9/15     Location:  18000 block of S. Parker Road                             Frankfort

            Summary:  Bruce Hermann, age 67, of 821 Lenox in New Lenox was cited for failure to signal, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and violation of license classification.

 

9/19     Location:  S. Center and Prairie Creek Drive                         Frankfort

            Summary:  Marcia Reicher, age 61, of 190 Cochran in Manhattan was cited for driving while license revoked and improper lane usage.

 

WEST TOWNSHIPS

 

9/16     Location:  25w30 Ramm Drive                                  Wheatland       Wheatland Automotive

            Summary:  Two unknown subjects came onto business property around 2am and stole a catalytic converter off a vehicle.  The subjects left the property in a dark blue pickup and a silver four-door vehicle.

 

9/20     Location:  15153 SE Frontage Road              Plainfield                     Lumen

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke into a property and stole 60 feet of copper wire.

 

EAST TOWNSHIPS

 

9/15     Location:  24118 S. Governors Highway                   Monee

            Summary:  Rebecca B. Kelly, age 57, of this address was arrested for battery.

 

9/17     Location:  4600 block of W. Stuenkel Road                          Monee

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a 2000 Ford F250 from a private residence.  The vehicle had the keys inside and doors unlocked at time of theft.  Several other vehicles were rummaged through during the theft but nothing appeared to be missing.

 

9/18     Location:  24000 block of S. Willow Brook Trail                  Crete

            Summary:  An elderly man reported that about 6pm an unknown male/black, about 6ft. tall, 230lbs, wearing a mask knocked on the front door of his residence.  The unknown man stated that he was from the water department and needed to come inside to the basement to test his water.   The homeowner allowed the man into his basement and after several minutes realized the situation was suspicious and told the man to get out of his house.  The unknown man then took off running out of the house.  The homeowner then heard more than one individual upstairs.  The subjects entered a white compact vehicle.  He then discovered that the subjects had gone through a jewelry box in a bedroom.   It did not appear that anything was stolen.

 

9/20     Location:  23000 block of S. Sara Court                                Crete

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke into a residence and stole a wallet containing several credit cards. 

 

LOCKPORT

 

9/19     Location:  17247 W. Oak Avenue     

            Summary:  Miriam Salvador, age 62, of this address, was issued an ordinance citation for loud music.

9/14     Location:  Gardner and Doris

            Summary:  Santos D. Barrios-Ventura, age 33, of 428 Elmwood St. in Joliet was cited for disobeying a stopped school bus and no valid driver’s license.

            Summary:  Dominique K. Williams, age 27, of 8326 S. Peoria St. in Chicago was charged with reckless conduct and criminal trespass to state property.

 

9/15     Location:  27655 S. Frontage Road                            T-Mobile

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke into the cell phone tower property and stole $150 worth of copper wire.  Employee from T-Mobile stated that this location was at least the tenth site that he maintains that has had a theft of copper within the past few months. 

 

            Location:  100 W. Jefferson                           Will County Courthouse

            Summary:  Ricardo P. Angelo Dodson, age 23, of 12517 S. Ashland in Calumet Park was charged with defrauding a court ordered drug/alcohol screening.

 

9/17     Location:  W. Rosalind and S. Farrell

            Summary:  Juan Ochoa-Morales, age 30, of 500 Irving in Joliet was charged with resisting a peace officer.

 

            Location:  W. Jefferson and Airport Drive

            Summary:  Angela Stevens, age 48, of 5215 Riviera Blvd in Plainfield was arrested for DUI, improper lane usage, illegal transportation of alcohol, and no valid driver’s license,.

 

9/18     Location:  W. Jefferson and Essington

            Summary:  Luis Ortiz-Garcia, age 36, of 405 N. Broadway in Joliet was arrested for DUI, speeding, and illegal transportation of alcohol.

 

9/19     Location:  100 block of Jessie

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a 2016 Dodge Ram 5500 series.  The vehicle was white with an orange/red tow truck apparatus attached.

 

9/20     Location:  W. Jefferson and N. Reed

            Summary:  Samantha Bravato, age 27, of 1708 Oakland Avenue in Crest Hill was cited for no valid driver’s license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

 

            Location:  Plainfield and Douglas

            Summary:  Ronald E. Samuel, Jr., age 27, of 402 N Center St. in Joliet was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and bringing contraband into a penal institution. 

 

            Location:  100 block of S. Briggs

            Summary:  An elderly man reported that around 1pm an unknown male/white, dressed in a reflective jacket wearing a mask with his hood tied tightly to his head.  The subject stated he was from the water company and that he needed to come inside to check his water.  The homeowner allowed the man inside and led him to the basement.  The subject instructed the homeowner to run the sink for 10 minutes.  While the subject and the homeowner were in the basement the subject was on the phone with another person.  The subject then instructed the homeowner to run the water for another five minutes and went upstairs.  When the homeowner went upstairs, he realized the subject/s had stolen two wallets containing USC and silver dollar certificates.  The men were driving a dark blue 4 door SUV.

            Summary:  Shane P. Geiss, age 23, of 203 N. Washington in Wilmington was cited for aggravated speeding.

            Summary:  Raul Dearmon, age 53, of 112 Park St. in Elwood was cited for driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, traffic signal violation, and improper lane usage.

            Summary:  Antonio Gonzalez, age 67, of 32563 S. Lia Lane in Beecher was cited for no valid license and obstructing justice.  He was held on an FTA warrant.

 

9/10     Location:  26000 block of S. Egyptian Trail                           Monee

            Summary:  Jaylin Miller, age 19, of 3437 Woodland Drive in Olympia Fields was arrested for unlawful possession of cannabis, transportation of open alcohol and endangering the life/health of a child.

 

9/11     Location:  25948 S. Dixie Highway               Crete               Country Mart Liquors

            Summary:  Victim reported that around 1:45pm he parked his 2001 Ford F150 in the parking lot of the store and left his keys inside.  While talking to the business owner he looked at the camera monitor and noticed that his truck was missing from the parking lot spot.  Video footage revealed a white/male, with a baseball hat on opening the truck door, get inside, and drive away.

9/8       Location:  14169 S. Bell Road                                   Meijer

            Summary:  Paulina Ploski, age 36, of 12338 W. Derby Lane in Orland Park was arrested for retail theft after she collected over $300 in clothing and attempted to walk out of the store without paying.

 

9/10     Location:  W. Oakwood Drive

            Summary:  An elderly man reported to deputies that on this date he received a phone call from a person who, he thought, sounded like his grandson.  The ‘grandson’ stated that he was in a car accident, injured, and was in trouble with Cook County police.  The call then ended.  About one hour later the man received a call from a person who introduced himself as a Cook County Public Defender named Dave.  ‘Dave’ stated that the man’s grandson was about to go to court and that the judge was going to ask for $5,000, but ‘Dave’ was going to try to get the price reduced and would call back.

The man then received a call back from ‘Dave’, who stated that his grandson would need $3,500 cash. 

The man became wary of the calls and contacted his daughter who informed her dad that the grandson was safe and in school.

            Summary:  Brian Finnegan, age 27, of 13526 S. Erin Drive in Homer Glen was arrested for DUI and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

            Summary:  Elliott Parker, age 24, of 400 Jessie St. in Joliet was arrested for DUI, possession/use of cannabis in motor vehicle and improper lighting.

            Summary:  Makayla Jacobs, age 22, of 3103 Arbors Edge Drive in Joliet was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

            Summary:  Silvano Silva Sanchez, age 46, of 5306 S. Fairfield in Chicago was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, driving while license revoked and no registration lights.  He was held on two active warrants; one out of Arkansas and one out of Colorado.

            Summary:  Donald C. Waddell, Jr., age 30, of 1107 Magnolia Avenue in Joliet was arrested for DUI, driving while license suspended, following too closely and failure to signal.

            Summary:  An unknown male/white subject in his mid-50s, stole a John Deere riding lawn mower from the driveway of a residence around 12:30pm.  The man was observed backing up his red full sized pickup truck and trailer onto the driveway and stealing the mower.

            Summary:  Colleen Dunlop, age 47, of 20631 Orchard Court in Frankfort was cited for improper lane usage, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and DUI.

            Summary:  Kendall W. Brewster, age 18, of 1866 S. Lawndale in Chicago was arrested for improper lane usage, improper turn signal, speeding, aggravated unlawful use of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm/ammunition, no FOID card, and no conceal carry weapons permit.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a Ford F-350 pickup truck was stolen from a driveway.  The vehicle was unlocked and had the keys inside at the time of the theft.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole four 37” Toyo Tires/Rims.  Also stolen was three Artic Sectional Plows.  Estimated value of the plows was $7,800 each.

            Summary:  Julius Jones, age 38, of 1322 Kennedy Lane in Ford Heights was cited for illegal use of blue oscillating, rotating, flashing lights on a motor vehicle and no valid driver’s license.

            Summary:  Robert F. Gemmato, age 36, of 13435 S. Ave M in Chicago was arrested for DUI, driving while license revoked, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and aggravated DUI.

            Summary:  James F. Maloney, age 60, of 3447 W. 112^th Place in Chicago was cited for aggravated speeding.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke a lock off the fence gate in order to enter and steal 30 feet of copper and ground wiring.

            Summary:  Daniela Munoz Acosta, age 27, of 1229 Bayberry Drive in Joliet was arrested for DUI, improper lane usage, and two counts of no child restraints.

            Summary:  Jason Bell, age 41, of 129 N. Cranberry St. in Bolingbrook was charged with defrauding a court ordered drug/alcohol screening.

            Summary:  Alexander Frazier, age 38, of 201 Bradford Road in Joliet was arrested for speeding, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, aggravated driving while license revoked, DUI/alcohol, DUI/drugs, DUI/combination, possession of a controlled substance, aggravated DUI.

 

            Location:  S. Briggs Street

            Summary:   An elderly couple reported to deputies that on 9/1/21, around 3pm, an unknown male/black subject, about six feet tall and 250lbs, wearing an orange construction vest, fisherman’s hat, and holding a walkie-talkie, visited their house.  The subject stated that he needed to show them an area of their backyard where he was going to have to do some digging.  The subject claimed that the neighbors hired him to help with a bacteria problem in their water system.  The couple went to the backyard with the subject, who stated his name was Alexander.  While the subject was speaking with the couple, they heard a male voice on the walkie-talkie who said, “ok, give me six minutes.”  The subject continued to speak with the couple and then the man on the walkie-talkie would say, “Ok, four more minutes.” 

   The couple then became suspicious and went inside.  He observed the subject leaving the home in a black minivan.  An empty safe was stolen and a jewelry box was damaged but nothing was found to be missing.

            Summary:  Luis Maya-Figon, age 50, of 106 E. Jefferson St. in Shorewood was arrested for DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol, and illegal use of cell phone.

Cahill, age 47, of 2410 Barry in Crest Hill was charged with no seatbelt, failure to signal changing lanes, illegal transportation of alcohol, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, no valid registration, improper use of registration, and driving while license revoked.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke into a home and ransacked it.  Stolen was four flat screen TV’s.

            Summary:  Denise Corona-Salazar, age 39, of 5403 72^nd Court in Summit Argo, IL was arrested for improper lane usage, improper lighting, illegal transportation of alcohol, and DUI.

            Summary:  Jose Rangel-Lara, age 34, of 207 Wilson Avenue in Joliet was cited for driving while license suspended.

 

            Location:  Plainfield Road and Douglas St.

            Summary:  Victorio De Le Cruz-Diaz, age 30, of 123 S. Raynor in Joliet was arrested for DUI, improper equipment, illegal transportation of alcohol, and improper lane usage.

            Summary:  Jose De Jesus Larios-Ibarra, age 51, of 9 NE Circle Drive in Joliet was arrested for DUI, speeding, improper lane usage and failure to signal.

EAST TOWNSHIPS

 

8/25     Location:  5100 block of W. Pauling                          Monee

            Summary:  Debra Lewis, age 22, of 6719 S. Loomis Blvd. in Chicago was cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle, improper lane usage, no seatbelt and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

 

            Location:  26435 S. Dixie Highway               Balmoral Race Track              Crete

            Summary:  Caretaker stated to deputies that person/s unknown broke into the main building and broke 23 large viewing windows on the first floor and threw furniture out the window.  Offenders broke 17 pictures, a horse skeleton display, knocked over a stand-up food tray warmer and a VCR.  On the third floor, offender/s broke out 22 large viewing windows and threw out multiple chairs and tables out of the windows.  Large amounts of plates, bowls, and cups were thrown down a flight of stairs, multiple fire extinguishers were emptied and thrown about, a billiards table was flipped over, holes were knocked into the walls, furniture overturned and glass bar shelving was shattered.  On the fourth floor, the air conditioning unit was on and multiple monitors and instrument panels had been turned on.  58 chairs and 4 tables were found outside the building on the ground.  Caretaker stated that the viewing windows estimated replacement cost was between $5000 and $10,000 each.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a 1982 Chevy Caprice from a garage.  The garage door had been left open and the vehicle was unlocked with the keys inside at time of theft.

 

            Location:  29258 S. Ridgeland Avenue                                  Peotone

            Summary:  Eric W. Griffiths, age 45, of this address, was charged with aggravated battery to a peace officer.

 

8/30     Location:  Main and W. Exchange                                         Crete

            Summary:  Terrence A. Johnson, age 30, of 21700 Clyde Avenue in Sauk Village was cited for aggravated speeding.

            Summary:  Machelle L. Gazzillo, age 46, of 3209 Carpenter St. in Steger was cited for improper display of registration and was held on an active Kankakee County warrant.

 

8/28     Location:  12000 block of W. Clyde Court                            New Lenox

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a 2016 Dodge Ram from US-30 Auto Sales.

 

LOCKPORT

 

8/24     Location:  16000 block of S. Weber Road

            Summary:  Victim stated that shortly before 6pm an unknown male/white knocked on her front door and stated that he needed to cut down a tree in her backyard.  The victim told the man that he was not allowed to cut down any trees.  The victim told the man to meet her in the backyard.  She left the front door unlocked when she went to the backyard and spoke to the man for about 15 minutes.  The man then stated that he had to make a call to his boss and never returned.  Victim discovered that a second person had entered her home and stole a large safe containing a 9mm handgun, USC, gold coins, wedding rings, ammunition, and a passport.  The unknown male was driving a midsized black SUV.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke into a residence.  It was unclear at time of report if anything was stolen.

 

8/25     Location:  800 block of E. First St.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole two stone eagle statues from the front of a residence.

 

8/27     Location:  S. State and North Avenue

            Summary:  Salvador Alvarado Contreras, age 29, of 106 Hughes Avenue in Lockport was arrested for DUI, speeding, one headlight, transporation/possession of open alcohol by driver, failure to secure new registration and improper lane usage.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown attempted to steal a catalytic converter from a vehicle.

            Summary:  Eyad Elmosa, age 25, of 10860 Crystal Meadow Court in Orland Park was cited for speeding and driving while license suspended.

            Summary:  Paris Reese, age 27, of 421 Jessie St. in Joliet was arrested for no front license plate, DUI, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and operating vehicle without registration.

            Summary:  Victim stated that while she was outside doing yard work a well-dressed male Hispanic, wearing ComEd clothing, approached her.  The man spoke to her about an electric pole that was out in her area.  After speaking with the man, the victim did not believe him and went to her front door when she saw a second individual run out of her garage.   The men left in a small white car.  The victim advised deputies that $200 was stolen and a ring from her bedroom.

            Summary:  Rahman Polk, age 54, of 9742 S. Beverly Avenue in Chicago was cited for aggravated speeding and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

            Summary:  Victim stated that she received a private message on Facebook from, who she believed to be, a very close friend.  The message was regarding getting a government grant to open her own business.  The victim was interested in the grant and was directed to take $1500 in gift cards to start the program.  The victim followed the direction and sent the gift cards.  The victim then became suspicious and contacted her friend who stated that it was not him who sent the message and that he must have been hacked. 

 

8/23     Location:  1801 E. Lincoln Highway                         Lincolnway Central High School

            Summary:  An unknown white/male jumped the fence surrounding the football field around 4:50am on 8/21/21.  The offender moved a picnic table onto the field, pulled football yard markers out of the ground, and threw trash from surrounding garbage cans all over the field.   Video surveillance is being reviewed.

            Summary:  Victim stated that in April she hired an individual who stated that he was a general contractor.  A contract was drawn for several home improvements upgrades.  The victim paid the individual for the work.   The individual has not performed any of the work and victim believes he does not intend to provide the work.   Victim stated that she has recently observed numerous Facebook posts in reference to the same individual doing the same thing to other people in the area.

            Summary:  Luis A. Soto, age 31, of 14343 Beacon in Orland Park was cited for driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and speeding.

            Summary:  Victim stated that in June she hired an individual who stated that he was a general contractor.  A contract was drawn up to replace asphalt with a concrete driveway. Victim paid the individual a deposit to start the work.  Victim believes the individual defrauded her and does not intend to do the work. Victim also stated that she has recently observed numerous Facebook posts in reference to the same individual defrauding other people.
