4/15     Location:  12000 block of W. Warren Drive                          Frankfort

            Summary:  Person/s unknown slashed four tires and scratched offensive words on a vehicle parked in a driveway.

 

WEST TOWNSHIPS

4/15     Location:  1100 block of N. Independence Blvd.                  DuPage

            Summary:  An unknown male Hispanic, approximately 40 years old, pulled into a driveway.  The homeowner went outside and asked him what he needed.  The man said he was looking for a car that he had seen in the area for sale. The homeowner said she found it suspicious because on 4/6/20 she had seen the Jeep Grand Cherokee with temporary registration in the area and had observed the man inside to be soliciting in the neighborhood.

 

HOMER GLEN

4/14     Location:  14169 S. Bell Road                       Meijer

            Summary:  Person/s unknown cut the lock off the air vacuum machine at the gas station and stole the quarters from inside. Employee stated that there has been numerous similar thefts at different Meijer locations in the area.

 

4/16     Location:  15707 W. 151^st Street                    Dog park                    

            Summary:  Victim stated that she arrived at the dog park about 2:15pm to allow her dog to run.  When she returned to her vehicle about 45 minutes later she found her driver’s side window broken out and her purse that was on the seat had been stolen.

            Summary:  Julian Durden, age 25, of 505 Concord Court in Chicago Heights was arrested for felony theft.

4/15   Location:  24000 S. Western Avenue                           Crete

          Summary:  Person/s unknown stole four tires from a semi-trailer.

4/15     Location:  100 block of W. Oak Avenue

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke into a residence and stole a safe containing a firearm, birth certificate, a gold necklace and SS card.

 

4/16     Location:  15537 S. Weber Road                               Northwest Cedar Fencing

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a 2001 Ford F-350 that was locked and parked in the parking lot overnight.

4/10 Location:  17000 block of S. Crystal Lake Drive Frankfort

Summary:  Person/s unknown stole about $1,000 worth of nail salon supplies from a clubhouse that was located in a backyard.  Offender/s also stole a wallet, phone charger from an unlocked vehicle in the driveway.

 

4/11 Location:  1500 block of Illini Dr. New Lenox

Summary:  Kevin Youngsma, age 38, of 2852 Cherry Hill road in Joliet was arrested for failure to reduce speed, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, driving while license suspended, illegal transportation of alcohol and DUI.

 

EAST TOWNSHIPS

 

4/10 Location:  25000 and 26000 block of S. 104th Avenue Monee

Summary:  Three unknown subjects were observed attempting to get into unlocked vehicles.  One victim reported that her purse was stolen and her vehicle was unlocked.  Another witness reported that she observed the subjects attempt to get into her vehicle but the doors were locked.  

 

4/11 Location:  26000 block of S. Green Castle Drive Monee

Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a Louis Vuitton purse and costume jewelry.

4/8 Location:  1701 Elgin Avenue

Summary:  Carolina Rivera, age 24, of this address, was arrested for battery and resisting a peace officer.

 

4/10 Location:  2400 block of Von Esch

Summary:  T-Mobile employee reported that person/s unknown entered a cell tower property and cut and stole copper ground wiring.

 

4/12 Location:  Richards and Colburn

Summary:  Jerome Handy, Jr., age 27, of 725 Richards St. in Joliet was arrested for aggravated battery.

4/7 Location:  13000 block of W. Chicago-Bloomington trail

Summary:  Cain Woodrum, age 24, of 13734 W. Deervalley Drive in Homer Glen was arrested for DUI/drugs, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, leaving the scene of an accifent ad failure to report accident.

 

Location:  S. Gougar and W. 151st St.

Summary:  Christian Palomares, age 20, of 1222 Highland in Lockport was arrested for aggravated battery to a police officer and illegal consumption of alcohol.

 

4/9 Location:  14298 S. Bell Road McDonalds

Summary:  Employee stated while coming into work she discovered that person/s unknown had broken into the restaurant.  Upon reviewing video surveillance, two unknown subjects were seen coming in through the drive-in window with a pry bar.  Nothing of value was taken.

 

4/10 Location:  W. 135th St. and S. Archer Avenue

Summary:  Christopher Edenburn, age 51, of 16534 S. Eastlake Parkway in Lockport was arrested for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and DUI.  He was also charged with four aggravated DUI’s.

 

4/11 Location:  13000 block of W. Pin Oak Drive

Summary:  Person/s unknown broke into a vehicle and stripped out the steering column panel.

 

4/12 Location:  W. 167th St. and S. Eastlake Parkway

Summary:  Briana Smith, age 22, of 16865 S. Evergreen Terrace in Homer Glen was arrested for too fast for conditions and DUI.

Summary:  Stephen Hannus, age 40, of this address, was arrested for battery.

 

4/1 Location:  1134 E. 9th St. Dan’s Automotive

Summary:   Owner stated person/s unknown stole a 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis from the business parking lot during the overnight hours.  Sheriff’s deputies were advised a few hours after they took this report that Joliet PD had recovered the vehicle on the 3300 block of Mall Loop Drive in Joliet.

Summary:  Person/s unknown entered a garage service door and stole three sub woofer’s and an amplifier from a vehicle that was parked inside the garage.

Summary:  Jeremy Wilcher, age 39, of 6213 Clifton Court in Plainfield was cited for reckless conduct.

 

Location:  800 block of Hague St.

Summary:  Victim stated that at 4:15am she heard her vehicle alarm go off.  When she went to check she observed a window of her car had been broken out and her purse that was on the front seat had been stolen.

4/2 Location:  12000 block of W. Mackinac Rd.

Summary:  Person/s unknown broke into a shed and stole a pressure washer.

 

4/4 Location:  15112 S. Bell Road Creamery 151

Summary:  Person/s unknown pushed in the glass drive-thru window and gained entry into the business.  Offender/s stole USC and smashed two computer monitors.  

 

Location:  163rd and Cedar Road

Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a wallet containing a driver’s license, $100, and three credit cards.  The victim stated that he was at the lake fishing when the incident occurred.  He could not see his vehicle from where he was fishing.

            Summary:  Ronald Weigand, age 54, of this address, was arrested for criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct, obstructing justice, and assault.

 

LOCKPORT

 

3/26     Location:  16000 block of S. Rankin Drive                           

            Summary:  Person/s unknown pried the door open to a vehicle and stole an employee ID badge.

 

3/29     Location:  100 block of Rev. Walton

            Summary:  Around 10pm, person/s unknown threw a hammer through a window of a residence. No one was injured.

 

3/30     Location:  435 Godfrey Avenue

            Summary:  Alexandria Kelly, age 23, of this address, was arrested for aggravated assault.  Aisha Parker, age 18, of 919 Cora St. in Joliet was arrested for aggravated battery to a police officer and battery.  Chacity S. Johnson, age 18, of 2612 Ruth Fitzgerald Drive in Plainfield was arrested for battery.  A female juvenile was also cited for resisting arrest.

3/23     Location:  14853 S. Founders Crossing                      Pepes Mexican Restaurant

            Summary:  An unknown subject wearing a mask broke the glass door out of the business.  The offender stole $42. 

 

3/26     Location:  W. 151^st and S. Gougar Road

            Summary:  Marcos Mendoza, age 28, of 1647 W. Kimberly Lane in Romeoville was arrested for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, failure to give aid and leaving the scene of an accident.

 

            Location:  12000 block of W. Woodland Drive

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered a pickup truck and stole a backpack containing an impact driver, two power tool batteries and a set of screwdrivers.

 

3/27     Location:  12000 block of W. Moorland       

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an unlocked vehicle that was parked in the driveway.  The offender used the garage door opener that was inside that vehicle to open the garage door.  The offender/s then stole a 2015 blue Dodge Challenger out of the garage.  The keys had been left inside that vehicle.

3/25     Location:  23321 W. Bentley Drive                            Plainfield

            Summary:  Jacob Bandyk, age 18, of this address, was arrested for expired license plates, driving while license suspended, transportation of open alcohol unlawful possession of cannabis, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and obstructing a peace officer.

 

3/29     Location:  Rt. 126 and S. County Line Road                         Plainfield

            Summary:  Michael Carey, age 56, of 24460 W. Woodridge Way in Shorewood was cited for improper backing onto roadway, failure to submit accident report/10 days, and driving while license revoked.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown driving an older model maroon van stole a water pump, a truck transmission, a wheel barrel and a metal bed frame.

            Summary:  Michael D. Doyle, age 22, of 204 San Carlos in Minooka was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and improper lane usage.

            Summary:  Jacob Bogdan, age 20, of 2737 W. Peterson in Chicago was arrested for aggravated assault.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered a vehicle and stole a wallet and loose change.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an unlocked vehicle and stole three social security cards and an Amazon Kindle.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a speaker system.

 

3/30     Location:  95 S. Chicago St.                           Adult Detention Facility

            Summary:  Dieontae Sparks, age 20, of 20854 W. Barrington Lane in Plainfield was charged with aggravated assault.

 

            Location:  900 block of New Lenox Road

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke into a residence and stole jewelry.

 

            Location:  3300 block of Pinecrest Drive

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a debit card.

            Summary:  Timothy Kvasnicka, age 30, of 175 W. 29^th St. in South Chicago Heights was arrested for DUI and driving while license suspended.

3/17     Location:  14135 S. Bell Road                       Dunkin Donuts

            Summary:  Employee stated that she arrived at work at 4am and observed the store had been burglarized. Video surveillance revealed one male white and one male black with scarfs covering their faces entered the store and stole USC around 12:30am. 

 

WEST TOWNSHIPS

 

3/17     Location:  15000 block of S. River Court                  Plainfield

            Summary:  Two unknown subjects, driving a silver Lexus, pulled into a residential driveway, broke into a garage service door and stole a 2001 Ford Expedition and a 65” TV from inside the home.

 

3/19     Location:  14050 S. Budler Road                               Lakewood Falls Elementary

            Summary:  Zachary Drada, age 19, of 13958 S. Edgewater Court in Plainfield was arrested for criminal damage to property after a deputy observed him driving his truck in circles near the parking lot and onto a grassy area.  The incident caused deep ruts, torn grass and tire tracks on the school property.  

 

JOLIET

 

3/17     Location:  14 W. Jefferson St.                        Will County Courthouse

            Summary:  Alexis J. Cadenas, age 28, no address, was charged with criminal damage to government property after he was being escorted to a courtroom and punched his elbow through the glass window of a fire extinguisher. 

 

3/21     Location:  1100 block of Rooney Drive

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an unlocked vehicle and stole two credit cards and a FOID card.

 

3/22     Location:  100 block of Stevens Avenue

            Summary:  Maurice L. Lain, age 35, of 916 N. Midland in Joliet was arrested for aggravated battery, domestic battery and was held on an active FTA warrant.

 

SOUTH TOWNSHIPS

 

3/23     Location:  12126 W. Heather Glen Lane                                Manhattan

            Summary:  John M. Shaddon, age 52, of this address, was arrested for two counts of aggravated assault. A crew of utility workers stated that they were contracted to run a fiber optic underground cable in the easement at the back of some residential properties.  As they were using a boring machine in order to run the cable Shaddon exited his home with a hammer in his hand and stated he did not like the position in which the machine was on his property and that he was going to impound the machine.  He then reached in and removed the key from the boring machine ignition and swung the hammer at one of the crew.  Another crewmember then grabbed the hammer out of Shaddon’s hand and Shaddon returned to his house with the key.  Shaddon then came out of his house with a shotgun; he cocked and pointed it at the crew.

   Deputies then spoke with Shaddon who stated that he did not like the crew being on his property and they should not be there because of the stay at home order from the governor.  He also alleged that he was attacked by the crew because he had a hammer.  Shaddon was arrested and transported to the ADF.
