9/6       Location:  1530 N. Broadway                                    ATS Transport

            Summary:  Deputies took four reports from semi-truck owners that person/s unknown had broken into their trucks and stole the common powertrain control modules. 

 

9/7       Location:   E. Cass Street

            Summary:  Victims stated that a heavy-set Hispanic man knocked on their door stating that he was their new neighbor and wanted to talk to them regarding cutting down some tree branches in their backyard.  While the victims were outside with the man, he received several phone calls.  After a few minutes the man said he would be right back and never returned to the backyard. 

   Victims realized later that person/s unknown had entered their residence and stole USC, bonds, and fine jewelry.

 

            Location:  95 S. Chicago St.                                       Adult Detention Facility

            Summary:  Christine Castellano, age 28, 7147 S. Jeffrey Blvd. in Chicago was charged with aggravated battery to a correctional officer.

 

9/9       Location:  Maple Road and N. Briggs St.

            Summary:  Latayjia Terry, age 25, of Romeoville was cited for driving while license suspended, no seat belt and improper lane usage.

 

            Location:  100 block of Pheasant Run Road

            Summary:  Unknown persons drove a dark colored SUV and a white sedan up to a residence at 5:32am.  An individual exited one of the vehicles, approached a 2020 Dodge Durango parked in the driveway and stole the vehicle.  

 

9/10     Location:  436 S. Briggs                                 Speedway

            Summary:  Martin Beyers, age 52, of 516 Whitley Avenue in Joliet was arrested for criminal trespass to vehicle and aggravated driving while license revoked.

 

9/11     Location:  95 S. Chicago St.                           Adult Detention Facility

            Summary:  Ronald Parker, age 21, of 23 Highland St. in Calumet City was charged with aggravated battery to a correctional officer.

9/6       Location:  W. 191^st St. and 80^th Avenue                                 Mokena

            Summary:  Mireya Luna, age 30, of 2914 E. 98^th St. in Chicago was arrested for DUI and improper lane usage.

 

9/8       Location:  S. Harlem and Vollmer Avenue                            Frankfort

            Summary:  Antonio N. LaSalvia, age 25, of Rensselaer, IN was cited for expired registration, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and improper use of registration.

            Summary:  David McKrieth, age 30, of Calumet City was cited for aggravated speeding.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a package off the front porch of a residence.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an unlocked Hyundai Elantra and damaged the steering column and ignition in an attempt to steal the vehicle.

            Summary:  Alexis Torrijos-Ruiz, age 26, of Edgehill Drive in Bolingbrook was cited for illegal window treatments on windows, foreign dealer plate on vehicle, driving while license revoked and failure to transfer title.

            Summary:  Paul Lombardo, age 36, of 23712 W. Main in Plainfield was arrested for disorderly conduct.

            Summary:  Blake Tomac, age 25, of 901 Sheila Drive in Joliet was arrested for DUI, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, illegal transportation of alcohol.

            Summary:  Karen L. Novak, age 47, of Mokena was cited for speeding and no valid driver’s license.

            Summary:  An unknown male subject broke into a residence and stole miscellaneous currency.

            Summary:  Peter McCloud, age 37, of 21504 W. Georgetown Court in Plainfield was charged with aggravated battery.

            Summary:  Penelope McSherry, age 50, of Joliet was cited for driving while license suspended and improper lane usage.

 

            Location:  1530 N. Broadway                        ATS Truck and Trailer

            Summary:  Person/s unknown burglarized nine semi-trucks that were parked in the lot of the business.  The offenders had removed the door trim, unlocked the doors, and stole the powertrain control module.  Deputies believe that the stolen parts are being used for their CPC chips which are commonly sold on the black market because of a global shortage.    Under investigation.

            Summary:  Jorge Pantoja, age 32, of Joliet was cited for no valid driver’s license and no lighting.

 

            Location:  100 W. Jefferson St.                                  Will County Courthouse

            Summary:  Joseph Pine, age 34, of 3809 Adesso Lane in Joliet was charged with defrauding a court ordered drug/alcohol screening.

            Summary:  Shawn Matheny, age 40, of Tinley Park was charged with battery.

            Summary:  Anthony D. James, age 34, of Arizona Avenue in Joliet was cited for speeding, suspended registration and driving while license suspended.

            Summary:  Frank Cardona, age 22, of 17004 S. Heathercreek Drive in Plainfield was arrested for DUI and improper lane usage.

            Summary:  Derrell D. Draper, age 39, of 807 Hollow Glen in Joliet was charged with possessing contraband in penal institution and aggravated battery to a correctional officer.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a 2020 Hyundai.  Chicago Police later advised that the vehicle had been abandoned on the 9300 block of S. Sangamon in Chicago.  A side window had been broken out of the vehicle and the dashboard sustained damage.

            Summary:  Meldan Langford, age 52, of Chicago was cited for speeding, improper lane usage, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and driving with suspended registration.

            Summary:  An unknown male/Asian, about 130lbs and 5’6”, was observed entering an employee’s vehicle and stealing $60 and four wedding bands.

            Summary:  Stephen Davis, age 43, of 1727 E. 83^rd Place in Chicago was arrested for aggravated assault to a peace officer, criminal trespass to property, disorderly conduct, and resisting a peace officer.

            Summary:  Martin Carreno, age 52, of 554 Ward St. in Joliet was arrested for DUI, driving while license suspended and improper lane usage.

            Summary:  Jorge Quevedo, age 33, of N. Hickory St. in Joliet was cited for no valid driver’s license, speeding, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a catalytic converter from a customer’s 2004 Honda Odyssey.

 

9/2       Location:  15723 S. Annico Drive                              American Classic Auto Sales

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole catalytic converters from a 2003 Cadillac and from a 2018 Hyundai Tucson.

 

9/3       Location:  12108 W. 159^th St.                        Mobile Gas

            Summary:  Two unknown males wearing hoodies and gloves threw a large brick through the front door of the station.  The offender/s stole approximately 25 cartons of cigarettes, several vape pens, and about $200.

 

            Location:  13000 block of W. Thistle Court

            Summary:  Daniel Cirrintano, age 40, of W. Thistle Court in Homer Glen was cited for expired registration and driving while license suspended.

 

9/4       Location:  W. 159^th St. and S. Bell Road

            Summary:  Elijah Richardson, age 31, of W. 61^st St. in Chicago was cited for speeding, driving while license suspended and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

 

            Location:  14000 block of S. Bell Road

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a purse with credit cards inside.  Offender had already made purchases a Best Buy, Target and Shell gas station before the owner realized the purse had been stolen.

 

WEST TOWNSHIPS

 

9/3       Location:  14000 block of S. Georgetown Drive                    Plainfield

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a 2016 Kia Optima while it was legally parked on the roadway.  A side window was broken out in order for offender/s to enter the vehicle.  The owner stated that the vehicle was locked, and he was in possession of both sets of keys. 

 

9/4       Location:  22000 block of W. Norwich Lane                         Plainfield

            Summary:  Person/s unknown attempted to steal a 2015 Kia Rio while it was parked in a driveway.  The vehicle was unlocked at time of attempted theft.  Offender/s had torn the steering column from the dashboard.  Romeoville Police reported four Kia vehicles stolen in their jurisdiction this date.  Romeoville PD made two juvenile arrests.

 

9/5       Location:  S. Largo Court and W. Lakeland Trail                  Plainfield

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered a 2017 Hyundai and attempted to steal it by removing the steering column from the dashboard and removing the locking cylinder.

            Summary:  Karl Walters, age 66, of 5813 Webster St. in Downers Grove was arrested for DUI, improper lighting and disobeying a traffic control device.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered a vehicle and stole a wallet and loose change.

            Summary:  Joseph Busich, age 63, of 324 Crawford in Peotone was arrested for DUI, blocking a railroad crossing and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

            Summary:  Ziad Sheban, age 39, of Lochwood Place in Tinley Park was cited for aggravated speeding.

            Summary:  Victim stated that about an hour and a half after he arrived at the golf course, he received a notification from his bank regarding suspicious activity on his credit card.  Victim stated he went to his vehicle in the parking lot and realized person/s unknown had entered it and stole credit cards from his wallet.

            Summary:  John E. Wilson, III, age 25, of 20903 W. Bloomfield Drive in Plainfield was arrested for aggravated criminal damage to property and resisting a peace officer.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered a vehicle and stole a purse containing credit cards, car keys and driver’s license.  While deputies were taking the report the victim was alerted by her bank for a possible fraud transaction of $500 at a nearby Wal-Mart.

            Summary:  Kenneth Whennen, age 20, of Knox Place in Joliet was cited for driving while license suspended, aggravated speeding and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stripped a tractor of the two side headlights, rearview mirrors, doors, fenders with steps, bottom fender extensions and both extend cab fenders.

            Summary:  Michael Miller, age 22, of Grey Ghost Avenue in San Jose, CA was cited for aggravated speeding.

 

            Location:  S. Rt. 53 and W. Wilmington-Peotone Road                    Wilmington

            Summary:  Ryan Kuri, age 20, of Widows Road in Wilmington was cited for aggravated speeding.

 

            Location:  2100 block of Lakewood Drive                                         Wilmington

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a 2021 Mercury fishing boat from the owners boat dock.  The owner reported his boat missing at 7:15am and showed deputies where offender/s had cut the ropes where the boat had been tied. Deputies were dispatched at 10:41am to South Island Park where Wilmington Police had located the boat on the southwest side of the island.  No damage was found to the boat.

8/21     Location:  I55 and W. Lorenzo Road                                     Wilmington

            Summary:  Hector Nevarez, age 41, of 5510 Salma St. in Plainfield was arrested for DUI, improper lane usage, improper turn at intersection and moving violations.

            Summary:  Joshua Bartow, age 29, of 5736 Echo Way in Indianapolis, IN was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and resisting a peace officer.

EAST TOWNSHIPS

8/19     Location:  28000 block of S. Ridgeland                                 Peotone

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a 2021 Karavan utility trailer that was parked in a driveway.  While reviewing video surveillance it showed a black pickup truck pull into the driveway and steal the trailer.  The incident occurred around 4am.

            Location:  25000 block of S. Kensington Lane                      Monee

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke into a residence and stole jewelry. 

WEST TOWNSHIPS

8/19     Location:  21000 block of W. Covington Drive                     Plainfield

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke into a 2014 Kia Sportage and damaged the steering column in an attempt to steal the vehicle.  Owner believes that the vehicle was broken into on August 16.

8/20     Location:  S. Weber and S. Highpoint Drive                          DuPage

            Summary:  Amaya Reed, age 22, of 2905 Old Kent Drive in Joliet was cited for improper lighting, suspended registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

8/21     Location:  22000 block of W. Pasadena Drive                       Plainfield

            Summary:  Joseph Depalma, age 27, no permanent address, was arrested for domestic battery, aggravated battery to a police officer and resisting arrest.  Depalma was arrested while deputies were attempting to serve a warrant.  He had three active warrants out of DuPage County, Hendricks County, IN, and Marion County in IN.

8/22     Location:  23000 block of W. 119^th St.                                  Plainfield

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a 2002 Dodge Dakota pick up truck from the back yard of a residence.

WEST TOWNSHIPS

 

8/11     Location:  13909 S. Budler Road                   Plainfield                     Creekside Elementary School

            Summary:  Deputies were called around 6:30am regarding an unoccupied 2016 Kia Optima on the school’s property.  The engine was stilled running and it appeared that the vehicle had pulled into the parking lot, hit a curb, went into the grass, crossed over a sidewalk then back into the grass where it stopped.  The driver’s door was open, and the vehicle had a flat front tire.  No keys were in the ignition and the entire steering column had been opened and damaged.  Deputies also discovered several circular tire tracks in the back parking lot where the stolen vehicle had been doing ‘donuts’. 

   Deputies were notified that the vehicle had been reported stolen from a Baytree Drive residence in Romeoville.  Romeoville Police arrived on the scene and informed deputies that a nearby residence in which the vehicle was stolen had video footage that revealed four individuals entering the vehicle around 3am and stealing it. 

 

8/12     Location:  21000 block of W. Franklin Circle                        Plainfield

            Summary:  Around 3:30am, person/s unknown broke into a 2017 Kia Sportage, tore the steering column panel off and pulled wiring out in an attempt to steal the vehicle.  Two debit cards and $40 were stolen from the vehicle.

 

            Location:  14000 block of S. Edgewater Drive                      Plainfield

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an unlocked 2018 Kia Sorento that was parked in the driveway of a residence and damaged the steering wheel column and turn signal.  The interior of the vehicle was in complete disarray. 

 

            Location:  13909 S. Budler Road                   Plainfield                     Creekside Elementary School

            Summary:  While on additional patrol in Lakewood Falls subdivision due to the increase in motor vehicle thefts, deputies observed a 2020 Kia Telluride in the east parking lot of the school.  The vehicle was unoccupied and had a flat tire.  Deputies contacted the owner around 4:45am who was surprised to find out his vehicle was missing.  The vehicle was stolen from the residence on the 14000 block of S. Crete Court in Plainfield. 

 

8/13     Location:  21000 block of W. Chastworth Lane                    Plainfield

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke into a 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe and attempted to steal the vehicle by damaging the steering column and ignition.

 

8/14     Location:  S. Independence Blvd and University Parkway                DuPage

            Summary:  Aliyah Magana, age 24, of Silver Rock Drive in Crest Hill was cited for aggravated speeding.

 

            Location:  13000 block of S. Jonesport Circle                       Plainfield

            Summary:  Resident stated, while reviewing overnight video surveillance, they observed four unknown male subjects all wearing dark clothing and masks, attempt to enter their 2019 Kia.  The subjects pulled on the door handles however the vehicle was locked.  The subjects were observed leaving the area on foot.

 

8/15     Location:  22000 block of W. Miller Drive                            Plainfield

            Summary:  Victim stated that an unknown female black walked to his front step and stole an Amazon package off his front step.   The offender was observed on video footage. 

 

            Location:  13909 S. Budler Road                   Plainfield                     Creekside Elementary School

            Summary:  About 3am, while conducting added patrols in Lakewood Falls, deputies observed an upside-down bicycle in the field and a male juvenile, approximately 5’5” with dark clothing and a hoody.  The subject ran north across the field into the Isle Royal Circle area of the neighborhood. Deputies then smelled fresh paint and observed several gang related graffiti markings on the dumpster and bench near the playground.  They also observed a marking scratched into a window of the school.

8/10     Location:  95 S. Chicago St.                           Adult Detention Facility

            Summary:  Kelvyn Flores-Calvillo, age 24, of 3104 Gloria Lane in Joliet was charged with possessing contraband inside a penal institution after correctional officers discovered a small, handheld, torn up bed sheet containing knots and a rubber door stopper inside the knotted sheet hidden inside a cell mattress.

 

8/12     Location:  McDonough and S. Chicago

            Summary:  Deandre L. Smith, age 34, of Gardner Street in Joliet was cited for driving while license suspended, suspended registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

 

            Location:  1500 block of N. Broadway

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a 2017 Lincoln Continental from a fenced in parking lot.

 

8/13     Location:  N. Larkin and Ingalls

            Summary:  Jose Renteria, age 51, of 2943 N. Linder in Chicago was arrested for aggravated DUI, DUI, driving while license revoked, improper lane usage, failure to signal and speeding.  He was also held on an active Will County warrant.

 

            Location:  Maple Road and Elgin

            Summary:  David L. Hatten, Jr., age 47, of 1401 Fairview Avenue in Joliet was arrested for DUI and improper lane usage.

 

8/15     Location:  Peale Street

            Summary:  Person/s unknown, driving a silver Impala, drove by a residence/apartment and shot multiple bullets at the building.  Three bullets were found that went through a front window, one causing damage to a TV.  Residents were home at the time of the shooting however no one was injured. Other bullets holes were found in a vacant apartment next door.

 

FRANKFORT AND NEW LENOX

 

8/9       Location:  19730 S. Harlem Avenue              Frankfort                     Speedway Gas

            Summary:  Around midnight, deputies responded to an armed robbery at the Speedway Gas station.  Two employees stated that an unknown male black subject wearing an N95 mask, and a hoody entered the store, grabbed three bags of chips, and approached the counter.  A customer also approached the counter at the same time.  The male black then went around to the back of the counter, lifted his hoody to display a semi-automatic pistol and stated “Get on the ground” multiple times.  The employees and the customer complied, and the offender stole USC from the register and ran out of the store.  No one was injured. 

 

8/10     Location:  13000 block of W. Elizabeth                     Mokena

            Summary:  Victim stated that while arriving back home around 5pm, she observed an unknown Ford Explorer in the driveway.  Victim then observed three large men wearing masks and glasses who stated that they were with a tree service.  The victim immediately called 911 and stayed inside her vehicle.  The Ford then left the area.  When deputies arrived, the victim observed that her back glass door had been broken into.  It did not appear that the offenders had made full entry into the residence.

 

EAST TOWNSHIPS

 

8/11     Location:  1900 block of E. Burville Rd.                               Crete

            Summary:  Deputies responded to an activated alarm system and observed a front door that had been kicked open.  Owner arrived on scene to find that offender/s had stolen jewelry and had ransacked rooms within the residence.

 

            Location:  24142 S. Governors Highway                   Monee Inn                   Monee

            Summary:  Person/s unknown kicked in the back door of the building and stole five air conditioning units and a television.  The Inn is currently closed and under renovation.

 

8/14     Location:  1700 block of W. Norfolk Avenue                        Crete

            Summary:   Person/s unknown broke into a pole building and rifled through storage containers.  Nothing appeared to be missing.

8/15     Location:  S. Washington and E. Main                                   Reed

            Summary:  David Haga Jr., age 21, of 1005 Black Diamond Drive in Coal City was arrested for aggravated fleeing/eluding police, attempting to elude police, aggravated speeding, reckless driving, disobeying a traffic control device, improper lane usage, driving while license expired, and driver’s license classification violation.

            Summary:  Arturo Guzman-Marquez, age 24, of Schroeder Avenue in Peotone was cited for driving while license suspended and speeding.
