On June 6, 2016, the Will County Sheriff's Office took a report from Timothy Nelson, an umpire at Mustang Field Baseball Park in Monee Township.  Mr. Nelson submitted information regarding an incident that occurred on the field between him and Monee Mayor Jay Farquhar on June 4, 2016.   According to Nelson he was battered by Farquhar after Farquhar made an inappropriate comment to him.   Nelson stated that after the comment he grabbed Farquhar's arm and then Farquhar punched him in the jaw causing his jaw to break.   

   Since this incident, Sheriff's detectives have interviewed witnesses and have continued their investigation.  Sheriff's detectives are now seeking help from the public in identifying further witnesses.  Detectives are also seeking anyone who may have video recorded the incident.
