WILL COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE ARREST TWO IN HIGH SCHOOL THREAT
The Will County Sheriff's Office took two 15 year old male students of Lincoln Way East High School into custody today at about 12pm. The juveniles were picked up at the school and brought to the Sheriff's Investigation Division for questioning. Both boys made statements indicating that the posted threats to an online chat group was a ploy in order to get another juvenile into trouble. The boys made statements that they never intended to harm anyone.
Both juveniles are currently being charged with felony disorderly conduct with more charges pending after review. The juveniles will be brought to the River Valley Juvenile Justice Center in Joliet where they will appear in court tomorrow.
The Sheriff's Office would like to inform the public that a chat group post from a Chicago news organization reporting numerous injuries occurred today at a "Frankfort High School" was fabricated. It is unclear at this time who the originator of the post was. The investigation remains open at this time. -end-
