  Manhattan

            Summary:  Jonathan Valdez, age 35, of 831 Glenwood Place in Aurora was cited for illegal use of cell phone and driving while license suspended.

 

            Location:  W. Wilmington-Peotone Road and S. Cedar Rd.             Manhattan

            Summary:  Jill Hossbach, age 58, of 14347 W. Bruns Road in Manhattan was cited for failure to yield stop sign and driving too fast for conditions after she went thru a stop sign and was struck by another vehicle.  Hossbach’s Chevy pick-up was forced into a cornfield at the intersection.  She was transported to Silver Cross Hospital by Manhattan Fire and later transported to Loyola Medical.  The driver of the vehicle that struck Hossbach was taken to Silver Cross with cuts, abrasions, and back pain.  

 

12/7     Location:  W. Lorenzo Road and S. Will Road                     Wilmington

            Summary:  Sean V. Flores, age 22, of 31700 S. Old Chicago Road in Wilmington was arrested for DUI, aggravated speeding, unlawful use of a weapon and illegal possession of a firearm.

 

HOMER GLEN

 

12/3     Location:  15000 block of S. Woodcrest Avenue                 

            Summary:  Three unknown subjects were observed on video surveillance exiting a white SUV around 12:23am.  The subjects began checking vehicles for unlocked doors in the neighborhood.  One vehicle was unlocked and a subject entered it and stole a pair of Prada sunglasses.

 

            Location:  W. Dublin and S. Parker

            Summary:  Deputies were called around 5:13am regarding an unoccupied vehicle parked in the middle of the road.  Deputies found a 2016 Chevy Traverse with a window rolled down, papers thrown about, and the key in the ignition.  Deputies contacted the owners who lived on Meath Drive and they located to the scene.  The vehicle had been left unlocked with the spare key inside the center console when it was stolen.  Ten dollars of change was stolen. 

     Lemont Police also arrived on the scene and advised deputies that they had multiple victims of burglaries to vehicles, just north of this intersection.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown forced entry into a residence and stole USC.

 

            Location:  W. 159^th St. and S. Bell Road

            Summary:  Video surveillance revealed a male subject wearing a blue jacket with a hood, a mask, jeans, and gloves, entered an unlocked vehicle around 5:43am.  Nothing was stolen.  Video also captured an unknown vehicle waiting in the street while a second subject attempted to enter a neighbor’s vehicle.  The door was locked making the suspects attempts unsuccessful.

            Summary:  A male individual, in his 20’s, reported that he received a phone call from a man who identified himself as ‘Calvin Scott’ from the Social Security Department.  Scott advised the victim that he was being audited and owed the SS about $300,000.00.  The victim stated that he later received a call from a male subject who informed the victim that he worked for the FBI and again advised him he owed the same amount of money to the SS and if he did not cooperate, he would be arrested. 

    The victim was advised to avoid being arrested he was to make payment in gift cards with the money that he could come up with and if it was sufficient the agencies would drop the charges against him.  The victim proceeded to Macy’s and Target and purchased 15 gift cards.  Three Ebay and one Game Stop gift card was also purchased with the total amount of cards totaling over $7,000.  The victim provided the fraudulent FBI agent with all the gift card numbers.

            Summary:  Sheriff’s deputies responded to an armed robbery call at 5:05 am.  Upon arrival, they spoke with an employee who stated that while he was in the back room he observed two male black subjects enter the store wearing ski masks, black hooded sweatshirts and black pants, both with a thin build.  One of the subjects jumped the counter and pointed a handgun at the employee while ordering him to the ground.  The second subject also jumped the counter and began putting cigarette cartons and packs into a large black bag.  The offenders also entered the register where they stole about $100.  During the incident, the employee was struck on the side of his head.  The offenders left in a four-door vehicle with tinted windows.    Under investigation.

            Summary:  Homeowner stated that his residence is currently for sale and he checks on the property periodically.  He stated that via video surveillance he observed that on 11/19/19 he observed a package being delivered to the front step by UPS.  About 10 minutes later a male/black subject dressed in a postal uniform came to the step and left with the package.  The homeowner stated that on 11/21/19 around 12:03pm he observed the same UPS delivery person deliver another package.  At 12:12pm, he then observed the same male/black wearing a postal uniform again take the package that was delivered.   Under investigation.

            Summary:  A female victim stated that around 8:30am she observed a white SUV pull into her driveway with two male Hispanics inside.  One subject exited the vehicle and asked the victim if she was home alone.  The victim stated that she was.  The subject told the victim that he knew her because he used to be her paperboy when he was a kid.  The subject then stated that he was going to be doing some digging in the backyard for his employer and stated that he would show her where.   They both walked around the house to the backyard.  After the two men left, the victim realized that some gold jewelry was missing from her bedroom.

            Summary:  Around 8:30pm, a delivery driver from Rich’s Pizza ran into the store leaving his vehicle doors unlocked and the engine running.  When he came back outside about 10 minutes later his 2014 Dodge Avenger was gone.

            Summary:  Nathaniel P. Boatright, age 33, of 235 Briarcliff Road in Bolingbrook was arrested for aggravated battery and resisting a police officer.   He was held on active warrants.
