The Court Services / Special Projects Bureau oversees Civil Process and Court Services. The Will County Sheriff’s Office Civil Division serves over 22,000 items of process annually. These items include subpoenas from the Will County State’s Attorney, summons for law suits, quasi criminal summons from villages and counties throughout the United States. This bureau also handles security for the Courthouse, Court Annex Building, River Valley Juvenile Justice Center and the outer court branches.
Prior to delivering the Tax Notices to our office, you must provide us with the breakdown of the parties that you will need served. Indicate on each service whether it is personal service or certified mail. You may fax the list to our office (815) 727-8565 in advance. Please allow approximately 1 to 2 business days for us to total the dollar ($) amount needed for service.
The following foreclosure cases have Surplus Funds Held by the Sheriff’s Office until further Order of the Court. This also includes Unknown Heirs and Legatees. If your name is not on the list and you think that you might have money left over from a foreclosure, please contact the Civil Process Office at 815.727.8895 Monday thru Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.
The following fee schedule represents only one service for one case number at a specified address. If more than one service is needed, the full fee will be added for each additional individual to be served. "Occupant", "Any & All Unknown Occupants", etc. are also considered an additional service.
Alias summons papers previously sent to this office for service ( same address/name/case ) will cost $5.00 each.
Certified mailings are $16.00 as of 12-16-2013.
There will be a $21.00 fee to process a foreclosure deed as soon as possible.
Our work load does not permit short date papers; therefore, ten ( 10 ) working days are required to provide a proper effort for service, return and processing of your paper.

Execution Judgment Fees
For every inventory taken, there will be an additional fee of $87.00 charged, which will be collected prior to proceeding with the enforcement of the Judgment.
False Alarm Ordinance

Effective April 21, 2014 the Will County Sheriff’s Office has implemented a new card system in which the Attorney will have to swipe their issued Attorney Card to be admitted to the court house with out having to go through security. The application can no longer be submitted on-line. Cards issued between January 1, 2014 and April 17, 2014 are in the process of being entered into the new system. Anyone with a card issued prior to January 1, 2014 will have to get a new card free of charge; however, the expiration date will remain the same.
Attorneys licensed to practice in the State of Illinois may apply and purchase an Attorney Security Pass through the Will County Sheriff's Office. The Attorney Security Pass will allow approved attorneys access to enter the Will County Courthouse via a separate entrance.
Passes are valid for one year from the month of purchase.
