Truck Enforcement

An Overweight Truck Enforcement Detail using hire-back hours has been in operation on County and Township Roads since 1988. Cumbersome ramp scales were used until 2001 at which time they were replaced by lightweight wheel weigher scales. These scales, which weigh apporximately 35 pounds each, can be used by two-men details.

Permits

The Will County Sheriff's Office requires trucks carrying oversize loads on County maintained roadways obtain an overweight permit. For information regarding permits, contact the Will County Highway Department during normal business hours Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at (815) 727 - 8476
