WEST TOWNSHIPS
8/11 Location: 13909 S. Budler Road Plainfield Creekside Elementary School
Summary: Deputies were called around 6:30am regarding an unoccupied 2016 Kia Optima on the school’s property. The engine was stilled running and it appeared that the vehicle had pulled into the parking lot, hit a curb, went into the grass, crossed over a sidewalk then back into the grass where it stopped. The driver’s door was open, and the vehicle had a flat front tire. No keys were in the ignition and the entire steering column had been opened and damaged. Deputies also discovered several circular tire tracks in the back parking lot where the stolen vehicle had been doing ‘donuts’.
Deputies were notified that the vehicle had been reported stolen from a Baytree Drive residence in Romeoville. Romeoville Police arrived on the scene and informed deputies that a nearby residence in which the vehicle was stolen had video footage that revealed four individuals entering the vehicle around 3am and stealing it.
8/12 Location: 21000 block of W. Franklin Circle Plainfield
Summary: Around 3:30am, person/s unknown broke into a 2017 Kia Sportage, tore the steering column panel off and pulled wiring out in an attempt to steal the vehicle. Two debit cards and $40 were stolen from the vehicle.
Location: 14000 block of S. Edgewater Drive Plainfield
Summary: Person/s unknown entered an unlocked 2018 Kia Sorento that was parked in the driveway of a residence and damaged the steering wheel column and turn signal. The interior of the vehicle was in complete disarray.
Location: 13909 S. Budler Road Plainfield Creekside Elementary School
Summary: While on additional patrol in Lakewood Falls subdivision due to the increase in motor vehicle thefts, deputies observed a 2020 Kia Telluride in the east parking lot of the school. The vehicle was unoccupied and had a flat tire. Deputies contacted the owner around 4:45am who was surprised to find out his vehicle was missing. The vehicle was stolen from the residence on the 14000 block of S. Crete Court in Plainfield.
8/13 Location: 21000 block of W. Chastworth Lane Plainfield
Summary: Person/s unknown broke into a 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe and attempted to steal the vehicle by damaging the steering column and ignition.
8/14 Location: S. Independence Blvd and University Parkway DuPage
Summary: Aliyah Magana, age 24, of Silver Rock Drive in Crest Hill was cited for aggravated speeding.
Location: 13000 block of S. Jonesport Circle Plainfield
Summary: Resident stated, while reviewing overnight video surveillance, they observed four unknown male subjects all wearing dark clothing and masks, attempt to enter their 2019 Kia. The subjects pulled on the door handles however the vehicle was locked. The subjects were observed leaving the area on foot.
8/15 Location: 22000 block of W. Miller Drive Plainfield
Summary: Victim stated that an unknown female black walked to his front step and stole an Amazon package off his front step. The offender was observed on video footage.
Location: 13909 S. Budler Road Plainfield Creekside Elementary School
Summary: About 3am, while conducting added patrols in Lakewood Falls, deputies observed an upside-down bicycle in the field and a male juvenile, approximately 5’5” with dark clothing and a hoody. The subject ran north across the field into the Isle Royal Circle area of the neighborhood. Deputies then smelled fresh paint and observed several gang related graffiti markings on the dumpster and bench near the playground. They also observed a marking scratched into a window of the school.

JOLIET
8/10 Location: 95 S. Chicago St. Adult Detention Facility
Summary: Kelvyn Flores-Calvillo, age 24, of 3104 Gloria Lane in Joliet was charged with possessing contraband inside a penal institution after correctional officers discovered a small, handheld, torn up bed sheet containing knots and a rubber door stopper inside the knotted sheet hidden inside a cell mattress.
8/12 Location: McDonough and S. Chicago
Summary: Deandre L. Smith, age 34, of Gardner Street in Joliet was cited for driving while license suspended, suspended registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
Location: 1500 block of N. Broadway
Summary: Person/s unknown stole a 2017 Lincoln Continental from a fenced in parking lot.
8/13 Location: N. Larkin and Ingalls
Summary: Jose Renteria, age 51, of 2943 N. Linder in Chicago was arrested for aggravated DUI, DUI, driving while license revoked, improper lane usage, failure to signal and speeding. He was also held on an active Will County warrant.
Location: Maple Road and Elgin
Summary: David L. Hatten, Jr., age 47, of 1401 Fairview Avenue in Joliet was arrested for DUI and improper lane usage.
8/15 Location: Peale Street
Summary: Person/s unknown, driving a silver Impala, drove by a residence/apartment and shot multiple bullets at the building. Three bullets were found that went through a front window, one causing damage to a TV. Residents were home at the time of the shooting however no one was injured. Other bullets holes were found in a vacant apartment next door.
FRANKFORT AND NEW LENOX
8/9 Location: 19730 S. Harlem Avenue Frankfort Speedway Gas
Summary: Around midnight, deputies responded to an armed robbery at the Speedway Gas station. Two employees stated that an unknown male black subject wearing an N95 mask, and a hoody entered the store, grabbed three bags of chips, and approached the counter. A customer also approached the counter at the same time. The male black then went around to the back of the counter, lifted his hoody to display a semi-automatic pistol and stated “Get on the ground” multiple times. The employees and the customer complied, and the offender stole USC from the register and ran out of the store. No one was injured.
8/10 Location: 13000 block of W. Elizabeth Mokena
Summary: Victim stated that while arriving back home around 5pm, she observed an unknown Ford Explorer in the driveway. Victim then observed three large men wearing masks and glasses who stated that they were with a tree service. The victim immediately called 911 and stayed inside her vehicle. The Ford then left the area. When deputies arrived, the victim observed that her back glass door had been broken into. It did not appear that the offenders had made full entry into the residence.
EAST TOWNSHIPS
8/11 Location: 1900 block of E. Burville Rd. Crete
Summary: Deputies responded to an activated alarm system and observed a front door that had been kicked open. Owner arrived on scene to find that offender/s had stolen jewelry and had ransacked rooms within the residence.
Location: 24142 S. Governors Highway Monee Inn Monee
Summary: Person/s unknown kicked in the back door of the building and stole five air conditioning units and a television. The Inn is currently closed and under renovation.
8/14 Location: 1700 block of W. Norfolk Avenue Crete
Summary: Person/s unknown broke into a pole building and rifled through storage containers. Nothing appeared to be missing.
SOUTH TOWNSHIPS
8/15 Location: S. Washington and E. Main Reed
Summary: David Haga Jr., age 21, of 1005 Black Diamond Drive in Coal City was arrested for aggravated fleeing/eluding police, attempting to elude police, aggravated speeding, reckless driving, disobeying a traffic control device, improper lane usage, driving while license expired, and driver’s license classification violation.
HOMER GLEN
8/15 Location: S. Gougar Road and W. 159th St.
Summary: Arturo Guzman-Marquez, age 24, of Schroeder Avenue in Peotone was cited for driving while license suspended and speeding.
