7/19 Location: 7200 block of W. Lincoln Highway Frankfort
Summary: Johnny r. Gomez-Aguilar, age 26, of Chicago Heights was cited for no valid driver’s license, suspended registration, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
7/21 Location: 19730 S. Harlem Speedway Frankfort
Summary: About noon, Sheriff’s deputies were called for an armed robbery. The employee stated that a male black with a ski mask entered the store and instructed the employee to open the register. The offender stated, “I know you see this gun in my pocket”. The employee opened the register and handed over the money. Deputies were able to view video footage to view the incident and gather information on the offender. The employee was not injured. A minimal amount of cash was in the register at time of robbery.
7/23 Location: 7500 block of W. Inverness Lane Frankfort
Summary: Person/s unknown entered an unlocked truck and removed an IPad.
Location: 7400 block of W. Inverness Lane Frankfort
Summary: Person/s unknown entered an unlocked SUV and stole a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses.
Location: 19730 S. Harlem Speedway Frankfort
Summary: At 10:48am, deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle call from an employee. Employee stated that the vehicle was occupied by two male black subjects, both wearing ski masks, and believed they may have been the same two subjects who had robbed the store in the recent past. Prior to deputies’ arrival, they were advised that an off-duty deputy had just witnessed two subjects in the same area attempting to commit a robbery of a residence, however nothing came of it due to the deputy pulling up near the residence.
Once at the store deputies observed the suspicious Mitsubishi Galant parked at a gas pump and pulled up to it. The off-duty deputy also arrived and pulled his personal vehicle behind the Galant to box-in the suspect’s vehicle. The suspects were still wearing their masks. The Galant driver then quickly began to shift his vehicle forward and back bumping into the other vehicles. The subjects were then able to drive off at a high rate of speed.
Sheriff’s deputies and Frankfort Police were in pursuit of the vehicle that eventually crashed on Lincoln Highway and Harlem Avenue. The two subjects fled on foot and were caught by officers. While deputies searched the trail the subjects had run through, two Glock handguns were located. The offenders were taken into custody and transported to Will County Investigations Unit.
Michael E. Smith, age 20, of 21 Denise Court in Matteson was arrested for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, obstructing justice, obstructing identification, and was also held for an active warrant out of Cook County. The other offender is a 17-year-old and was transported to River Valley Juvenile Detention Center. He was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, aggravated fleeing/eluding, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, no valid driver’s license, no valid registration, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and driving on the wrong side of the road.
WEST TOWNSHIPS
7/19 Location: S. Wallin and W. 143rd St. Plainfield
Summary: Luis Costilla, age 34, of Joliet was cited for driving while license suspended, operation vehicle with suspended registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
7/20 Location: 16000 block of S. Lily Cache Road Plainfield
Summary: Emoni McDonald, age 24, of Lockport was charged with obstructing justice, obstructing identification, resisting a peace officer, and was held on an active warrant.
Location: 21000 block of W. Franklin Court Plainfield
Summary: Two unknown male subjects attempted to steal a 2022 Hyundai Sonata from the driveway of a residence. The offenders dismantled the steering column and ignition. A neighbor was leaving their house when she startled the offenders who ran to a backyard and jumped a fence.
Location: 13000 block of S. Edgewater Court Plainfield
Summary: Deputies were called at 9:48am in reference to an attempted stolen vehicle. Upon arrival deputies observed a Kia Optima, with the engine running, with the gear shift in reverse, stationed in front of a Dodge Caravan. Deputies observed the steering column and ignition to be removed, exposing all internal components. It is believed that offender/s attempted to steal the vehicle however they were unsuccessful in getting the Kia around the Caravan to drive it away.
Location: 13000 block of S. Edgewater Court Plainfield
Summary: Deputies were called at 10:27am in reference to person/s unknown entering an unlocked vehicle. Deputies observed the vehicle with the center console and glove box to have been rummaged through. It did not appear anything was stolen.
Location: 20000 block of W. Aspen Court Plainfield
Summary: Deputies responded to a burglarized vehicle call. Victim stated that she was unsure if she had locked her doors the previous night however person/s unknown entered her vehicle and rummaged through the glovebox. A wallet was stolen containing cash, identifying cards, and credit cards.
Location: 14000 block of S. Idaho Court Plainfield
Summary: Victim stated that two of her unlocked vehicles had been entered by person/s unknown. Victim found some items from one of the vehicles on the ground outside the car. Nothing was stolen. The second vehicle was entered and a wallet with cash, driver’s license, and credit cards was stolen.
Location: 13000 block of S. Edgewater Court Plainfield
Summary: Victim stated person/s unknown entered her Hyundai Tucson and pried off the console surrounding the ignition to steal the vehicle. No items were stolen from the vehicle.
Location: 21000 block of W. Ivanhoe Trail Plainfield
Summary: Person/s unknown stole a 2017 Hyundai Elantra that was parked on the street in front of a residence. A neighbor advised that at around 5:30am, while they were inside their home, they heard the vehicle start up and drive away but believed at the time it was just the owner leaving to go somewhere.

7/18 Location: University Parkway and Blackhawk Drive Crete
Summary: Christopher Rivers, age 22, of University Park was cited for driving while license suspended, expired registration, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
Location: Union Drive and Hickok Avenue Crete
Summary: Brian M. Harris, age 37, of Country Club Hills was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle after deputies observed an alert on the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The vehicle was reported stolen out of Orland Park and was a rental vehicle that had not been returned.
7/21 Location: 10000 block of W. Wilmington-Peotone Rd. Peotone
Summary: Person/s unknown stole a 2016 GMC C/K 2500 from a driveway. Offender/s also broke into a garage and a pole barn and stole two purses with credit cards inside, cash, sunglasses, and other belongings. The purses were located inside the homeowner’s other vehicles.
7/22 Location: 600 block of W. New Monee Road Crete
Summary: Employee of Luffman & Byers, a fiberoptic locating company, stated that he had placed a locator box on the 600 block of W. New Monee Road and then drove west to a second location a few miles away. While he was at the second location, he received a signal from the first locator box alerting him that it was out of range. The employee drove back to the 600 block and realized someone had stolen it.
HOMER GLEN
7/19 Location: 12640 W. 143rd St. White Castle
Summary: Assistant Manager stated that person/s unknown entered the store while it was closed. Offender/s entered the office area and stole money from the cash tills and damaged the computer equipment that is used to view surveillance footage.
7/20 Location: 15000 block of S. James Lane
Summary: Person/s unknown smashed a concrete landscaping planter in the front lawn of a residence. Video surveillance revealed an unknown white sedan, with a female driver, pull up and allow two male white teenagers to exit the vehicle. The teenagers ran into the yard and smashed the planter.

Summary: Malak Hasan, age 26, of Homer Glen was cited for aggravated speeding.
7/22 Location: W. 151st Street and S. Wingate Drive
Summary: Jacob Alfarah, age 25, of Orland Park was cited for aggravated speeding.
Location: S. Gougar Road and W. 159th St.
Summary: Karen Foster, age 58, of Lockport was cited for aggravated speeding.
7/24 Location: 16000 block of S. Pine Hill Drive
Summary: A residence that is under construction was discovered to be damage by person/s unknown. The damage included the kitchen faucet to be bent and broken, along with two of the bathroom faucets. A bathroom cabinet was also found to be cracked.
Location: 14815 S. Gougar Road Green Garden Landscaping
Summary: Person/s unknown broke into a shed and stole all the keys for the equipment. Offender/s also damage a window air conditioner and stole a cordless drill set, an angle grinder, and two leaf blowers.

7/19 Location: S. Chicago and 3rd Avenue
Summary: Scott Johnson, age 52, of Joliet was cited for driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, expired registration, improper passing, and was held on a active FTA Will County warrant.

Summary: Marquise Smith, age 49, of Harvey was cited for driving while license revoked and operating vehicle with suspended registration.
Location: Henderson and E. Benton
Summary: Yajayra Aguila Diaz, age 35, of Joliet was cited for no valid license, failure to signal and improper lane usage.
7/20 Location: E. Cass and McRoberts St.
Summary: Stefany Ayala Contreras, age 25, of Joliet was cited for no valid license, operating vehicle with suspended registration, failure to secure child in seatbelt and no driver seat belt.
Location: Doris Avenue and S. Chicago St.
Summary: Carlos Martinez, age 55, of Joliet was charged with driving while license revoked, aggravated driving while license revoked, driving in wrong lane, and disobeying a lane control signal.
Location: S. Chicago and McDonough St.
Summary: Kim Pruitte, age 61, of Joliet was cited for driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and improper lighting.
7/21 Location: Berkley Avenue
Summary: Erik Solner, age 48, of 9 Berkley Avenue in Joliet was arrested for DUI, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and parking violation.
Location: Cassie Drive
Summary: Victim stated that while attempting to sell her antique car online she was contact by a subject via email who stated he was interested in purchasing it for $7,000. On 7/11 and 7/14 she received identical checks for the total amount of over $11,000. The checks were sent via UPS from an address in Streator. Victim stated that she then received an email stating that she needed to deposit the check, keep the $7,000 for the purchase, and they would be sending someone to transport the vehicle. Victim was advised to send four bank transactions for $1,000 each to an address in Spartanburg, SC. Victim went to her bank to deposit the checks and was informed that the two checks were fraudulent. She attempted to contact the subject but was unsuccessful.

7/22 Location: Scott St. and E. Liberty St.
Summary: Juan Guillen Murillo, age 29, of Joliet was cited for improper lane usage and no valid driver’s license.
7/23 Location: 95 S. Chicago St. Adult Detention Facility
Summary: Deshaun M. Cockream, age 24, of 309 Woodcreek Drive in Bolingbrook was charged four different times throughout this day for aggravated battery to a correctional officer. A total of six counts were charged.
Location: Essington and Oakwood Drive
Summary: Zachary Kocoj, age 34, of 1307 Green Trails Drive in Plainfield was arrested for DUI and improper lane usage.
Location: Manhattan and W. Laraway Road
Summary: Melvin Ayala, age 19, oof 408 James Place in Goshen, IN was arrested for DUI, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and driving off roadway.
7/24 Location: S. Briggs and Mabel Avenue
Summary: Norris D. Bridges, age 52, of Joliet was cited for driving while license suspended, operating vehicle with no insurance, driving with suspended registration, driving with expired license plate, and failure to secure new registration. Bridges also had an FTA warrant out of Grundy County for traffic violations.

Summary: Matthew Cole Nero, age 37, of Joliet was arrested for aggravated domestic battery, unlawful restraint, and interference with reporting of domestic violence.
Location: 95 S. Chicago St. Adult Detention Facility
Summary: Deshaun Cockream, age 24, of 309 Woodcreek Drive in Bolingbrook was charged with aggravated battery to a correctional officer.
