State Mandated Racial Profiling Reporting
The Traffic Section has organized the program for compiling Racial Profiling Data, as per State statute and is currently tabulating the information for submission to the State of Illinois.
What is Racial Profiling Data Collection:
- Racial profiling data collection is tracking the race, ethnicity, and gender of those who are stopped and/or searched by the police.
- _ Data collection systems require officers to record information about some or all of their traffic and /or pedestrian stops.
- _ Information is compiled and analyzed to determine whether patterns of stops and searches are based on race.
Will County Sheriff’s Department fully supports ideals of no one being stopped due to race, color or gender and further supports the Racial Profiling Data Collection Efforts
