1/28 Location: 12528 W. Mackinac Road Christian Life Church
Summary: Church Pastor stated that person/s unknown contacted multiple church members via text pretending to be him. Members stated that the unknown person who sent the text asked the members to purchase Visa gift cards. Under investigation.
Location: S. Messenger Circle and W. 159th St.
Summary: Todd Wysock, age 43, of 932 Herr Drive in New Lenox was arrested for improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, no headlight, failure to give information after a crash, failure to report an accident, illegal transportation of alcohol, DUI and aggravated DUI.
1/30 Location: 15301 S. Bell Road Megaplex and Elite Fitness
Summary: Victim stated that person/s unknown went into his gym bag and stole his wallet while he was working out in the gym. On 2/1/21, a second victim reported that person/s unknown went into his coat jacket pocket and stole his wallet. Several credit cards that had been stolen from both victims were being used at area stores. Through video surveillance and witnesses that identified the offender, Sheriff’s deputies went to Nicholas Bellair’s home, at 13451 Haggard Street in Homer Glen, spoke with him, and arrested him. He was charged with the following felonies: burglary, 2 counts of theft over $500, and possession of another person’s credit cards.

NEW LENOX AND FRANKFORT
1/31 Location: 500 block of N. Marley Road New Lenox
Summary: An elderly victim reported that around 5:30pm an unknown male Hispanic knocked on her front door and stated that he was from ComEd. The man explained that there was a fatal car accident down the road and that a vehicle had knocked down a transformer. He asked to come in and check her circuit breaker. The victim allowed the man inside and brought him to her basement. The man asked the victim to tap on the circuit breaker with a small pipe while she counted to thirty. The man was on his cell phone during the entire incident. The victim later discovered that she was a victim of a ruse burglary. Offenders had stolen her fine jewelry and USC.

1/26 Location: N. Eastern and E. Jefferson
Summary: Jasmine N. Smith, age 33, of 1449 Pioneer Road in Crest Hill was cited for no registration lights and driving while license revoked.
Location: Western and N. William
Summary: Summer D. Graham, age 26, of 963 Campbell St. in Joliet was cited for no child restraints, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and driving while license suspended.
Location: N. Hickory and Western
Summary: Mauricio Flores-DeAquino, age 24, of 305 Hickory in Joliet was cited for following too closely and no valid driver’s license.
Location: 1600 block of E. Cass
Summary: Dalton L. Sparks, age 28, of 1402 Main St. in Crete was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, no valid driver’s license and improper display of registration. He was also held on an active FTA warrant.
Location: 95 S. Chicago St. Adult Detention Facility
Summary: Victor J. Hall, age 29, of 808 W. 76 Street in Chicago was charged with aggravated battery to a correctional officer.
1/28 Location: Delaney and Rt. 52
Summary: Jaylen C. Berry, age 24, of 60 Treehouse Road in Matteson was cited for driving while license suspended and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
Location: 20607 Burl Court Chicago Blind Company
Summary: Owner stated person/s unknown stole a 53-foot trailer by pulling into the business with a white semi-truck, attaching it, and driving off with it. Inside the trailer were several high-end machines and materials for the custom blind business.
1/29 Location: 23000 block of S. Frontage Rd.
Summary: Elderly victims stated that around 4pm, an unknown male white subject approached him while he was outside and began talking about the victims’ truck. After finishing the conversation, the victim went into the house where he found that a second unknown male white subject had been inside the house with his wife. The second subject had asked the wife to check the basement water pipes. The subject advised the wife to bang on the pipes while he was upstairs checking all the faucets. It was later discovered that the couple were victims of a ruse burglary. Offenders stole a safe that was in a bedroom. The safe contained legal and financial documents.

Summary: Jason J. Jackson, age 40, of 200 Reichman St. in Joliet was cited for driving while license revoked.
Location: W. Jefferson and N. Hammes
Summary: Juan M. Moffett, age 32, of 613 Grant Avenue in Joliet was cited for driving while license suspended.
Location: Berkley Avenue
Summary: Person/s unknown broke into a residence and stole a safe containing personal paperwork and USC. Also stolen was an Apple Watch, IPad, 65” TV, a sound bar, PlayStation 4, 55” TV and an Xbox One S.
1/30 Location: 21900 SW Frontage Road Leisure Lakes Resort
Summary: Victim stated that while checking on his motor home he found that person/s unknown had cut the catalytic converter from it. Victim found other vehicles in the area that also had catalytic converters removed from their motor homes.
1/31 Location: W. Division and S. Broadway
Summary: Phillip A. Gibbs, age 23, of 1700 Arbor Lane in Crest Hill was arrested for DUI and driving too fast for conditions.
2/1 Location: 100 W. Jefferson St. Will County Courthouse
Summary: Barry V. Ware, age 58, of 1315 Rowell Avenue in Joliet was arrested for possession of a controlled substance after he emptied his pockets at the required security metal detectors.
Location: Berkley Avenue
Summary: Victim advised that on 1/29/21 around 3pm, two male Hispanic subjects came to his door and stated they were from ComEd and needed to check the wiring in the residence because an electrical fire had occurred in the neighborhood. Victim allowed the subjects inside because he believed it to be an emergency. The victim led one subject to his garage to check the fuse box. The men left in a white Mazda or Toyota SUV with no identifiers. After the two departed the victim called ComEd who stated that no technicians were in the area. The victim did not realize he had been a victim of a ruse burglary until this date, 2/1/21, when he realized a safe had been stolen from a bedroom.

1/26 Location: E. Baltimore and N. Kankakee St. Wilmington
Summary: Danielle Christensen, age 43, of 18329 Commercial Drive in Symerton was cited for no valid driver’s license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
Location: 24000 block of W. Lorenzo Road Wilmington
Summary: Two unknown male blacks were observed walking near the rear of a truck holding two boxes. The owner of the truck shouted at the subjects who then dropped the boxes and took off in a red Dodge minivan.

1/27 Location: S. Rt. 394 and W. Goodenow Road Crete
Summary: Luis Novoa, age 24, of 3622 S. Central Avenue in Cicero was cited for aggravated speeding.
1/28 Location: S. Rt. 394 and W. Elms Court Lane Crete
Summary: Traevion S. Gladney, age 19, of 8421 S. Honore St. in Chicago was cited for aggravated speeding.
WEST TOWNSHIPS
1/27 Location: S. Frontage Road and W. Renwick Road Plainfield
Summary: Luis Patino, age 50, of 545 Holloway Drive in Romeoville was arrested for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, improper lane usage, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, driving while license revoked and DUI.
1/28 Location: Pheasant Ridge and Stafford Court Plainfield
Summary: Shane Monaco, age 35, of 6116 Smokey Ridge Drive in Plainfield was cited for failure to secure child in restraint and no valid driver’s license.
1/29 Location: 700 block of Periwinkle Lane Wheatland
Summary: Stacey D. James, age 48, of 321 Stonegate Road in Bolingbrook was taken into custody by Sheriff’s Fugitive Warrants Division. She was booked on three active warrants.
