WILL COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE MAKE ARREST IN HOME INVASION
On Sunday June 19, 2016 the Will County Sheriff’s responded to the 100 block of Jessie, Joliet regarding a disturbance call. When deputies arrived they discovered that a male Hispanic had forced his way into a residence in the 100 block of Jessie (Ingalls Park Subdivision). Once inside the residence the male reportedly threw the female resident to the ground and started demanding her to give his money back. The female was able to retrieve her cell phone and attempted to call 911. The male then grabbed her phone and broke it. Two other people in the residence heard a call for help and came out to observe a male Hispanic and a male black leaving the residence and got into a green Ford Escort, they were able to provide a license plate for the suspect vehicle. An alert was put out and Joliet Police were able to locate the vehicle as well as two subjects matching the description given in the 100 block of Arizona, Joliet.
Michael Ruiz and the male black identified as Kyle Armstrong were taken into custody and questioned by Will County Sheriff’s Investigations. By admissions made it appears that this stemmed from a failed drug transaction. It was determined that the Kyle Armstrong was not involved and released after being interviewed. Michael Ruiz was charged with Home Invasion, Criminal Damage to Property, Criminal Trespass to Residence, Battery and Disorderly Conduct. Michael Ruiz will appear in Room 305 Will County Court House at 1:30PM today for a bond hearing.
