- Alert: Residential Burglaries
- Coverage Area: Area 4 - Eastern Will County
- Date: February 1, 2010
This critical alert is from the Will County Sheriff's Office. Burglaries are occurring to households, vehicles and out buildings in unincorporated Eastern Will County. Please secure your home, vehicles, garages, pole building or other out buildings by locking doors and windows.
The majority of residential burglaries are occurring during weekday working hours. Often, a burglar knocks or rings the doorbell first to ensure no one is home before entering a residence. If someone answers, a burglar may state that they are looking for a lost dog, ask for directions, advise they need to complete repair work either outside or inside your home or will give some other excuse as to why they are there.
Please contact 911 if you observe any suspicious persons or vehicles. Please provide as much information as possible: physical descriptions, number of people, car type, license plate number, and direction of travel. This is an informational alert message only. You do not need to call back call back regarding this message. Thank you. Will County Sheriff’s Office.
