1/20     Location:  21000 block of S. Schoolhouse Road                   New Lenox

            Summary:  Charlene Mikolaitus-Kucynda, age 43, of 889 Arrowhead Drive in Elwood was cited for following too closely, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, failure to report accident to police authority and leaving the scene of an accident.

 

            Location:  11118 W. 189^th Place                    Emerald Bloom Landscape                Mokena

            Summary:  Two unknown subjects, driving a pickup truck, were observed on video footage stealing a 2007 black, 16-foot open utility trailer.  Shortly after it was stolen, it was reported traveling on LaGrange Road at I80.

 

EAST TOWNSHIPS

 

1/21     Location:  24000 block of S. Western Avenue                      Crete

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a catalytic converter off a vehicle that was parked in the parking lot of a business.

 

1/22     Location:  3400 block of W. Crete-Monee Road                   Monee

            Summary:  Alliyah Jamison, age 20, of 428 Sibley Blvd in Calumet City was arrested for DUI, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, improper lane usage, illegal transportation of open alcohol and illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor.

 

LOCKPORT

 

1/18     Location:  200 block of Fairmont Avenue

            Summary:  Complainant stated that around 5pm, while they were traveling near the intersection of Fairmont and Green Garden, they observed a dark colored, four-door sedan traveling northbound on Green Garden.  The sedan cut the complainant off and headed westbound on Fairmont.  The complainant then observed the driver and front passenger lean out the window and fire multiple shots towards houses along Fairmont.  Deputies located eleven shell casings on the roadway.  Three vehicles were struck while parked in front of homes.  No one injuries were reported.

 

SOUTH TOWNSHIPS

 

1/20     Location:  W. Baltimore and N. First St.                               Wilmington

            Summary:  Jairo Murillo Rojo, age 20, of 922 Spencer Road in Joliet was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, expired registration, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, no registration light and improper lighting.

1/18     Location:  W. Bruce Road and S. Robert Emmett Drive

            Summary:  Alina Nastas, age 33, of 17758 S. Robert Emmett Drive in Homer Glen was cited for operating vehicle with suspended registration, no valid license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and aggravated speeding.

 

1/19     Location:  12000 block of W. 159^th St.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown smashed out the passenger window of a vehicle in order to gain entry and steal a blue workbag containing lunch containers. 

 

1/21     Location:  S. Gougar and W. 151^st St.

            Summary:  Eva Prekopova, age 51, of 7851 Cronin Avenue in Justice was cited for no valid driver’s license and speeding.

            Summary:  Rachel E. Maugeri, age 25, of 433 E. Jackson in Joliet was arrested for DUI, improper lane usage, improper turn at intersection and expired registration.

            Summary:  Cynthia Delsasso, age 58, of 1328 Eunice in Joliet was charged with battery.

            Summary:  Toni White, age 36, of 1405 N. Arthurn Burns in Bourbonnais was charged with defrauding a court ordered drug/alcohol screening.

            Summary:  Porfirio Casteneda-Mendez, age 51, of 425 Ingalls Avenue in Joliet was arrested for DUI and improper lane usage.

 

1/22     Location:  Essington and Big Timber Drive

            Summary:  Drakkar Johnson, age 33, of 16335 S. Drexel in South Holland was cited for suspended registration and driving while license suspended.

 

            Location:  1600 block of E. Cass

            Summary:  Corey D. Jones, Jr., age 21, of 1404 Freedom Blvd. in Joliet was arrested for fleeing/eluding police, reckless driving, aggravated speeding, driving on wrong side of road, illegal passing, improper passing/unsafe to oncoming traffic, failure to carry driver’s license on person, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

 

            Location:  Grape Street

            Summary:  Deputies were called to a residence around 1pm where they spoke with the homeowner who stated that an unknown male Hispanic came to the front door identifying himself as ‘Francisco’ from the water company.  Francisco asked to come into the residence to check the homes water pipes to release bacteria inside of them.  The homeowner allowed Francisco into the home and was directed to open all cabinet doors and to run the water on all faucets.  The homeowner followed Francisco’s directions.  The homeowner was then handed a mallet and directed to bang on the pipes to release the bacteria.  After a short time, the homeowner stopped banging on the pipes and then witnessed two additional unknown males in the bedroom.  Upon seeing the homeowner, the unknown men ran out of the house and left the area.  A small amount of cash was missing.

 

            Location:  436 S. Briggs St.               Speedway

            Summary:  An employee reported to deputies that she received a phone call at the store from a male who stated he was from the corporate office and needed the employee to purchase Google play cards worth $200 from the store cash register.  The employee was told that the cards would be going towards an upcoming fire inspection.  The employee followed the directions and gave the caller the numbers off the Google cards.  Once the payments went through the male called back and requested that additional cards be purchased at a different Speedway store.  It was discovered that the male caller was a fraudulent scammer.

 

1/23     Location:  500 block of Harwood St.

            Summary:  Anthony M. Apostolou, III, age 31, of 811 Ann in Joliet was arrested for felony disorderly conduct.

 

1/24     Location:  95 S. Chicago St.                           Adult Detention Facility

            Summary:  Jeffrey J. Hayes, age 19, of 349 Appling Lane in Bolingbrook was charged with aggravated battery to a correctional officer.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole mail from the business mailbox.  The business owner was contacted by his bank and notified that a check that was written out to him was forged and cashed by another person.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole mail from the business mailbox. One of the business’ customers contacted the office manager and stated that a check that the customer had mailed to the business had been forged and cashed.  The amount was originally for $309.96 and was fraudulently altered to $6,309.96.

            Summary:  William C. Sevening, age 22, was cited for speeding and driving while license suspended.

 

1/14     Location:  E. Cass and Collins

            Summary:  Salvador Luciano, age 39, of 207 Eastern in Joliet was cited for no valid driver’s license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, failure to secure child in safety seat and no tail lights.

 

1/15     Location:  95 S. Chicago St.                           Adult Detention Facility

            Summary:  Trevon D. Moffett, age 18, of 611 E. Cass St. in Joliet was cited for battery after he threw feces at another inmate.

 

1/16     Location:  Highland Park and E. Cass

            Summary:  J Rogelio Lopez-Lopez, age 49, of 1100 Parkwood Drive in Joliet was arrested for DUI, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, illegal transportation of alcohol and illegal stopping on roadway.

 

FRANKFORT AND NEW LENOX

 

1/14     Location:  19000 block of Beechnut Drive                Mokena

            Summary:  Charles Lindsey, age 49, of Beechnut Drive in Mokena was cited for uncontrolled dog on public place/private property.  Around 7:15pm, deputies were dispatched to Aurelios Restaurant in Frankfort regarding a dog bite that had occurred to a delivery driver.  Upon arrival, they spoke with a 54-year-old male who stated that while delivering a pizza to the residence on Beechnut Drive, the homeowner opened the door and a boxer dog ran out and bit him multiple times in the upper thigh, inner leg and knee.  The dog owner grabbed the dog and brought him inside.  The dog then ran outside again and began biting the pizza box. Deputies spoke with the dog owner and cited him.

            Summary:  Islam Saber, age 27, of this address, was arrested for battery, aggravated assault and obstructing identification.

1/13     Location:  S. Dixie Highway and Main St.                            Crete

            Summary:  Shakeetta Campbell, age 40, of 24901 S. Willow Brook Trail in Crete was cited for driving while license suspended.

            Summary:  Deshawn Easley, age 33, of 311 W. Colfax Avenue in South Bend was cited for driving while license suspended and speeding.

            Summary:  An unknown male/white with a beard was observed on video surveillance kicking in three apartment doors.  The subject is seen entering each room but did not remove or damage any other items.  The motel is currently uninhabitable due to a fire in June.

            Summary:  Tyran Beard, age 23, of 10133 S. Lowe Avenue in Chicago was cited for driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and speeding.

            Summary:  Eboni Rucker, age 35, of 677 Sullivan Lane in University Park was cited for driving too fast for conditions, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

            Summary:  Chacity Johnson, age 20, of 2612 Ruth Fitzgerald Drive in Plainfield was charged with resisting arrest.

            Summary:  Eric Upchurch, age 39, of 134 S.  First St. in Wilmington was charged with aggravated battery to a correctional officer.

 

            Location:  95 S. Chicago St.                           Adult Detention Facility

            Summary:  James P. Rowland, age 21, of 398 E. Main St. in Braidwood was charged with criminal damage to government property.

 

1/7       Location:  Frederick St. and Hutchins

            Summary:  Nevin L. McMurtry, age 19, of 300 Hickory St. in Romeoville was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle and resisting a police officer after deputies observed a Buick Encore in the area of Catherine and Theodore that matched the description of a stolen vehicle out of Chicago.  Deputies followed the vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop.  The vehicle traveled down Richmond St. before it left the roadway and stopped in the yard of a home on Raynor Avenue.  Four occupants exited the vehicle and fled in different directions.  A Sheriff Deputy was able to apprehend McMurtry and he was identified as being the driver of the stolen vehicle.  A 15-year-old male subject was also apprehended.  Both subjects were brought in for questioning and both subjects refused to cooperate with deputies.  The juvenile was released to his guardian and McMurtry was arrested. 

 

1/9       Location:  Davison and 2^nd Avenue

            Summary:  Alexander Mendoza, age 21, of 425 Davison St. im Joliet was arrested for driving while license suspended, speeding, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and unlawful use of a weapon.

 

            Location:  16000 block of New Lenox Road

            Summary:  Jobe Scott, age 32, of 5325 S. Cottage Grove Avenue in Chicago was cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle and driving while license suspended.

 

1/10     Location:  E. Cass and Algonquin

            Summary:  Michael A. Cuevas, age 38, of 1002 Parkway Drive in Joliet was cited for driving while license suspended and was held on an active Will County warrant.

 

EAST TOWNSHIPS

 

1/5       Location:  E. Exchange and S. Cottage Grove                                   Crete

            Summary:  Carmella Nardi, age 32, of 742 E. Louella in Crete was cited for driving while license suspended.

 

            Location:  E. Exchange and E. Burville                                              Crete

            Summary:  At approximately 3:20am, Sheriff’s deputies responded to an accident.  Upon arrival, deputies observed a Lexus RX300 on the west side of Exchange, off the roadway, resting on its passenger side doors.  Deputies observed that the front windshield had been kicked out and no occupants were inside.  Deputies ran the vehicle registration and discovered that the vehicle had been reported out of Aurora.  The vehicle had also been spotted in Indiana by law enforcement agencies who had attempted to pursue the vehicle in their jurisdictions.

   During the investigation, deputies learned that a call had come into dispatch from a resident who stated that he observed a subject near the forest preserve who ran into a black BMW and drove off at a high rate of speed.

   A fully loaded handgun was recovered from the stolen vehicle, along with ammunition.   Under investigation.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered a vehicle and stole an empty purse, workbag containing a duty belt, gun holster, work radio, and a baton.

            Summary:  Carl N. Lewis, III, age 33, of 757 Lenox Avenue in Bolingbrook was cited for driving while license revoked, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

            Summary:  Owner of A&A Tech Transmission reported that a 2005 Volvo SUV was stolen from the business lot.  The vehicle belonged to a customer.

 

12/30   Location:  14000 block of S. Oakdale Circle             Plainfield

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a 2013 Chevy Equinox that was parked legally on the street in front of a residence.  The keys were not inside the vehicle at time of theft.  Chicago Police reported that the vehicle was recovered later that evening near 36^th Place in Chicago.

 

12/31   Location:  17000 block of S. Frontage Road             Plainfield

            Summary:  Robert C. Taylor, age 56, of 2520 Oak Tree Lane in Plainfield was arrested for DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol by driver, and resisting a peace officer.

 

            Location:  29w242 Mark Drive                                  Wheatland

            Summary:  Edward C. Samaan, age 28 of this address was arrested for aggravated battery of a peace officer, aggravated battery and domestic battery.

            Summary:  Brian K. Campbell, age 56, of 213 Riley was cited for speeding and driving while license suspended.  He was also held on an active Will County warrant.

            Summary:  Robert J. Wilda, age 51, of 218 Daggett Avenue in Lockport was cited for improper display of registration and driving while license suspended.

 

            Location:  S. Briggs and Parkview Lane

            Summary:  Vanessa Zafra, age 27, of 337 N. Center Street in Joliet was cited for obstructed windows and driving while license suspended.

 

FRANKFORT AND NEW LENOX

 

12/28   Location:  18000 block of S. Pineprairie Drive                                  Frankfort

            Summary:  At 5:45am, deputies responded to a burglary to motor vehicles in progress.  Upon arrival, deputies observed a gray Hyundai parked in the roadway, engine running, and unoccupied.  Deputies spoke to the caller who stated that while reviewing his camera footage he observed, about 4:12am, the Hyundai park on the road with a dark colored pickup truck pulling up next to it.  Five subjects were then seen exiting both vehicles and begin walking up to vehicles and opening the doors.  Two vehicles in the caller’s driveway were unlocked and the offender/s entered them.  Nothing was missing from either vehicle.  While doing a check on the Hyundai, deputies were notified that the vehicle license plate number had been reported stolen out of Evanston.  The vehicles VIN number showed the vehicle being reported stolen out of Romeoville.

 

12/28   Location:  18000 block of S. Pineprairie Drive                                  Frankfort

            Summary:  Victim stated that around 5:45am he woke up to see Sheriff’s deputies parked across the street at his neighbors. (See above report)  He then realized that his 2018 Ford Raptor had been stolen from his driveway.  Victim stated that he had left his truck unlocked with the keys inside.  The victim used his GPS vehicle location system and it indicated that the vehicle was parked on the 5000 block of S. Loomis in Chicago.  Chicago Police recovered the vehicle with no damage.

            Summary:  Owner stated that person/s unknown broke windows of the business in order to gain entry.   Stolen was $100, a Facebook portal, Samsung tablet, receipt printer and five bags of frozen chicken.

            Summary:  Marvin T. Rankins, age 35, of 1951 E. 73^rd Place in Chicago was arrested for aggravated assault, unlawful use of a weapon, resisting arrest and obstructing justice.

12/21   Location:  1300 block of Highland Avenue

            Summary:  An unknown male/white with gloves and a mask was observed fleeing from a vehicle that was parked in a driveway.  The offender stole a purse containing USC, make-up, and credit cards.  He was seen leaving the area in a blue BMW with tinted windows.  Lockport police notified that a vehicle had been stolen in their jurisdiction with a matching description.

 

12/23   Location:  I355 and W. 159^th St.

            Summary:  Quinn Doriety, age 33, of 406 Todd St. in Park Forest was cited for aggravated speeding.

            Summary:  Hermelindo Rodriguez, age 40, of 331 E. Benton in Joliet was cited for driving while license suspended, no valid driver’s license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, expired registration sticker and obstructed windshield.

            Summary:  Keith Gaines, age 27, of 13658 S. Jonesport Circle in Plainfield was charged with aggravated battery to a peace officer.

 

FRANKFORT AND NEW LENOX

 

12/22   Location:  7600 block of W. Inverary Drive                          Frankfort

            Summary:  Persons/s unknown stole a 2017 Nissan Rouge from the driveway of residence.  The vehicle owner had left the vehicle unlocked with the key fob inside.

 

12/23   Location:  20000 block of S. 80^th Avenue                              Frankfort

            Summary:  Victim stated that after returning home she observed an Amazon package on her front porch.  The package was expected to have a set of Apple Airpod headphones inside that the victim had ordered but the package was opened and empty.

  Video surveillance was reviewed.  Victim observed a male/black subject with dreadlocks wearing a stocking cap and an Amazon shirt delivering the package at 5:30pm.  The subject then picks the package back up and walks back to his vehicle.  Shortly after the same subject returns the Amazon package to the porch and leaves.  It was unclear on the footage a detailed description of the vehicle.

 

EAST TOWNSHIPS

 

12/22   Location:  23000 block of S. Jonathan Lane                                      Crete

            Summary:  Victim stated that a male/black, wearing red shorts and a white shirt, approximately 50 years of age, was observed ripping the gate open to the entrance to his driveway.  The subject was illegally inside the gate with his light green, 2010 Ford Escort/Focus.  The gate had been opened for residents of the homes to enter and was closed while the subject was unknowingly inside.  The subject was able to drive away through the damaged half of the driveway gate.

 

12/23   Location:  24000 block of S. Home Avenue                                      Monee

            Summary:  Kelly G. Rowan, age 47, of 24028 E. Home Avenue in Monee was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and was held on an active Batavia Police warrant.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown damaged a Cadillac by using unknown objects to scratch and dent the vehicle.

12/21   Location:  14000 block of S. Sea Biscuit Court

            Summary:  Person/s unknown slashed two tires of a Chevy Tahoe that was legally parked on the street.

 

            Location:  16000 block of S. Windsor Court

            Summary:  Deputies were dispatched to a residence around 11:45am regarding a suspicious male walking around a residence and making entry into a vehicle.  Nothing was stolen from the vehicle.  The subject was observed arriving in a newer model BMW SUV.   While deputies were on scene they were advised that another call had come in from Lockport stating that two unknown male blacks, in a similar described vehicle, were stealing packages and going through vehicles. (See Lockport/1300 block of Highland Avenue above)    The vehicle license plate was obtained and had been reported stolen.

 

12/23   Location:  12000 block of W. 159^th St.

            Summary:  James Mazzocco, age 60, of 17144 Drexel Avenue in South Holland was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and was held on an active Lansing Police warrant.

 

12/26   Location:  14012 W. 159^th St.

            Summary:  Sometime within the past two weeks, person/s unknown cut the catalytic converter from a company work truck.

12/22   Location:  N. Center and W. Coal City Road                                    Reed

            Summary:  Brandi J. Starr, age 36, of 1466 N. Center St. in Braidwood was cited for speeding and driving while license suspended.

 

12/24   Location:  S. Rt. 53 and W. Noel Road                                              Jackson

            Summary:  Jose Polito-Toto, age 28, of 600 Herkimer Road in Joliet was arrested for DUI, improper lane usage, speeding, and illegal transportation of alcohol.

 

 

12/27   Location:  23210 W. Stripmine Road            Dockside Marine                     Wilmington

            Summary:  Victim stated that upon arriving at the business he observed the overhead door to the storage building half open and discovered one UTV and two four wheelers were stolen.  Upon reviewing video footage, it was discovered that on 12/25 around 2:40am, two white/males jumped over the front gate and stole the UTV.  On 12/27, around 3am the same two white male subjects returned to the business and stole the two Can-Am four wheelers.
