5/31 Location: 25000 block of W. 119th St. Plainfield
Summary: Resident stated that she received an email from Geek squad for a bill that she owed. The resident believed the email because she had used Geek squad services in the past. She called the number on the email and spoke to a person who identified himself as an employee of Geek squad. The employee asked for the residents IP address from her computer and took control of her computer remotely. The fraudulent employee connected to the residents’ bank account. The resident then became suspicious and called police. It was later determined that the fraudulent Geek squad employee had withdrawn $1,000 from her account.

Summary: Person/s unknown stole several pieces of costume and fine jewelry. The victim reported that she was unsure when the theft actually occurred however; the only people in her home were a home health care worker and a few contractors who had performed repairs in the home.
6/1 Location: 12425 S. Rhea Drive Drive Precision Diagnostics Plainfield
Summary: An unknown male of medium build with a black goatee and short black hair was observed on video surveillance breaking the front door window in order to gain entry into the business. Once inside the offender stole multiple vehicle keys and $200. The offender was also observed stealing a 2015 Chevy Tahoe that was at the business to be repaired.
Location: 600 block of Book Road Wheatland
Summary: Victim stated that he mailed a personal check for $375 to a repair person company that had performed work at his residence. Two weeks later, he received an email from the company stating that the invoice had not been paid. The victim contacted his bank and discovered that the check had been cashed for $9,000. The check had been altered to an unknown person.

Summary: Thomas A. Kuzmicki, age 69, of 19262 W. John Kirkham Drive in Romeoville was arrested for criminal damage to property.

5/30 Location: S. Rt. 53 and W. Manhattan Road Jackson
Summary: Maurice Hare, age 34, of Elwood, was cited for aggravated speeding.
6/2 Location: 12000 block of W. Bruns Road Manhattan
Summary: Person/s unknown broke into a residence and stole cash, a wedding rings, and Apple ear pods.
6/3 Location: 24000 block of S. Walnut St. Jackson
Summary: Denziel Banks, age 25, of 6010 Industrial Drive in Monee was arrested for possession of a stolen motor vehicle, obstruction of identification.

Summary: Alex Alberto Ortiz, age 29, of 2468 W. Downer Place in Aurora was cited for overweight truck and driving while license suspended.
EAST TOWNSHIPS
5/30 Location: 1900 block of E. Indiana Avenue Washington
Summary: Person/s unknown broke into a residence and stole $240, a credit card, and medications. Upon closing the credit card account, the victim discovered that person/s unknown had attempted to order a TV and have it shipped to an address in North Carolina.
6/1 Location: W. Wilmington-Peotone Road and S. 104th Avenue Peotone
Summary: Olivia L. Porter, age 21, of Chesterton, IN lost her life after she was involved in a motor vehicle accident.
Location: 3400 block of W. University Parkway Crete
Summary: Person/s unknown stole a 2022 Audi out of a business parking lot. Victim stated that he received an alert on his phone from his credit card app that advised a large purchase was being made from Walmart. Knowing that he did not make the purchase, and that his credit card was located in his vehicle, he went outside and discovered his vehicle had been stolen. Upon review of video, it was observed that at 11:03am an unknown male black exited a silver Mercedes, entered his Audi, and drove away. The victim stated that he had left his vehicle unlocked with the keys inside.
6/6 Location: 2200 block of W. Exchange Crete
Summary: Resident stated that she received a phone call from an unknown male who stated that he was her grandson and that he was on his way to a wedding and got into an accident. The person stated that he needed money. The resident immediately became suspicious and began asking questions regarding their family. At that time, the fraudulent person ended the phone call. The resident stated to deputies that she immediately became suspicious because one year prior the same scam had happened where she believed the caller and sent money before she discovered it was a scam.

6/3 Location: 1300 block of S. Schoolhouse Road New Lenox
Summary: Lee E. White, Jr., age 42, of 18500 Marycrest Drive in Country Club Hills was arrested for aggravated battery, and aggravated battery use of a weapon.

Summary: Person/s unknown broke into a residence and stole a laptop and miscellaneous pieces of jewelry.

Summary: Joseph D. Hall, age 51 of 106 W. Oak Avenue in Lockport was cited for aggravated speeding, driving with suspended registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

Summary: Person/s unknown stole a 1981 Honda CR 125 dirt bike from the backyard of a residence.
6/1 Location: S. Briggs and 4th Avenue
Summary: Hugo Amaro, age 30, of 312 Algonquin St. in Joliet was cited for speeding, no valid license, expired registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
Location: 2400 block of Mayfair Drive
Summary: Deputies located ten shell casings in the area after they responded to a shots fired call. No one was reported injured.
6/2 Location: 1400 block of E. Cass St.
Summary: Daniel Garcia, age 45, Alejandro Garcia, age 24, and Analilia Garcia, age 44, all of 2000 Arden Place in Joliet were arrested for aggravated battery.
6/4 Location: 900 block of Rowell Avenue
Summary: Connie L. Barnett, age 45, of 821 Harlow Avenue in Joliet was cited for dogs at large.

Summary: Jonathan Lester, age 35, of 30 Wilson St. in Joliet was arrested for three counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and was held on two outstanding Joliet Police warrants for aggravated assault.
6/5 Location: 2400 block of Emlong St.
Summary: Person/s unknown broke into a residence and stole an AR Platform 7mm-08 caliber gun, an AR 15 556mm caliber gun, a replica 1851 navy cap and ball revolver, $1,000 cash, a gold necklace, a 45 handgun, receipts for all the firearms and gift cards.
HOMER GLEN
5/31 Location: 15112 S. Bell Road The Creamery Iron Horse
Summary: About 7:45am, Sheriff’s deputies were flagged down by a male subject who stated that his business had been burglarized sometime during the night. Person/s unknown used a pry tool and breached the drive-thru window. Cash was stolen. Video surveillance discovered an unknown male subject wearing all black entered the restaurant around 1am thru the drive-thru window. That subject then let another subject into the store through an exterior door.

Summary: Cesar Javier, age 27, of Chicago was cited for no valid license and speeding.
6/4 Location: S. Gougar Road and W. 159th St.
Summary: Jared D. Harris, age 26, of 15437 S. Weather Vane Lane in Homer Glen was cited for aggravated speeding.

Summary: Ayat West, age 27, of Palos Park was cited for driving while license suspended and aggravated speeding.

Summary: Armando Minasola, age 36, of 1058 Georgian Place in Bartlett was arrested for speeding, improper display of registration, transportation of open alcohol, DUI, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
6/6 Location: 14115 S. Bell Road Wendy’s
Summary: General Manager stated that person/s unknown had broken into the business during the overnight hours. Garbage cans were found tipped over inside the restaurant and the drive thru window had been breached. Video surveillance observed an unknown subject enter the business by forcibly pushing the window open. The subject then allowed a second subject to enter through a back door. Offenders gained entry into the GM’s office. Nothing was stolen.
Location: 12412 W. 143rd St. Culver’s
Summary: General Manager stated that when he arrived at work at 7am he observed the drive thru window to be broken out. A pry tool had been used to gain access to the business. Video footage revealed that at 1:18am two unknown person/s dressed in black with gloves arrived at the business. One subject entered thru the window and then allowed the second subject to enter through a back door. The subjects attempted to break into a safe but they were unsuccessful. One subject then struck a computer with the pry tool causing the screen to shatter.
Location: 14135 S. Bell Road Dunkin Donuts
Summary: While conducting a business check around 3am, deputies observed the drive thru window had been pushed in. Upon the arrival of an employee, it was discovered that a coffee mug had been broken on the floor and the manager’s office had been ransacked with papers, gift cards, computers and a copy machine thrown about the office. A small amount of cash was stolen.
