SOUTH TOWNSHIPS
7/7 Location: Ski Nautique Drive and W. Wilmington-Peotone Wilmington
Summary: Michael Berta, age 54, of 30859 Correct Craft Lane in Wilmington was arrested for DUI, improper lane usage and illegal transportation of alcohol by driver.
Location: 34000 block of S. Walnut Avenue Wilmington
Summary: Person/s unknown stole a 2006 Ford F-350 from the driveway of a residence. A second vehicle parked in the driveway was rummaged through by offender/s. This vehicle was unlocked and had the spare key for the Ford F-350 inside.
7/8 Location: 36000 block of S. Ohlhues Road Wilmington
Summary: Victim stated that he placed an ad in the newspaper to sell a generator for $300. He received a text message from a person who stated his name and was interested in purchasing the item. A few days later the victim received a package from UPS with a bank check for $1,990 and an address in Mustang, OK. The victim deposited the check at his bank. He was then was told by the ‘buyer’ to keep the $300 for the generator but to send the overpayment of money to a person in Ferndale, MI. The victim was told that the person from MI would be picking up the generator at a later date. The victim sent two UPS money orders; one for $1,000 and one for $650 to the address in MI. On July 7th, the victim was notified by his bank that the original check for $1,990 was altered and fraudulent.
7/10 Location: 3195 E. Division St. Reed Shell Gas
Summary: Victim stated while inside the store person/s unknown stole his 2018 Jeep Compass. The vehicle was unlocked and running in front of the store when it was stolen. The victim’s cell phone was inside the vehicle and while tracking the phone location was able to track it heading eastbound on Coal City Road near Rt. 53. Responding deputies located the vehicle near Coal City Road and West River Road in Wilmington. The vehicle was still running, but was unoccupied. While reviewing surveillance video it was discovered that offenders, driving a silver Chevy Cruz, stole the vehicle. Deputy’s suspect the Chevy Cruz could possibly be the same vehicle that had been reported stolen from a Dollar General on 7/9 out of Grundy County. Under investigation.
7/12 Location: 34000 block of S. Lakeside Terrace Wilmington
Summary: Deputies were called regarding a possible recovered stolen vehicle. Upon arrival they observed a Dodge Ram 1500 located down a hillside, stuck in one foot of mud, about 60ft from the shoreline of the Kankakee River. Deputies were informed that the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Sheldon, IL on July 12th.
Location: 34000 block of S. Wurtz Road Wilmington
Summary: Person/s unknown stole a 2016 Chevy Silverado from the driveway of a residence. The truck was left unlocked overnight with the keys inside the vehicle at time of theft. The vehicle was located, later that day, in Kankakee County. OnStar was activated by the vehicle owner and he was advised that the engine had been disabled and it was now in a stationary location in Kankakee.
EAST TOWNSHIPS
7/11 Location: 23000 block of S. Raymond Drive Crete
Summary: Deputies were dispatched around 4:15pm to a stolen motor vehicle report. Victim stated that while he and his family were in the back of his residence, watching a soccer game, person/s unknown stole his 2014 SUV Range Rover from his driveway. The vehicle was unlocked with the keys inside at time of theft.
WEST TOWNSHIPS
7/6 Location: 26000 block of W. 128th St. Plainfield
Summary: Person/s unknown broke into a residence and stole fine jewelry, a large coin collection, and 12 sets of sterling silver silverware.
Location: 300 block of Lily Cache Lane DuPage
Summary: Jayla J. Cummings, age 20, of 313 Woodcreek Drive in Bolingbrook was arrested for resisting arrest. She was held at the ADF on an active Will County warrant and an active Kendall County warrant.
7/7 Location: 12011 S. Aero Drive Aero Auto Body Plainfield
Summary: Person/s unknown entered the driveway of the business and cut a catalytic converter from a customer’s vehicle.
7/8 Location: Caton Farm Road and Rt. 59 Plainfield
Summary: Michael Tran, age 26, of 2709 Arches Drive in Plainfield was cited for failure to yield while turning and no valid license.
NEW LENOX AND FRANKFORT
7/7 Location: 1200 block of Edmonds Avenue New Lenox
Summary: Two suspects were observed on video surveillance rummaging through a vehicle. Offender/s stole various credit cards and gift cards.
7/10 Location: 10000 block of Front St. Mokena
Summary: Victim stated that he found a posting on Facebook regarding the sale of a 2008 Nissan Ultima for $1,000. The victim contacted the seller via email and was instructed to pay for the car through E-Bay. He was also provided a phone number to call. The victim called the number and spoke with a subject who advised him to obtain E-bay gift cards in the amounts of $1,000 for purchase of vehicle, $800 for insurance, and shipping, and $600 for taxes. The victim purchased the $2400 in E-bay cards and then called the subject back and provided him with the gift card numbers. The victim has not received the vehicle; the phone number is disconnected; and E-bay customer service has advised the victim that they had no record of the sale or any transaction information. E-bay informed the victim that it appeared that he had been scammed.
JOLIET
7/6 Location: 300 block of S. Larkin
Summary: Matthew Post, age 35, of 621 W. Marion in Joliet was cited for driving while license suspended and was held on an active IL State Police warrant.
Location: 3500 block of Mall Loop Drive
Summary: Parrish Walls, age 31, of 3629 Tyler in Joliet was cited for disobeying a traffic control device and driving while license revoked.
Location: 95 S. Chicago St. Adult Detention Facility
Summary: Roger A. Thompson, age 29, of 725 N. Sleepy Hollow Lane in Romeoville was charged with aggravated battery to a correctional officer after Thompson was being escorted to his cell when he punched the officer in the head.
7/8 Location: Stryker and W. Jefferson
Summary: Scott A. Wells, age 51, of 2014 First Avenue in Tuscaloosa, AL was cited for driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and disobeying a stop sign.
7/10 Location: 1300 block of Elgin
Summary: Erick Alonso Venegas, age 18, of 511 Francis St. in Joliet was arrested for DUI, unsafe equipment, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, and leaving the scene of an accident.
7/12 Location: 95 S. Chicago St. Adult Detention Facility
Summary: Titeana Washington, age 22, of 611 E. Cass in Joliet was charged with felony disorderly conduct after she came into the entrance of the ADF and wanted to visit her boyfriend. She was advised by correctional staff that she would need to make an appointment at the Video Visitation Center across the street and follow procedures for visitation of inmates. Washington then became upset, flipped over a trashcan, ripped down signs that were posted and began yelling at staff.

Summary: Roger Allen Thompson, age 29, of 725 N. Sleepy Hollow Lane in Romeoville was charged with assault after throwing an unknown liquid at another inmate.
HOMER GLEN
7/6 Location: W. 143rd St. and S. Bell Road
Summary: Ashley Dawson, age 33, of 3803 Gloria Lane in Joliet was cited for aggravated speeding.
7/7 Location: 13956 S. Bell Road Menards
Summary: An unknown male/black and female/black, both in their mid-50’s, were observed leaving the store with two window air conditioners, a 16 count pack of toilet paper, one can of Febreeze spray and two car air fresheners.
Location: S. Gougar and W. 151st St.
Summary: Jeremy Bryant, age 29, of 1650 Downs Drive in Calumet City was cited for aggravated speeding.
Location: 16000 block of W. 151st St.
Summary: Person/s unknown broke into a residence and stole fine jewelry, and three handguns.
7/9 Location: 12914 W. 143rd St. Goodings Grove School
Summary: Northwest Homer Fire personnel were called to the scene for a fire at the playground equipment. Fire personnel extinguished flames that they believed to be intentional. Located near the slide were two firework sparklers, which started the fire. The slide was damaged because of the fire.
