Summary: Victim stated that around 12:46pm he received a cell phone call from a subject who gave the victim his name and stated that he was in possession of the victim’s young daughter and was demanding $500 in cash to secure her safe return. The victim informed deputies that at one point during the phone conversation someone, which he believed to be a little girl, was put on the phone using his daughter’s first name.
While questioning the victim deputies learned that he believed his daughter to be with her mother (victim’s ex-wife) at a local movie theatre in New Lenox. The victim attempted to call his ex-wife but she did not answer.
