5/19     Location:  531 Old Hickory Road                                          New Lenox

            Summary:  Ronald C. Mazeika II, age 45, of this address was arrested for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, no FOID card and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon.

 

5/20     Location:  18000 block of S. Crystal Lake Drive                               Mokena

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered a garage and stole a 2018 Toyota Highlander.  Owner stated he was inside the house for about 1.5 hours and when he went back outside around 2pm the vehicle was gone.

 

5/21     Location:  18000 block of S. Virginia Lane                                       Mokena

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole an unlocked 2015 Dodge Charger during the overnight hours.  The vehicle also had the key fob inside at time of theft.

 

5/23     Location:  18000 block of S. Pineprairie Drive                                  Mokena

            Summary:  An unknown male/black wearing a mask entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a wallet and a credit card.  Video surveillance revealed the man got out of the passenger side door of a dark two-door sedan.

5/23     Location:  16056 S. Legion Court                  Plainfield

            Summary:  Owen Thompson, age 21, of this address was cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle. 

 

5/24     Location:  25032 W. Renwick Road              Mathers Woods           Plainfield

            Summary:  Victim stated that while she went for a walk in the woods person/s unknown broke out the passenger side window of her vehicle and stole a wallet that had been hidden under a seat. 

 

HOMER GLEN

 

5/19     Location:  15060 S. Bell Road                                   Speedway Gas

            Summary:  Around 3am deputies were dispatched to Speedway for an alarm activation.  Upon arrival, they observed the front door glass had been shattered by a large stone.  Person/s unknown had entered the store and stole USC and about 30 packs of Marlboro cigarettes.  Video surveillance revealed three subjects getting out of a silver four-door sedan, breaking into the store and leaving with two black garbage bags and a box of cigarettes. 

 

            Location:  14321 S. Golden Oak Drive                      Cigarettes and Cigars

            Summary:  Around 3:02am, deputies were dispatched to this business for an alarm activation.  Upon arrival deputies observed the glass door cracked and propped open with a landscaping brick.  The store had been rifled through.  Stolen was a TV, 1000 cigarette cartons, 50 cigar boxes, USC, e-cigarette devices, and tobacco.

 

5/23     Location:  16000 block of S. Parker Road

            Summary:  Jose Padilla Juarez, age 25, of 1105 Magnolia Drive in Joliet was cited for failure to yield private drive and expired driver’s license.

 

JOLIET

 

 

5/20     Location:  1100 Gael Drive

            Summary:  Larry V. Anderson, age 47, of 176 Ronald in Joliet was arrested for improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, failure to carry license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, DUI, driving while license suspended, and DUI/drugs.  Anderson was also charged with six additional aggravated DUI charges and aggravate driving suspensions.

 

5/23     Location:  1822 E. Washington St.                Ingalls Park Liquor

            Summary:  Corey Kelly, age 21, of 300 Anderson in Joliet was arrested for aggravated battery and aggravated assault.

 

            Location:  1100 block of Magnolia Drive

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke into a residence and stole jewelry.

 

            Location:  1913 S. Chicago St.                                   Ranch Liquors

            Summary:  A Kia Forte was recovered in the parking lot of this business.  Joliet Police had reported the vehicle stolen earlier that day.

 

            Location:  Knollwood Place and E. Washington St.

            Summary:  Jeffery Brown, age 52, of 656 Second Avenue in Joliet was cited for driving while license revoked, improper display of registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

 

5/24     Location:  3800 block of Rollingwood Court

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a 2018 Jeep Cherokee from the driveway of a residence.  The keys were in the ignition with the doors unlocked at time of theft.  Dolton Police later located the vehicle in their jurisdiction.

 

            Location:  2300 block of Hemlock St.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke the rear window of a vehicle in order to gain access.  Two tote bags were stolen with paperwork inside.  The paperwork was discovered at the intersection of Kellogg and Garden.

            Summary:  Derian Moreno, age 24, of 1006 Retta Court in Joliet was cited for improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and driving while license revoked.

 

            Location:  95 S. Chicago St.                           Adult Detention Facility

            Summary:  William J. Clemmons, age 43, of 416 W. Briarcliff Road in Bolingbrook was charged with criminal damage to state property.

 

5/14     Location:  S. Chicago St. and I80

            Summary:  Bryson Jarron Travis, age 27, of 20414 Glen Vista Lane in Crest Hill was cited for operating vehicle with suspended registration, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and no valid driver’s license.

 

            Location:  2400 block of Hel-mar Lane

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered a vehicle and stole a wallet containing cash and credit cards.  Video surveillance observed a white SUV pull up in front of the residence with a subject exiting the vehicle and stealing the wallet.

 

            Location:  3400 block of Regan Road

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a key fob, Glock 22 magazine and a driver’s license.

 

5/16     Location:  95 S. Chicago St.                           Adult Detention Facility

            Summary:  Edgar Luvianos, age 25, of 605 N. Reed St. in Joliet was charged with criminal damage to state property.

5/14     Location:  213 Robson

            Summary:  Nashay Chambers, age 22, of this address, was arrested for possession of a stolen firearm, unlawful use of a weapon, no FOID card, and firearm child protection act.

5/13     Location:  2850 E. Division St.                                  Sunshine Garden Center                     Reed

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke into the garden center and stole USC from the office area and the cash registers.

HOMER GLEN

 

5/16

            Location:  13000 block of S Belmont Drive

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke into a recently finished townhome and caused major damage throughout.  Offender/s broke the staircase handrails, banister railing, several kitchen cabinets and drawers, broken exterior window, washer and dryer power cords were cut, and several broken bathroom drawers and cabinets were discovered.  Offender/s also turned on all bathroom and kitchen sink faucets and closed the drains causing the sinks to overflow.  Water was observed dripping through the light fixtures and ceilings throughout the kitchen as well as into the basement and garage.  Extensive damage to the drywall and paint caused by the water was observed.  Estimated damage was over $100,000.

 

WEST TOWNSHIPS

 

5/13     Location:  9900 block of S. Clow Creek Road                      Plainfield

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a 2015 Mercedes Benz GLA250 from the parking lot of a trucking business.  All keys to the vehicle were in possession of the owner. 

 

5/17     Location:  10000 block of S. Clow Creek Road                    Plainfield

            Summary:  Donatas Braziulis, age 21, of 10S540 Windjammer Lane in Naperville was arrested for criminal trespass to vehicle.

 

5/18     Location:  Plainfield Road and S. Frontage Road                  Plainfield

            Summary:  Lonnie Trent IV, age 21, of 556 Belmont Drive in Romeoville was arrested for aggravated battery to a police officer and resisting arrest.

            Summary:  John Norwick, age 51, of 204 S. Center St. in Braidwood was cited for driving on a revoked license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and failure to yield to avoid an accident.

            Summary:  Charles P. Peterson, age 54, of this address, was arrested for unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, no FOID card, possession of ammunition.

5/7       Location:  200 block of Barr Elms

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke into an unoccupied home and stole a security camera, a toolbox, a cordless tools and miscellaneous hand tools.

 

5/9       Location:  2300 block of New Lenox Road

            Summary:  Ted V. Trulley, age 42, of 640 N. Locust St. in Frankfort was arrested for no FOID card and unlawful possession of firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition.

 

            Location:  N. Hickory and Western

            Summary:  Raymond Daniels, age 27, of 1106 Spring Green Drive in Joliet was arrested possession of cannabis under 100grams. Delante Stribling, age 31, of 109 Pheasant Run Road in Joliet was arrested for unlawful use of a weapon. 

 

WEST TOWNSHIPS

 

5/7       Location:  14058 S. Edgewater Drive                        Plainfield

            Summary:  Deja Forte, age 22, of this address was arrested with two counts of resisting a police officer.

 

5/8       Location:  22000 block of W. Pasadena Drive                       Plainfield

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke into a garage.  When the home alarm activated the offender fled the scene.

 

5/9       Location:  W. Renwick Road and S. Frontage Road             Plainfield

            Summary:  Nicholas J. Strickland, age 27, of 216 Illinois St. in Joliet was arrested for DUI, unlawful possession of cannabis, illegal transportation of alcohol, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, and driving while license suspended.

 

            Location:  11000 block of S. Rt. 59                                        Wheatland

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an unlocked work vehicle and stole a tool bag with miscellaneous hand tools inside, an electronic meter and an electric battery charger.

5/5       Location:  W. 151^st and S. Bell Road

            Summary:  Betty Beran, age 57, of 13714 W. Cavecreek Court in Homer Glen was arrested for driving too fast for conditions, improper lane usage, DUI, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

 

            Location:  Parker Road and 131^st St.

            Summary:  Hilda Ortiz Lingle, age 47, of 13522 W. Choctaw Trail in Homer Glen was arrested for DUI, improper backing, improper lane usage and 2 counts of endangering the life of a child.

 

FRANKFORT AND NEW LENOX

 

5/7       Location:  7654 W. Lincoln Highway                                    Shell Gas

            Summary:  Victim stated around 3:45pm she was at the gas station with her daughter putting air in her bike’s tires outside the rear lift gate of her vehicle when an unknown male entered the vehicle and stole her purse.  The man was a Hispanic dressed in all black and was seen leaving in a silver Honda SUV with three other male Hispanics inside.  A citizen located the purse down the street and it was returned to the victim.  A cell phone and wallet had been stolen.

 

5/10     Location:  7700 block of W. Galeview Lane                         Frankfort

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a gift card and $400 in cash.

 

5/11     Location:  7400 block of W.Benton Drive                             Frankfort

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a 2018 Nissan Sentra that was unlocked and had the keys inside.  The victim stated that leaving her vehicle unlocked was an oversight.

 4/29     Location:  20000 block of S. Timberline Drive                                 Frankfort

 

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a 2007 Honda Accord from the driveway of a residence.  The vehicle was unlocked and the keys were inside at time of theft.  Mokena Police reported another vehicle that was stolen on the next street on Pinegrove the same evening.

 

5/1       Location:  13000 block of W. 184^th Place                                          Frankfort

            Summary:  Deputies were called to a residence regarding a security alarm going off.  While traveling to the residence they observed a 2018 Chevy Traverse stopped in the middle of the road on the 12000 block of 184^th Place.  The vehicle was idling with the keys in it and was unoccupied.  Deputies observed fresh tire tracks in a residence yard and went to the door of the residence.  The homeowner identified the vehicle as theirs and was unaware that it had been stolen out of the garage.  It appeared that offender/s used the garage door opener that was in a second vehicle in the driveway to open the garage door and then stole the Traverse.

 

            Location:  12000 block of W. 184^th Place                                          Frankfort

            Summary:  Two unknown men were observed on video surveillance checking door handles on two vehicles that were parked in the driveway of a residence.  Both vehicles were unlocked and the offender opened and entered them.  Nothing was missing from one vehicle and a small amount of change was taken from the other.

 

            Location:  12000 block of W. 184^th Place                                          Frankfort

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a 2008 Lexus GS from the driveway of a residence.  The vehicle was unlocked with the keys inside at time of theft.

 JOLIET

 4/28     Location:  1800 block of E. Washington St.

 

            Summary:  Deputies were called to a call regarding shots fired.  Upon arriving they spoke to two male subjects, one 17 years old and one 18 years old.  Both initially stated that they were walking down the street when a van drove by and started shooting at them.  Both subjects were transported to Silver Cross Hospital; the 17 year old was shot in the hand and the 18 year old was shot multiple times in the chest.  It was later revealed that the two subjects were shooting at each other.  The 17 year old juvenile was later arrested for aggravated unlawful use of a firearm, aggravated discharge of a firearm, aggravated battery and reckless conduct.  This remains an open investigation.

 

            Location:  Grinton and Cass

            Summary:  Natalya Linares, age 18, of 1101 Mills Road in Joliet was cited for failure to signal, fleeing/eluding the police and reckless driving.

 

5/2       Location:  95 S. Chicago St.                           Adult Detention Facility

            Summary:  Quinton L. Jenkins, age 37, of 312 Morris in Joliet was charged with aggravated battery to a correctional officer.

 

            Location:  1100 block of Sheila Drive

            Summary:  Angeline Harper, age 37, of 7915 S. Saginaw in Chicago was charged with disorderly conduct.

 

SOUTH TOWNSHIPS

 5/3       Location:  700 block of E. Dayton Court                               Reed

 

            Summary:  Three subjects were observed running away from a residence that was being renovated.  Owner of the residence stated that seven brand new windows had been broken.

4/21     Location:  19730 S. Harlem                            Frankfort                     Speedway Gas

            Summary:  Manager stated that on 4/3/20 she reported a theft of cartons of cigarettes.  She reviewed the video surveillance from 4/17/20 and observed the same subject, male/black in his 50’s, steal six more cartons of cigarettes.

 

            Location:  W. Southwest Highway and S. Spring Meadows Drive               Frankfort

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a 2004 AVS RC60 Skidsteer from a construction site.

 

4/22     Location:  19730 S. Harlem                            Frankfort                     Speedway Gas

            Summary:  Manager stated that a male/black with short hair wearing a surgical mask came behind the counter and stole her purse.  The subject walked away with the purse, removed her wallet, and then returned the purse to its original place.  Wallet contained driver’s license, $20, and credit cards.

 

4/24     Location:  18000 block of S. Leanne Lane                Frankfort

            Summary:  Homeowner stated, while inside her residence her phone kept alerting her to unauthorized transactions on her credit card.  When she went to her garage to get her purse inside her vehicle she realized that her 2016 Jeep Cherokee had been stolen.  The keys had also been left inside the vehicle.

 

WEST TOWNSHIPS

 

4/23     Location:  22525 W. Lockport St.                  Plainfield Township Administration Office

            Summary:  Victim stated she parked her car in order to walk the Lake Renwick trail.  When she arrived back at her vehicle she observed a side window broken out and her purse missing.  She was later notified that person/s unknown made two illegal charges on two of her credit cards.

 

            Location:  22525 W Lockport St.                   Plainfield Township Administration Office

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke out a vehicle window in order to gain entry while the vehicle owner was walking the Lake Renwick trail.  A purse was stolen from inside.

 

4/26     Location:  21000 block of W. Kentwood Drive                                 Plainfield

            Summary:  Deputies reported that five vehicles (at three different residents) were vandalized with red spray paint.

 

LOCKPORT

 

4/21     Location:  800 block of Northern Drive

            Summary:  Resident stated that a male/white, about 50 years of age, 6’3”, muscular build wearing a yellow safety vest came to her residence and rang her doorbell.  When she spoke to the man, he had a Polish accent.  He stated that he was doing work and hit a water line to her property and needed to come inside to test her water.  The resident allowed the man to come inside and he began running her tap water.  The man was speaking on a walkie-talkie while he was inside the home.  The man asked several questions relating to other entrances to the home and who else lived in the residence.  The man left in a black van with no distinguishing marks.   The resident later realized that a wedding band, diamond earrings, silver dollars and an imitation diamond ring had been stolen from a bedroom.

 

4/22     Location:  E. Romeo Road and N. New Avenue

            Summary:  Edwin Castrellon, age 25, of 1224 W. 49^th Place in Chicago was cited for driving while license suspended and speeding.

 

4/26     Location:  1300 block of Highland

            Summary: Person/s unknown broke into a residence and ransacked it.  Offender/s sprayed hand soaps and lotions onto the walls, dumped soda onto beds and floors, threw dog food on a bed and ransacked a vehicle at the property.  Nothing was stolen from inside the vehicle. Credit cards were stolen from inside the home but it was unclear at time of report if anything else was stolen from the residence.  Damage was extensive.

4/23     Location:  1500 block of S. Ottawa

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke into a residence and stole three hunting bows, a crossbow, two Playstation systems and a backpack with hunting supplies inside.

 

HOMER GLEN

 

4/21     Location:  14000 block of S. Camden Road

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a maintenance light, drill, jigsaw, hammer drill and miscellaneous hand tools.

 

4/23     Location:  14000 block of S. Elizabeth Lane

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a checkbook.

 

            Location:  14000 block of W. Edinburgh Court

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered two unlocked vehicles and stole a social security card, a garage door opener and $20.

 

4/24     Location:  12147 W. 159^th St.                        Eddys Tobacco

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke the front glass door of the business in order to gain entry.  Offender/s stole 50 cartons of Marlboro and 30 cartons of Newport cigarettes.

 

SOUTH TOWNSHIPS

 

4/21     Location:  18000 block of W. South St.                                 Wilmington

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a large bag with fishing gear inside.

 

            Location:  34000 block of S. Wildwood St.                           Wilmington

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a 2016 Jeep Cherokee from the driveway of a home.  The key fob was in the possession of the vehicle owner. 

 

4/22     Location:  35000 block of S. Rt. 53                            Wilmington           Exelon Nuclear Plant

            Summary:  Jeremiah J. Thomas, age 34, of 1550 Pine Bluff Road in Morris was arrested for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and no FOID card after he was found to be in possession of a weapon while entering the security area of the nuclear plant.

 

4/25     Location:  25000 block of S. Redstone                      Manhattan

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered a vehicle and stole a laptop.

 

            Location:  13000 block of W. Haley                          Manhattan

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a wallet containing identifying cards, credit cards, and USC.

 

4/26     Location:  25000 block of S. Timber Drive                                       Jackson

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole an unlocked 2016 Dodge Charger from the driveway of a residence.  The keys were inside the vehicle at time of theft.

 

4/27     Location:  25000 block of S. Timber Drive                                       Jackson

            Summary:  Homeowner stated around 1:44am she observed a subject getting into a vehicle on the street that was being followed by a second vehicle.  Both vehicles appeared to be small sport cars.  Upon checking outside, she realized that two of her vehicles had been entered.  They were unlocked at the time.  A garage door was stolen.

 

            Location:  20000 block of W. Manhattan Road                                 Jackson

            Summary:  Deputies were dispatched to an unoccupied Lincoln SUV that was still running and parked at Manhattan Road and Brandon Road.  Upon finding the owner of the vehicle, it was discovered that the vehicle had been stolen during the night.  A wallet with credit cards and an Iphone were missing from the vehicle.

 

            Location:  24000 block of S. Walnut Street                                       Jackson

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a garage door opener.  A witness informed deputies that around 2am he observed two subjects running from the driveway where the vehicle was burglarized.  The subjects entered a blue Jeep Cherokee and drove north bound on Walnut St.
