1/31     Location:  E. Washington and Davison St.

            Summary:  Jorge Leon Lopez, age 36, of Joliet was cited for driving while license revoked, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and speeding.

 

2/1       Location:  Ridgewood Avenue and Walnut

            Summary:  Sanino Garduno, age 50, of Plainfield was cited for driving while license revoked and expired registration.

 

            Location:  316 N. Bluff Street

            Summary:  Cornell A. Cunningham, age 33, of this address, was taken into custody by Sheriff’s Fugitive Warrants Unit and members of the US Marshalls Task Force.  Cunningham had outstanding warrants for armed habitual criminal, unlawful use of a weapon by a felon x2 and armed violence.  The Sheriff’s Office Units made entry into the apartment and Cunningham surrendered without incident.  A handgun was observed on top of a dresser in plain view.  In addition to the charges on the warrant, Cunningham was charged with felony possession of a weapon and armed habitual criminal.

            Summary:  David Cabrera, age 22, of Joliet was cited for driving while license suspended.

            Summary:  Thomas Corse, age 31, of Midlothian was cited for driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle ad improper display of registration.

            Summary:  Rahshawn Ulmer Woods, age 24, of Joliet was cited for aggravated speeding, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, driving while license suspended and suspended registration.

            Summary:  Shawn Matthews, age 51, of Joliet was cited for driving while license revoked.

            Summary:  Alyssa McGilvery, age 35, of 23936 S. Ashland Avenue in Crete was charged with aggravated battery.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered a vehicle and stole a 9mm Smith and Wesson firearm.

            Summary:  Denziel Banks, age 26, of Chicago was charged with two counts of aggravated battery after he threw urine on a doctor and a correctional officer.

 

            Location:  Arizona Avenue and E. Washington

            Summary:  Jose Gamino-Valdiva, age 46, of 815 Second Avenue in Joliet was arrested for DUI, improper lane usage and disobeying a traffic control device.

 

SOUTH TOWNSHIPS

 

1/31     Location:  23962 W. Stripmine Road            Snookers Bar and Grill                       Wilmington

            Summary:  Around 9pm, Sheriff’s deputies were called to the establishment regarding shots fired.  They were advised that the subject had left the area in a black Jeep heading into Wilmington.  Upon arrival deputies spoke with witnesses who stated that the offender was a man who was no longer allowed inside the establishment due to past incidents.  Upon seeing the man’s vehicle enter the parking lot and exit his vehicle. A patron went outside and yelled to the subject to leave.  The subject then reentered his vehicle and showed the patron that he had a gun.  While driving away the subject shot 3 to 6 times.  The patron believed the first shot may have been aimed at him.  No one was injured.   Under investigation.

            Summary:  Elijah Scroggins, age 34, of Kankakee was cited for aggravated speeding and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

            Summary:  Nicole Talley, age 28, of 507 Baltimore St. in Wilmington was arrested for DUI, no valid driver’s license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

            Summary:  Cynthia Finger, age 65, of 13135 Sparrow Court in Homer Glen was arrested for DUI and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown shattered the front door glass of the business and threw various items throughout the store.  At time of report, it was unclear what was stolen.

            Summary:  Alyssa McGilvery, age 35, of this address, was arrested for domestic battery, resisting a peace officer and two counts of aggravated battery.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown cut a lock chain on a gate to gain entry onto the property.  Offenders then stole a 2017 Dodge Ram 3500 and also broke into a storage container.  At time of report, it was unclear if anything was stolen from the container.

1/17     Location:  100 W. Jefferson                           Will County Courthouse

            Summary:  In the morning hours deputies were made aware of criminal defacement to the Will County Courthouse.  Upon checking the building, they discovered that person/s unknown had used a red substance to write “No Justice in Will County” on the ramp wall near the wheelchair entrance and a circled 5-point star near the corner of the building.  Deputies also observed “No Justice in Will County” written on the old courthouse located across the street at 14 W. Jefferson Street.  Video footage showed a female, white, wearing a face mask.  After evidence was collected at the scene and an investigation was completed, it led to the identification of Mary Moscardini, age 39, of 2811 Somme Street in Joliet.  She was arrested for two counts of criminal defacement of property and two counts of criminal damage to government property.

            Summary:  Juan Salinas Huaxtitla, age 29, of Joliet was cited for no valid driver’s license, improper lane usage and failure to yield to emergency vehicles.

            Summary:  Isabel Ocon, age 34, of Plainfield was arrested for battery.

            Summary:  Karina Mariano, age 29, of this address was arrested for battery.

 

            Location:  3003 State Street                           United Collision and Customs

            Summary:  A passerby called deputies to report that they observed two dark colored vehicles near the garage of the business, a subject with a ski mask on, and the alarms were activated.   Video footage revealed two vehicles pull into the business at 2:44am, five offenders exit one vehicle, and one offender exited the second vehicle.  The offenders forced the garage door open by lifting it and grabbed several key fobs.  The offenders then attempted to locate, unlock, and start vehicles.  The alarms then activated, and the offenders took off in their vehicles.

            Summary:  Victim stated that he was outside working when he was approached by two unknown Hispanic men, about 30 years of age.  They began talking about various odd jobs on his property that needed to be done.  Victim led one of the men to the backyard and after talking for awhile the victim declined his services.  When the victim and subject returned to the front, the second subject was inside the vehicle and they both left.  Later he found two credit cards had been stolen from his bedroom.  Both cards were expired.  Nothing else appeared to be missing.

            Summary:  Gavyn Hyde, age 23, of Chicago was cited for suspended registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

 

1/20     Location:  20000 block of W. Snowberry                  Plainfield

            Summary:  Victim was contacted by who she thought was the security office of her bank.  The caller informed her that her debit card was being used fraudulently at Costco for $1,000.  Victim provided bank information to the caller and then discovered a $12,000 withdrawal.  Victim stated that her caller ID that the fraudulent caller used was the correct customer care number associated with her bank.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a 2018 Club golf cart from the driveway of a residence.  The offender drove the cart down the road and loaded it onto a truck/trailer.

 

            Location:  7200 block of W. Ethan Court                              Monee

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered a driveway and stole a 2016 Black Force trailer.  This trailer is believed to be the same trailer used to haul the stolen golf cart in the incident reported above on S. Green Castle Drive.

            Summary:  Justin Collier, age 24, of Matteson was cited for driving while license suspended and suspended registration.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole the catalytic converter from a 2003 Ford Ranger.

 

            Location:  24000 block of S. Scheer Road                             Monee

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a 2008 Chevy Silverado from the driveway of a residence.  The keys had been left in the ignition at time of theft.

 

1/13     Location:  Sycamore and S. Western                                     Crete

            Summary:  Christopher Worsham, age 51, of University Park was cited for no rear registration lights, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and driving while license suspended.

 

FRANKFORT AND NEW LENOX

 

1/10     Location:  W. Benton and W. Braemar Lane                         Frankfort

            Summary:  Tyler Wellever, age 29, of Hazel Crest was cited for driving with suspended registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

 

1/13     Location:  W. 187^th St. and Haas Road                                  Mokena

            Summary:  Lindsey Reimer, age 30, of New Lenox was cited for aggravated speeding.

 

            Location:  1800 block of Wallington Lane                            New Lenox

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole all four tire rim caps and lug nuts from a Ford F-350.  The vehicle was observed with four landscaping bricks and a vehicle jack alongside the truck.  It appeared that the offender/s were attempting to steal the tires but were unable to due to the vehicle jack not able to reach the frame.

 

WEST TOWNSHIPS

 

1/10     Location:  22000 block of W. Natchez Court                        Plainfield

            Summary:  Around 10:44pm, Deputies were dispatched to the area of Niagara Trail and Natchez Circle after multiple calls were generated to the 911 dispatch center for shots fired.  Deputies began a quick check of the area for evidence and began to interview witnesses.  One witness stated that they observed a male subject flee toward S. Napa Circle.  An article of clothing was found in that area and a K9 track was conducted that led deputies through various portions of Lakewood Falls subdivision.  The K9 displayed interest on Napa Circle.

   A second witness stated that they heard at least two shots fired and observed a white Dodge Dart.  The witness believed to have seen a female running on Natchez and then enter the vehicle.

   A few other witnesses stated that they heard two to three shots, observed a light skinned or Hispanic female on foot in the area.  Also observed after shots were heard was two male subjects in a physical altercation.  One fled on foot, the other male and the observed female entered a white vehicle and fled the scene.  

   This incident is under investigation.

            Summary:    Person/s unknown entered an unlocked Chevy work van and stole several electric tools, saws, hand tools, and tool batteries.

1/10     Location:  1100 block of Highland Avenue

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke into a residence and ransacked it.  It was not determined what was stolen at time of report.

1/12     Location:  W. 151^st and S. Allison

            Summary:  Mohammed Yousef, age 29, of Homer Glen was cited for aggravated speeding.

 

1/13     Location:  14556 S. Coachman Lane

            Summary:  Christopher Mroz, age 37, of this address, was arrested for DUI, improper lane usage, and disobeying a stop sign.

            Summary:  A victim reported to deputies that she received an email from McAfee Anti-virus which stated that they would be signing her up for the virus protection with a $485 auto payment.  The victim opened the email and called the provided phone number.  The man on the phone gave directions to the victim how to cancel the payment.  The victim allowed the man to remote into her computer.  Throughout the conversation, and transactions that were made, the victim was scammed of over $15,000.

            Summary:  Chaitanya Enugurthi, age 24, of 105 S. Highpoint Drive in Romeoville was arrested for DUI, improper lighting, and speeding.

 

            Location:  S. Briggs and I80

            Summary:  John Keough, age 22, of Joliet was cited for driving with suspended registration.

 

            Location:  W. Oak and S. Briggs

            Summary:  Deputies were dispatched to Silver Cross Hospital around 7:30pm for a gunshot victim.  Joliet Police had arrived on the scene prior to deputies’ arrival and spoke with a 22-year-old male who stated that he had driven to the area of W. Oak and Briggs in order to meet a person he had met on Instagram.  Upon stopping his vehicle in the area, he was approached by two male blacks who entered his vehicle and asked for his belongings and money.  The victim gave the unknown offender/s his phone but stated he had no money.  The victim was then shot by one of the offenders in the lower back. 

Silver Cross medical staff advised deputies that the victim would be transported to Loyola Hospital for further treatment.    Under investigation.

            Summary:  Susan Reynolds, age 58, of New Lenox was cited for driving while license revoked.

 

1/12     Location:  626 Oakview Avenue

            Summary:  Owners of Joliet Tent Company stated that person/s unknown came onto their property and stole four catalytic converters from four vehicles.  Also observed at the scene was two catalytic converters on the ground in front of two other company vehicles that were left behind by the offender/s.

 

            Location:  E. Washington and SW Circle Drive

            Summary:  Kabrena Steele, age 30, of Joliet was cited for no valid driver’s license, suspended registration, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

 

            Location:  95 S. Chicago St.                           Adult Detention Facility

            Summary:  Martell Perkins, Sr., age 37, of 334 S. Ottawa in Joliet was charged with aggravated battery to a correctional officer.

 

1/13     Location:  100 block of Teeway St.

            Summary:  Victim stated that three unknown Hispanic male subjects arrived at his home and asked to inspect the electrical box on the power lines in his back yard.  The victim allowed all three men into his home and followed one of the males outside to the backyard.  When the subjects left the residence, the victim discovered diamond earrings missing and other jewelry.

            Summary:  John Morrisitte, age 46, of Chicago was cited for operating vehicle without registration and driving while license suspended.

 

1/16     Location:  Ohio St. and Scott St.

            Summary:  Eysner Huerta Torrez, age 32, of Joliet was cited for no valid driver’s license and improper lighting.

            Summary:  Bertha Juarez-Olaj, age 35, of Joliet was cited for expired registration, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and no valid driver’s license.

            Summary:  Michael Southcombe, age 43, of 3615 N. Dwight Road in Morris was arrested for obstructing identification and possession of drug equipment.  He was also held on an active Will County FTA warrant.

            Summary:  Around 3:15am an alarm was activated at the business.  Upon arrival, deputies located a rock that had been used to shatter the front glass door or the business.  Nothing was stolen from inside.

            Summary:  Dovydas Razma, age 33, of Plainfield was cited for too fast for conditions, failure to give information after accident, failure to report accident and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

            Summary:  An unknown male driving a dark colored pickup truck with a spotlight and no license plates was observed on video surveillance stealing 8 strands of copper wiring from the front of the business.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown moved two vehicles off the driveway, into the front yard of the residence, broke into the garage, and stole a 1998 Chevy Corvette.   Offenders also stole two garage door remote controls.
